Yes, I thought so too. However, it's not. The skeleton isn't colored adamantium.

This is one of those stories I'm going to have wait and see what happens. I liked New Xmen a lot, but I can't say I'm a true fan, so I think in many ways this story was written for a reader like me, since Marvel is always trying to bring new readers in (which means killing a character).

I wonder what it would be like to write stories for long time readers?

Huh.

Scott screaming his head off after his girlfriend's been KO'ed, eh?

Why, is IS a true X-Event, lol. :D

P.S. Oh, and thumbs up for the art in the one-shot.

Each book, or at least each writer, usually writes stories for long-time readers. In order to know what's happening in current issues of X-Factor, you'd have to have read previous issues. To know who Clay is, you'd have had to read the Madrox mini that led into X-Factor. Same with New X-Men. Same with Carey's lead-up to Messiah Complex. Same with Bru's "Rise and Fall" arc than with the one he just wrapped up.

And considering Messiah Complex has been being led up to and in to, while, yes, it's another good opportunity to score new readers, it's just as geared toward long-time readers, if not more so.

I know what you are saying, but in the interview they posted with Carey he specifically said it was geared towards new readers... all the important stuff at least.

Obviously that means long term fans will see and get more out of it, but he clearly said it would be easy for new readers to start here.

I like how in some of the released images they put a big black box over the person set to be killed.. Or at least i'm guessing that's the big death that they meant. If it isn't, then there's got to be several other deaths...

So much hate geared toward Ramos. I wouldn't wish death on him. Maybe that his hands get cut off. Or rather, his feet.

Those preview images are from the one-shot leading into the crossover, right? If so, I'm surprised they didn't waste any time destroying the school.

You know one of the best parts of Titanic is the part where the ship starts sinking. ;)

'Cause THAT'S never happened before... :whatever:

Yeah, but Titanic waited for the third act before sinking the ship. Even X-Men Legends II waited until the second chapter before destroying the mansion. Destroying it from the get-go? That's just being impatient.
