The best X-Book out there in my opinion. Astonishing is pretty good, but it's not very original and the timing of its release is just rediculous. All it's got is a good creative team... overall I find it less enjoyable. Uncanny X-Men and X-Men feel out of the loop too (due to Uncanny having spent so long in space and X-Men being primarilly villains). X-Factor is the only one that can give it a run for its money. Good stuff, but New X-Men actually makes me care about what happens with the characters. I find the stories the most interesting and the characters the most relatable.
Agreed. I mean, just look at the new solicit. "The X-Men finally take time to get to know their students." It's like the writers finally woke up one morning and went, "Oh ****, these are supposed to be kids at a private school, aren't they? Maybe we should address the fact that the teachers play a big part in their lives." Give me a break. That's why I liked DeFillips and Weir before, they blended the action with the school like life so well.
Never, if I recall correctly. Perhaps he's mistaking one of the characters for another?![]()
No I'm not mistaking anyone.
Waaaay back in Uncanny #250 during the X-Men in Australia era they had to pass through an object called the Seige Perilous. They did not know what would happen to them after passing through it, but they went through some changes. Colossus lost his memory and adopted the life of an artist calling himself Peter Nicholaus. Mystique's physical appearence was changed and she became a model or something. Peter became infatuated with her and persued her and they eventually developed a relationship. When the X-Men discovered what had happened to him they decided to let him have a chance at a normal life and left him and Mystique to go their own way. He even made a guest appearance in a few issues of Web of Spider-man as Peter Nicholaus. What ended up happening was in Uncanny #279 while under the influence of the Shadow King, he tried to kill Prof. X and Cecilia Reyes. Charles eventually freed Peter's mind and he returned to the team. This relationship was mentioned again in Uncanny #325.
Piotr emerged in a loft in Manhattan, naked and virtually amnesiac. The loft belonged to Phillip Moreau and Jenny Ransome, Genoshan emigrants, who did not recognize Piotr from their earlier meeting as they had only seen him in armored form.Utilizing his creative talent, he set up a new life for himself as an American painter in Soho, calling himself Peter Nicholas and soon became quite famous. Piotr also became romantically involved with Callisto around this time, who had been altered by Masque with the features of a beautiful model. "Nicholas" was almost completely unaware of his powers and his past with the X-Men, though he did encounter a number of faces from his past including X-Factor and Banshee and Forge, who were searching for the missing X-Men. Since Piotr seemed happy in his new life, they left him alone. If they would need him later on, they would know how to find him. [Uncanny X-Men #259-260, X-Factor #54, Uncanny X-Men #262-264]![]()

Ok, yeah, now I know what you're talking about, and you're definitely mistaking Mystique for Callisto.

Callisto's looks were changed I think by Masque I'll have to look that one up.are they sure that was Callisto?
cuz she is well, ugly and she was ugly BEFORE the siege perilous.
The model was Dazzler, was it not? not Callisto
Jean isn't returning. Joe Q has flat out said she's not coming back and it was a mistake to revive her the first time.
