Comics The '07 X-Event: Endangered Species, Messiah Complex, & Disassembled

I thought Messiah Complex was great. I enjoyed it anyway...

Had some awesome moments. Xavier getting "killed" was unnecessary in my opinion, but he's not really dead, of course. He's in the April previews on the Marvel.com website.

Wolverine ripping up Predator X from the inside out was awesome...

So cyke... lead them
bishop.. betrayed
cable. the saved them
prof. x. was the down fall by he's death

I think gambit kinda did alot in Mc because of you think about it blinded by the light and Messiah Complex are one story, raven and gambit knew the whole time what was going to happen... if you think about they where knda playing chess with the other making things happen so rogue would be saved and gambit did play a roll in giving the baby to prof.x in the end

just in case it wasn't clear, the final shot of the x-men surrounding xavier's body, that last panel where his body disappears is not a mistake. in an interview carey mentioned it.

Is the baby Jean? Wikipedia says so, but I can't be sure with them.

(Obviously, I didn't read this crossover)

Yes, Bachalo and Ramos know nothing about proportions, but that's been said numerous times before, so I figured it was implied. :o

This is more than a simple overlooking of proportions. The thing was barely bigger than Peepers a few weeks ago, now it's big enough to comfortably fit Wolverine in its belly and have 6 or 7 X-Men practically ride it.

Maybe it grows the more it eats

Its sized jumped up and down all of the New X-Men issue, so I think neither of them just has a clue how to draw the damn thing.

babys are typically born with blonde hair... its very easy to see that a baby red head would be born with redish blonde hair.
yeah its not uncommon for baby's hair color to change. That happens all the time

Why is it so important to have this baby be Jean? The potential is so much greater for her to be her own person.

babys usually arnt born though with red hair... and it turn blonde...

plus the babies hair distinctly got redder throughout the series.. and in the latest issue it's face matured a hell of alot to look like a certain someone... the last few close ups of the baby.. well... its face certainly didn't look like a baby, but reminiscent of a mature woman

its not so much important that this has to be Jean. People are just guessing it is her bc its been HEAVILY hinted as such. The last issue pretty much said it without actually saying it. Its not like people are just assuming its Jean bc they see some type of resemblence or that all this talk is random. No, there's evidence to back it up and its been thrown our way. Until Marvel officially confirms something in the pages, the possibility that this baby is Jean is still there. It cant and shouldnt be ruled out especially, given what we've seen so far

Sorry but, what hints? There haven't really been any that don't seem like anything until they're turned around by fans to make them seem significant. Hair color? Big whoop. Sorry, but I'm not buying the "it'll turn red when she gets older" argument either. This is comics, when have the artists ever thought of something like that when drawing her? I think the fact that she's vollied between blonde and strawberry blonde speaks more for the fact that the colorists just interpreted "strawberry blonde" in their own ways. I'm not buying how her face looked in the last issue as a viable argument either, because Bachalo is a **** artist, and her face looked pretty much like every other female face he's ever drawn, so I see no significance in that either. Nor am I buying the thing about the locket either. From a storyline standpoint, it was clearly done to remind Scott about the sacrifices he made when he had to give up Cable as a baby and when he lost Jean to show that giving up this baby would be what is best for her, not say that the baby was Jean herself. Everything that has been said to be a so called "hint" at the baby being Jean is only considered that because it has been fanwanked within an inch of its life.

Bachalo's drawn some ****ty faces in his life but I don't think this is any coincidence.

It looks like every other female face he's drawn up close, so I'm not seeing the significance, honestly.

I'm not a Jean junkie so I don't care who the baby is; but that last chapter of MC has that baby draped in ambiguity.
