The 6 Worst Things to Eat at the Theater

wow i'm glad i dont buy anything when i go to movies.

when we go out for movies nights with the coworkers, we usually stop at a restaurant and eat real food first. (we're all usually night shift so this is our dinner meal)

most of us will smuggle water or something in our purses and some small snacks and avoid buying the overpriced, overfattening stuff.

and i get discounts on ticket prices if i use my old student id, or my DoD work id

Yeah I still use my student ID to get discounts. I'm 30, but my face hasn't changed at all since 19 to be honest.:o

I go to a theatre that sells really good fried dough . The rest of the food tastes like absolute shint . Also there is this thing called Lux level where you get really nice seats and the option to order beer. To me its not worth the extra price , I used to sneak alcohol into the theatre all the time with friends . Fortunately it helped me get through some of the worst movies ever .. Alone in the Dark , Doom , and Deuce Bigelow . I was too drunk to remeber anything about those movies other than the fact they all sucked.

Oh man, reading that article is funny coming from someone who basically works in a movie theatre concession stand 30 hours a week :D We're always snacking on popcorns and pretzels. Just skip the butter and salt, and it'd probably half the fat though.

I never get food when I go see a movie...I'll get a soda, but I usually get orange soda or something without caffiene. I get a medium.

#1 Popcorn
#2 Popcorn
#3 Popcorn
#4 Popcorn
#5 Popcorn
#6 Popcorn

I always try to eat before I go to the movies . I really enjoy a large soda every once in a while . It did suck though when I had to pee halfway through Iron Man and had to hold it ... even through the end credits.

Employee's are actually required to try to get people to get larger sizes. They actually record on our registers the percentages of small sizes verses the larger. If you suck, you'll get stuck doing other ****tier jobs... or at least, that's how my theatre chain does it. It's funny to actually get people to upsize and be all happy about having free refills, but they barely ever come back.

On a side note, those kids with their cellphones out during movies.... When I theatre check I'll usually slow down as a walk by, so that they see that i'm looking at them and they quickly close their phones. Works most of the time...

I always get the "only forty cents extra " line and it works but sometimes i just want a medium and they get pushy.

I went to see Children of Men and after three black girls chatting to each other walked in enough people groaned to where it was blatantly obvious people were scared they would sit near them .:hehe:

To me the worst is teenage girls who feel compelled to show us the funny. :csad:

I think everyone understand now pulling out the cell phone is a shinthead move.

I'm still going to eat my large popcorn with soda. :o

I'm not gonna lie, I used to LOVE getting cheese fries at the movies haha. But now I don't get anything...maybe a cherry slushie once every few years or Snowcaps. Looking around at all the fat people inhaling their popcorn usually turns me off to any cravings.

I've worked at a theater for three years and this isn't surprising. Not one bit.

The funniest thing is seeing someone that's obviously way too big for the seats wheezing and sweating as they sit down, arms full of nachos, hot dogs, and a tub of Reese's Pieces.

I bring in a bucket of KFC Chicken and just fling the bones behind me.

popcorn is healthy..just not that theater crap

I just smuggle 2 dogs and water from home...I'll be damned if I'm gonna pay $5.50 for a box of popcorn...$2.75 for a bottled water

Cheese fries ?? ewww, i'm glad we don't have stuff like that. The grossest is probably the hot dogs. My theatre is in a mall though, so a lot of people bring in food from the food court.

Ha, I completely forgot I made this thread. But yeah, I'm not going to lie. I absolutely love movie theater popcorn. Usually when I get it though me and my friends will share a large (That's a good seven to nine people) and we'll just occasionally grab handfuls. I always hated getting my hands greasy in the theater. But it's not very often that we get popcorn. I tend to sneak water in there, too.

As far as texting, I won't lie I do it. It depends on who texts me, what movie I'm watching, how many people are in the theater, and if I've seen it before. If there are a lot of people in the theater I won't text. But if no one is really in there, I won't have a problem with it.

There was a lady in front of me at the grocery store yesterday who had the walking cane and the "I'm going blind" glasses on. She was horribly obese and was riding one of those electric scooters the stores provide for people to get around. She was making a VERY big deal out of telling anyone and everyone within earshot how her feet hurt because she has the DIABETES! And her eyesight is going because of her DIABETES! And she just feels AWFUL, because of her...anyone?....anyone?....yes, exactly Terrence, her DIABETES!!!! I finally had enough and pointed at her little haul of "groceries" and said "Maybe if you bought something besides Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, a gallon of ice cream, gummi worms and cigarettes you wouldn't have so much trouble with your DIABETES!!!!" She called me insensitive as she swiped her EBT card to "pay" for her "groceries". I absolutely do not have sympathy for people who create their own misery and then complain about it, seeking sympathy.

Damn, dude. You get off easy. Bottled water...the SMALL bottle...is $4 at the theaters here. A large popcorn is like $7.50 or something. No way in hell I'm paying those kinds of prices. It's extortion.

Dude, you're my hero. I feel the exact same way.

I totally agree with you 100%!

Thank God I'm not the only one. I'm often deemed insensitive by my friends/coworkers for the same reasons... Only I take it a little further.

I despise fat people.

I'm not fond of them either, but I'll leave them alone if they don't bother me. This lady was begging for attention, so I gave it to her; it just wasn't the kind of attention she was looking for. :hehe:
