The 79th Annual Academy Awards

I sure hope so.
Look at the RT score, it's at 100%
And from every review, I read nothing but "MASTERPIECE".

God, wouldn't that be unreal? A graphic novel, let alone a Frank Miller one, being adapted into an Oscar-winning film. We'd rule the world.

I'm gonna say that Beowulf is, at the least, nominated for the Best Animated film.
It's rare that we get a serious and violent animated film.

The three highlights of the evening:

1. Martin Scorsese FINALLY winning an Academy Award.
2. Clint Eastwood presenting Ennio Morricone with the lifetime award.
3. The Departed winning Best Picture

Oh, and the Jack Black/Will Ferrel/John C. Reilly song was awesome!

Agreed. She's devoid of talent. She's overrated in terms of looks as well, IMO.

:wow: :whatever: You have to be joking. She's the sexiest singer alive right now and has the most angelic voice on the show. B!tch.

The Departed is probably the first film of the 2000s' to actually deserve Best Picture.

Im looking very forward to Beowulf!

I'm not joking. I despise her. Her looks are heavily enhanced by makeup. Heck, my friend saw her without it and said she's ugly without it and that she's also a lot less curvy in person.

She can't sing either. She strains her voice in a manner that gives the illusion that she's a good singer but she's quite awful. Not to mention her music is bland, generic and unlistenable.

Yeah, especially with Spidey, Pirates, Potter, Fantastic Four, and the Transformers all hanging around. ;)

oh yeah...those other guys.

Tell you what, dont want to be the one who snubs one of those other films. It's a shame only 3 films have to be nominated.

I'm saying it now:
300
spidey 3
and Transformers

With transformers winning because I'm still holdong out hope that movie will be groundbreaking, Micheal Bay you better have the power!

Neva!

Considering the first two Pirates got noms (and the second one won) and Potter's always got his noms, 300 has about....I'll say....a....0.5% chance of being nominated for Best Visual Effects. But, what do I know? :hyper:

Marty won! It's about time, damn it!

Im not sure 300 will be able to get a nod over those summer blockbusters for Best Visual Effects.

No, Almost Famous should've got it that year.
OHH!!!
I forgot it was even nominated.
I love that movie too, but I like Gladiator more because I love Ancient Rome. It's one of the reasons I want to be an archaeologist.:woot:
