Okay, seriously guys, it's been the better part of a week now with zero activity in the IC Thread. Get your asses back in here! :cmad:

Have some ideas for the Iron Fist (not the first time you guys have heard that from someone) that would best fit here where there are looser interpretations...

Work a night shift tonight whic generally means we'll be flat out or dead quiet, if I find the time I'll pump out an app and some early posts to paste up here...

Character you would like to play:* Orson Randall: Iron Fist, Lost Weapon of the mystical city of K'un L'un

Powers:* Having plunged his hands into the heart of Shou-Lao the Undying tied Orson Randall to the dragon's mystical energy, making him the 65th Iron Fist.* This allows him to summon and focus his chi, this has a wide range of practical uses, most famously condensed and directed solely into the fist making it "like unto a thing of iron".* Due to years of intensive training by some of the best martial arts teachers in K'un L'un, he is one of the best martial artists on the planets, combined with decades of studying The Book of The Iron Fist - a sacred text, comprised of the teachings of all 64 Iron Fists that preceded him, made from the mystical scales of Shou-Lao himself - make him possibly the most powerful weapon in the Iron Fist legend.

Some abilities of the Iron Fist:
Master martial artist
Ability to redirect chi even outside of his own body (can project it through firearms and the bullets within)
Some ability to control weak minds via hypnosis
Chi can provide resistence to poisons/toxins and gases
Mystical abilities to heal both self and others and knowledge of both Eastern and Western methods of healing

Basic history of the character (Up until this point):* Orson Randall fled the violence that goes with the mantle of the Iron Fist.* He took drastic self-destructive precautions to make himself invisible, and keep himself hidden from the leaders of K'un L'un and those who knew him on this realm as well.* He is viewed as a failure and a matter of great dishonour by those in K'un L'un to the extent that K'un L'un changed their methods and had the Thunderer Lei Kung perform a greater role in the mentoring of young Iron Fists, to mould them, seeking greater control and influence over the position than they had with Orson.

Hoping to end the line of Iron Fists and stop the violence he stole The Book of the Iron Fist, but this had no effect on events and only harmed future wielders of the mantle who were disadvantaged by lacking the knowledge it wielded.

He has survived countless wars and seen endless horrors in his 100 year long life, and what he wants more than anything is peace.

But he's about to realise that what he wants doesn't mean squat in the grand scheme of things and that it's impossible to out-run destiny...* The Iron Fist legacy is not done with him yet...

Why Have You Chosen That Character?:* You guys need players and more activity, Orson Randall's badass as they come and by taking an older "legacy" character I think it could provide a fairly interesting perspective on the legacy issue which would otherwise be harder to find since the death of Steve Rogers. Also by taking this character, who is re-acquainting himself with this world which has changed so much since he was last a part of it, it means I've bought myself some time in terms of re-acquainting myself with the events of the IC to date...

What Do You Plan On Doing With This Character (IE: How are you changing him or her?):* Orson Randall has different motivations here from The Immortal Iron Fist.* In the Immortal Iron Fist he is more interested in aiding Danny Rand, the new Iron Fist.* Here however, Orson Randall is more trying to get a read on exactly what is going on, why he's been called back into action and resigning himself to being the Iron Fist after even the most drastic measures of avoiding the role have failed him.

K'un L'un and the world wants him to live and die a weapon, there's no avoiding it, so he's going to show them just what being a weapon means...

Two Complete Sentences Explaining What You Can Bring To This RPG (As A Player):* Another player, when activity has been dwindling and hopefully another decent writer...

Please provide a small sample post in the format you wish to portray your character in (Minimum three paragraphs/one line of dialogue, maximum six paragraphs): Just a sample, not a sneak peek... So I'll have some fun with it...

The angry, hairy midget tries to stare me down, hunched over with that sneer of his on his face. He's like a grotesque reflection of myself; we've both seen too many wars but he'd probably say we've not seen enough. By any indication he's certainly not going to call it a day... Hup, he's going to talk. I bet this will be something profound. Something belieing our vast years of experience...

"You... I thought you bought the farm or turned pansy or something. I'd buy you a beer and reminisce over old times, but something tells me you're not up for that."

That something would probably have something to do with the blood dripping from his hands and the eviscerated remains of a petty crook lying on the floor. I haven't thrown a punch in twenty years but something tells me I won't be rusty.

"You're as articulate as always, Logan."

