2: Cannonball is an external which is basically Marvel ripping off of Highlander ("There can only be one!"). It's possible they dropped the storyline due to lawsuits, though so it might not count.

Well, they'd still have to explain why exactly he seemingly resurrected himself moments after being gutted earlier in his career...

Wasn't the issue brushed upon recently? I think I remember a quick, one line reference to Sam seeming immortal after he was shot not too long ago...

yup during stryker's recent attakc on the mansion sam took at least two bullets point blank in the chest, without his blastshield. but at the end of the story he's wrapped up in bandages with an oxygen mask and seemingly doing fine. later he's seen in a hospital bead recovering, and david alleyne mentions that beast told him sam's immortal, which david follows up with "I wasn't sure if he was joking or not."

so it's still up in the air

Well, they definitely dropped the whole Cable is training Sam to fight Apocalypse storyline (I still think that would have worked had they acted upon way back when), but I do hope they eventually get around to explaining how he escapes death.

Though I suppose we could see it soon, with the throwdown that's coming up in the coming months.

I didn't get House of M, nor was I into comics to learn of it. I'm hoping this One-shot will provide a GOOD jump-off to the crossover, not some crappy slump...which I doubt it will, I'm excited for in none-the-less

Considering Bendis hasn't shown an interest in the X-Men titles, and never has, I seriously doubt him taking on AXM. Brian K. Vaughan? Much more likely choice.

But Vaughn has routinely dismissed this and went into detail explaining why. "Unlike Joss, I don't want to be the guy following the great guy because blah, blah, blah." A bit too much. If he was trying to mislead us, he'd say some stuff like, "Well, my schedule's a bit hectic now but we'll see in the future" or some stuff like that.

Re-read my sentence. I never put in a name. That's because I *OBVIOUSLY* was talking about the concept itself rather than ONE example.

Said concept which, I'll remind you, had to do with Storm fans whining about how powerful/Mary Suesque other characters are.

Like, for example, whining about Omegas and Jean being a Mary Sue (both of which I totally agree with) but somehow not including 'Ro in said rant.
