Just tell them the awards recognition will eventually trickle down to Reagan. They can’t argue with that. So, I see the right are complaining about how Reagan was locked out of Oscar nominations because of the representation requirements. Which, is just kind of perfect about a Reagan film, really.
This night was how I learned the songwriter for Emilia Perez is the same genius who gave us the song from the original Les Jeunes Des Paris SNL sketch, and now I want to cry.
Representation requirements? So, I see the right are complaining about how Reagan was locked out of Oscar nominations because of the representation requirements. Which, is just kind of perfect about a Reagan film, really.
Representation requirements?
This is the first I’m hearing of this movie and it has 18% on the tomatometer but ****ing 98% on the popcornmeterSo, I see the right are complaining about how Reagan was locked out of Oscar nominations because of the representation requirements. Which, is just kind of perfect about a Reagan film, really.
The Bond tribute was rough, especially after the unbelievably powerful opening number from Cynthia and Ariana. Lisa's part sounded like playback, which is fine with her choreography, but the other two kind of tanked. Neither Doja Cat nor Raye is built for those songs, and it was a little bit unfortunate. So now… of all the singers they could’ve gotten for that tribute that could’ve really belted out those songs the way they deserve… why those 3? Just because they put out a song together recently? What do any of them have to do with Bond? Or the Oscars? Or like… movies in general?
Cynthia and Ariana killed it though with the opening. Conan was also a great host. Very disappointed that Emilia Perez gets to say that it’s an Oscar winning movie now but very happy for Mikey, Anora, Kieran, and No Other Land. Also happy that Wicked, Dune 2, and The Substance managed to get a few awards under their belt even though they definitely deserved some of the bigger ones.
It's only up to 18% of Rotten Tomatoes, so even if it did qualify, it probably wouldn't have been considered for any important categories at The Oscars.Outside of representation requirements, didn't Reagan get blasted by critics?
You could always watch that Reagan movie or Joker 2, as well. You know, I'm really glad that I was able to watch all 50 Oscar nominees. I really enjoyed that, but I believe in respecting the balance, so I'm about to rent and watch Gigli for the first time...
Wasn't Morgan Freeman supposed to do a tribute to Gene Hackman? Unless I missed it...