I sink into my stance like an old couch. I am renewed, with focus my rear hand starts to glow and a smile crosses my face. Not a sneer of bloodlust and malice, a smile of rediscovered purpose... and inside of myself another part of me dies as it understands that sadly, this IS my purpose.

"I should warn you, bub, I'm not the same man I was in the nazi war... I've become something more..."

Snkt!

He unsheaths those animal claws of his, only now they appear to be sheathed in some kind of metal.

"I've become... a weapon!"

A rumble builds from within me, it becomes a chortle, then a chuckle, then a fully formed belly laugh.

"Logan, you're new to the game. I am THE living weapon..."

Andy, I'm a little late on this, but the Stark Mansion is in New York - or, at least, on the East Coast. Stark Enterprises is based on the West Coast, which is where Tony lives. Sorry for the confusion. I think I only ever explained that in a throwaway line at the start of the Season, so I should've been more clear.

Well, that's an easy enough correction to make. I was assuming West Coast because, y'know, the movies have Stark in the West Coast, and.....I'm an idiot, and stuff.

Oh, crap. I forgot I have the power to do that in here (or, at least, I did). Approved!

The All-Star Marvel RPG
Character Application

Character you would like to play: First Sergeant Jean Grey, codename: Marvel Girl.

Powers: Jean Grey is an Omega-level telepath and telekinetic. The exact extent of her power is unknown, but it is believed to be nigh limitless.

Basic history of the character (Up until this point): Jean Grey was born in Maryland, and for the most part she lived an unassuming life. Her good looks and electric personality made her the toast of her high school, where she was crowned Homecoming Queen. Her mutant abilities truly began to manifest when she turned eighteen. She accidentally erased the thoughts and memories of her high school sweetheart, leaving him in a vegetative state. Jean was persecuted until the day Charles Xavier found her.

Sensing the danger that the girl posed if left untrained, Xavier convinced Jean's parents to enroll her in his Institute in Westchester. There, Jean found peace, and Xavier closely monitored her development. Jean went on to earn a medical degree before enrolling in Colonel Haller's new program: the X-Men.

As one of the charter members of the X-Men, Jean served as First Sergeant under Captain Scott Summers - with whom she had an unauthorized relationship. Jean served primarily as the team's medical doctor, while also acting as an emissary on recruitment missions and taking on a role as team therapist. Most recently, she was captured by the Brotherhood of Mutants following an attack on the White House.

Why Have You Chosen That Character?: Jean's current situation is an interesting one. She's a captive of the Brotherhood, but she's also the key to their latest and greatest plot for mutant supremacy. She's getting a chance to see behind enemy lines from a unique perspective.

What Do You Plan On Doing With This Character (IE: How are you changing him or her?): Well, as with all the X-Men, Jean is part of the military rank-and-file now. She was second-in-command behind Cyclops, which makes their relationship all the more illicit. Jean is still coming into her own with her power, and she'll soon realize how powerful she can be.

Two Complete Sentences Explaining What You Can Bring To This RPG (As A Player): Unlimited power! /Palpatine. But, seriously, I guess I'm a team player. I like to help shape this little world of ours, and I'm always open to ideas? (For example: let's destroy this question and never bring it back.)

Please provide a small sample post in the format you wish to portray your character in (Minimum three paragraphs/one line of dialogue, maximum six paragraphs):

Silence. When my powers first manifested, I never thought I'd get to enjoy it again. The trouble with reading minds is that you often hear more than you'd like. Until Professor Xavier found me, I thought I'd go through the rest of my life hearing other people's thoughts in my head. He taught me to block it all out, to control it. And so I can sit again in silence, concentrating on my own mind.

I pick up the glass of water at the far end of the room with my mind. It sounds a lot harder than it is. I've had people ask me what telekinesis feels like, and I've had trouble explaining it. It's like grabbing something without moving your hand. I turn the glass over, watching the liquid start to tumble. That's when I reach out again and freeze it in midair. I slide the water out of the glass, setting the glass down gently on the table. I turn the water over in midair and shape it into a neat little orb.

"Sergeant Grey, a word?"

At the interruption, I lose focus and drop the orb of water. It hits the ground with a splash. I hide my annoyance as I turn to face Colonel Haller. I stand up, guiding a towel over to the wet spot on the ground with my mind. "Yes, Colonel?"

Colonel Haller frowns. "Sergeant, you are aware that fraternizing with another member of the team is not allowed?"

"Of course, sir."

