Exactly. It wasn't even that producer's job or responsibility to announce or clarify that a mistake had been made, but he stepped up while everyone else -- including people/producers working on the show -- were huddled together and fumbling around on stage.

Dark_B No, i am being serious about it. I found the producers actions wrong and i felt very upset for warren and faye but i think we just need to move forward and not let someones rude behaviour ruin a great celebration. Good always overcome evil in the longrun of things



Sorry i didn't explain right. I didn't see all the movies, but the ones i did see i wasnt blown away with so i didnt care who won whereas in other years i have been rooting for people like Julianne Moore and Rosamund Pike

Okay. In the original post, what you said sounded very specific. And unfortunately, it's not very fair to a film like 'Moonlight' if you haven't seen it.
I guess, like if I were to say, I didn't like Hacksaw Ridge or Lion, I don't think it's fair for me to say that I'm going to dislike or brush off 'Moonlight' and hold it against the standards of those films.

But you can do whatever you want, you're an adult. Keep in mind though, you're posting in the Academy Awards thread. If you said you didn't care for any of the movies, then obviously, that will lead into a conversation and/or debate.

Yup. The way the rest of the people were acting onstage (including Beatty), I would've thought that everything was a joke. No one was really taking charge. Heck, there was one producer who was still making a thank you speech while everyone at his back were all whispering and huddling around.

The biggest blame still goes to the show producers. First for screwing up the envelopes and then they should've acted right away and not let the whole thing go as long as it did. None of them took charge onstage either.

Yeah that was such a misstep. I mean, it's good publicity in the long haul for Moonlight, but at that moment, I was like 'What are the chances?'

The fact that the La La Land producer, who was just told he had won Best Picture, had to point out the mistake is embarrassing. I get that this has never happened before and therefore it was a confusing situation, but that's just adding insult to injury. Someone else should have taken charge.

Ugh @ that gif. Just shows that producer is trash. No one can deny it bc it is true. I was SHOCKED and still am at his rude behaviour. what is scary is that he didn't mind doing that to warren infront of millions of people, imagine if there were no cameras around! warren could have been killed if that producer lashed out. It is possible to die from one hit to the head you know. he showed his true colors. Anyway, i am glad it's all over. I dont think they will make the same mistake next year. I wasn't a huge fan of any nominees this year so wasnt rooting for anyone in particular. BTW sia was at the after party! They should have televised that instead lololol

The producer grew impatient and seized the moment by taking control of the situation, being a producer I'm sure he's accustomed to seizing the reigns and leading people during commotion.

Imagine working on films as your main venture, being nominated for the most prestigious award in the industry, with global recognition. Thinking you won said award, feeling elated, pouring out some of your soul to the world and then being told, "Psst. Actually, you gotta hand that over to this guy." All while being on global television and coming to terms that winning the highest honor in Hollywood was a mistake. AFTER, you put your mark on something these people DREAM of their whole lives- giving an Oscars acceptance speech. No doubt he felt a tad embarrassed through no fault of his own.

But sure, the dude is trash because he was most likely felt a tad humiliated in front of the whole world and quickly wanted to clarify a production disaster. I thought he handled it pretty swell considering the quick turn around of emotions that must have been.
