Matt, have you ever tried listening to any of Ron Paul's speeches or arguments... you may disagree with some, agee with others, but he's honestly the only one who's ever come up with some far clearer ideas on how to do things from healthcare to the economy to foreign policy and he's made some excellent links between his foreign policy ideas to domestic programs.

Hilary would've given Kerry the boost he needed in 2004. The problem is, she will never settle for number 2.

She's been #2 before?

:whatever:

If there were no electoral college, you would be saying "Democracy is a lie. The five large cities are the only ones who determine elections. Don't be a victim".
drink the kool-aid and live the lie then.

I have, I like Ron Paul a lot.

I also like Dennis Kucinich a lot.

Neither of them can win.

And I know, I'm voting for Richardson...but thats because, out of the long shots, he is the most realistic to get the VP spot if he gets support.

Why in the black hell would some of you vote Giuliani?

I don't get it, either. The man is even more of a fascist that G.W. is. He's also a liar and a cheat in his business dealings, which as been well documented. Rudy is NOT an honorable guy in the least and would abuse his power if he were to become President in a fashion that would make Bush look like Sister Theresa.

Kucinich has a hot wife......Seriously I don't feel any candidate in either party is worthy of the office. None of the Above

Ron Paul is pro-life and if my reading is correct is also against gay marriage....edit.....I am not a woman and therefore the whole abortion debate is not my business, as for gay marriage, I have gay friends and family and I feel they should be allowed to marry....

Exactly, BL. Kucinich ftw.

Or Gravel. That mofo is a bamf.

Read up on Richardson. The rest of the candidates, I agree on. Very disappointing stock this year.

Richardson is a great man as well, but like you said earlier, he has no shot. VP might be a stretch as well, but he basically should be a shoe in for a cabinet positition.

Richardson as Secretary of State = orgasmic.

Richardson as President = even more orgasmic.

I don't see how anyone can support someone with no platform, no experience, or really anything outside of some tired bull**** rhetoric...yet Obama is winning.

Its because he is the other candidate, outside of Hilary. No other dem has a real shot (sorry Edwards), so he is considered the better option.

I wouldn't count Edwards out so quickly. He is really close to Hilary in some of the polls in NH and Iowa, even beating Obama in some of them. If Elizabeth dies around the right time, he will see a huge boost from that and once he wins one of those states, it will be like a domino effect.

Thats not cool, and I honestly see him dropping out if that is the case.

It may not be cool, but its the reality. I gaurantee practically all of Edwards' staff has thought it. Her dying will give him a HUGE boost in the polls. He won't drop out. He made the decision to stay in regardless of what happens when she was diagnosed as terminally ill. He isn't going anywhere.

Its hard for me to see that if his wife were to die, that he would stay in such a dirty world. I know its what he wants to do, but I think the pressure would eat at him.

He won't have a choice. He won't be able to give up his career, which he has invested MILLIONS of dollars into because his wife died. He knows she is dying, he will probably take time off the campaign trail, but he is not going to quit.

...and behind closed doors, Edwards has to know what her death would mean to the public perception of him.....Like Matt said, his staff probably already has a plan in place it does happen....

I have Rudy, though I wish there was an electable moderate democrat. Honestly, people wonder why Bush won in 2004? Its because the Democrat party offers no middle ground.

If Obama wins the nomination for the DNC (which I don't see happening) I may support him against a Republican candidate if Rudy does not win the GOP. While I agree with Matt that he is all style and little substance - I hope that will send a message to both parties.

Obama brings nothing to the table......
Neither did this twice elected president:
bushsoldier.jpg

The guy had never made anything of himself in business, had a spotty record at best as governor, but his charisma (such as it is) and money helped him beat McCain.

Also, good for the old man:

Obama has experience comparable to Edwards and Hillary in the Senate. He brings something they don't--charisma and no baggage. I don't dismiss Matt's case for Richardson, I just don't see Richardson winning. And I'm tired of losing. Obama, in my mind, is the best option for winning, which is all I'm worried about.