"Then, your relationship with Captain Summers--"

"I don't follow, sir," I interrupt suddenly. I hold my ground, not budging an inch. "Captain Summers and I maintain a strictly businesslike relationship."

"Sergeant Grey, this is no time for games. If you think I don't know what's going on between you two..." He trails off, clearly trying not to lose his temper. After taking a moment to collect himself, he continues, "It ends, Sergeant. Immediately. I will not have you jeopardizing the team."

"With all due respect, sir, I don't see any reason to believe that we're jeopardizing anything. And while fraternization is forbidden by your rules, there's nothing in the code book which strictly forbids it. So if you care to dismiss your first- and second-in-command based on an off-the-books conduct ruling..."

"Enough! You forget your place, Sergeant." Colonel Haller glares at me. "Don't think for one second that the rules don't apply to you because of your power. I am your commanding officer, and I have given you a direct order."

I stand completely immobile, biting my own tongue. "Yes, sir."

And that, my dear, is why we always save our posts onto Word before attempting to put them up.

Colossus is the First Sergeant! Jean is a 1st Lieutenant and Cyke's XO. :cmad:

Yeah, that's right, I'm going to be all *****y up in here. I just remembered how the ranks went when JB started the X-Men up.

And also....

The All-Star Marvel RPG
Character Application

Character you would like to play: Sgt. Peter Rasputin/Colossus

Powers: Ability to transform his body into organic steel. The power grants him superhuman strength, stamina, and durability

Basic history of the character (Up until this point): Peter Rasputin, a third generation Russian immigrant, was born in San Francisco in 1985. Peter was the middle child of the Rasputin family, wedged between older brother Michael and the baby girl Elizabeth. A quiet child, Peter loved to paint and draw. Peter was twelve when his brother joined the Air Force. When he was thirteen, it became clear that the middle Rasputin child was different.

On May 31st, 1998, Peter and Elizabeth were on the way to school when an out of control trolley car raced towards them. Fearing for his younger sister's life, Peter stepped in front of her in a vain effort to stop the car. That's when his hidden mutant gene kicked in, covering his body in metal. The resulting crash stopped the trolley in its tracks, and saved Elizabeth's life. Peter registered as a mutant the very next day.

He kept his abilities as hidden as possible as he went through school. Along with his love of drawing, Peter discovered a love of football. As a seventeen year old linebacker/offensive lineman who topped out at 6'6, Peter was nicknamed Colossus.

Tragedy struck the Rasputin family when Michael Rasputin, an Air Force pilot, was shot down by insurgents during the second Iraq war. Racked by guilt and wishing to respect his brother, Peter enlisted in the Army after he graduated high school. He hid the fact that he was a mutant to the recruiter, and kept his abilities a secret to the rest of his squad members during basic training. In the Army, he was a good fit and quickly elevated the non-commissioned officer ranks to Sergeant First Class. His infantry division was shipped out to Iraq.

Peter and his squad were patrolling through the village of Amarah when insurgents struck an ambush on the squad. Pinned down and facing heavy casualties, Peter risked his military career by using his mutant abilities. His steel covered skin protected him as he single handedly killed the terrorist squad and kept casualties and fatalities to a minimum. In response to being revealed as a mutant, the US Army awarded Peter with a Silver Star for his actions, and promptly reassigned him for designation with the government's group of mutant peacekeepers, the X-Men.

Why Have You Chosen That Character?: Colossus is one of my favorite X-Men.

What Do You Plan On Doing With This Character (IE: How are you changing him or her?): Well, Colossus isn't the giant with the Russian accent anymore. He's American born and bred, but still has some connection with his Russian roots. Also, he's a war hero...a war hero!

Two Complete Sentences Explaining What You Can Bring To This RPG (As A Player): Decent RPer with experience on the boards...and I can bring other things, like TP if someone needs to wipe.

Please provide a small sample post in the format you wish to portray your character in (Minimum three paragraphs/one line of dialogue, maximum six paragraphs):

0125 Hours

"Peter," a voice calls from the hallway.

"I'm in here, Miss Pryde."

"Peter, I've been on the X-Men six months. Call me Kitty."

The petite brunette who can walk through walls uses the door as she comes into the living room.

"What are you up to?"

"I'm doing a bit of drawing."

I hold up the sketch pad to show the drawing of the hummingbird hovering above a rose.

"Get out! That's incredible."

"Thank you. I haven't been able to draw lately. The team and other things have been taking my time."

"Do you think you could draw me sometime," Kitty asks as her face flushes slightly.

"I-...uhh, well...yes, I suppose."

"Good. What about right now?"

"Now?"

"Yes. How about in my room?"

"I...uhh," I stammer as I play with my shirt collar. My face heats up as it slowly turns red.

"Listen, Pete. I've noticed you looking at me. And I've been looking at you. You're a cute guy, a sweet guy....I want to find out if Colossus lives up to his name."

That's when my face turns the color of Jean's hair. Miss Pryde - Kitty - takes my hand and starts to pull me off the couch.

"I don't know if we should do this. I mean, what about dinner and a movie first?"

"Well, I've got a DVD player in my room, and half a can of Pringles. That counts."

"Oh boy," I nervously mutter as Kitty takes my hand and leads me down the hallway.

Well, you know what, that's neither what JB nor Andy said in their apps! :cmad:

Byrd is APPROVED for Colossus, by the way.

Also, Watchman, when Crossbones mentioned "the Rogers woman" in your last post, I'm assuming she means Bucky's mother. She's still alive, though. And get on MSN when ya can so we can figure out how this whole city-wide Nazi invasion thing is going to go.

The All-Star Marvel RPG
Character Application

Character you would like to play: Captain Warren Worthington

Powers: Flight, peak physical fitness, HAMMER military training.

Basic history of the character (Up until this point): Worthington is the son of a famous medical company magnate, although the two haven't talked since his wings manifested in early adolescence. Warren was one of the very first 'recruits' picked up by HAMMER, and quickly established himself as prime leadership material in the original Danger Room sessions. Warren made his way up to captain, eventually leading his own team in the wake of the political disaster of Magneto attacking the White House. Worthington's team were tasked with tracking the Brotherhood, engaging in a few skirmishes in the months since.

Why Have You Chosen That Character?: I've really enjoyed reading up on the X-Men, and I feel that Angel is a character I can explore further.

What Do You Plan On Doing With This Character (IE: How are you changing him or her?): Well obviously there's the whole HAMMER/military aspect of the X-Men now. It'll be interesting to see how the proposition of SHIELD develops.

Two Complete Sentences Explaining What You Can Bring To This RPG (As A Player): Cookies. And another character.

Please provide a small sample post in the format you wish to portray your character in (Minimum three paragraphs/one line of dialogue, maximum six paragraphs):
I nod at the two MPs standing on duty outside of the interrogation room. They part like the Red Sea, open the door. LeBeau's sitting across a metal table, special HAMMER-issue gloves on his hands that prevent him from exploding everything that he touches. I sit down opposite him, making sure that the chair scrapes on the tile floor. I meet his red eyes and give a brief, brittle smile.

"Good morning Mister LeBeau," I say, crossing my arms slowly.

"Uncle Tom," LeBeau says in greeting, bringing two fingers to his forehead in a mock salute. That Cajun drawl makes me want to punch him in his smug face. I don't even clench my fist.

"I suggest you learn some respect, Mister LeBeau, since we're going to have such a long working relationship," I say through gritted teeth.

LeBeau grins.

"Whatever you say," he says "Hey, where's that kid what brought me in? Now there was a leader o' men, am I right?"

I try not to let the irritation at the mention of Scott's name get to me. I know that Bobby's been giving him information on the Brotherhood, probably because they're holding Grey. I know about it, and I authorised Iceman to do it. He'd have done it anyway, and to do anything else would have undermined my position as team leader. It's not that I don't like Scott, I do, he's a nice guy. I just wish that he'd occasionally follow the rules about dangerous **** like this. All this passes over my face in a few seconds. I slam my hands down on the table.

"Can I point out that no one actually knows that you're here. How long you stay in this government facility depends entirely upon me, and how much of an asset I think you are. So you stop giving me this ********, and we'll see where we get," I say, trying not to reach across the table and pound the terrorists face in. LeBeau is uncharacteristically silent.

"Lets get started. What can you tell me about Wolverine,"

Hot damn, all of a sudden we've got X-Men busting out all over! Now here's hoping the big team fights don't end up turning into a traffic jam like they can be prone to doing.

Catman is APPROVED for Angel.

Imagine how many more we'd have gotten if you stayed gone! :cmad:

:oldrazz:

Now, if only someone worthy were to take up the mantle of Magneto. Someone with the writing prowess to really bring the Brotherhood to life. Someone like...
