The All Things Flash Thread. - Part 2

Seems like a way oversimplification just for an edgy blurb box. Everything we know about his role, even from just the trailers, suggests he'll have a big impact on Barry.

On fan service, before the multiverse films all started people were all screaming for it. For people over here in one universe to interact with people in this other universe. Fans finally get to see these interactions in multiple films and then decide it's too much? Like what did you expect from a film that was trying to make this work, a film that made complete sense? The whole idea of it is clearly to be a crowd pleaser, and if its a good film while doing such then that's a massive achievement.

It's all very I decided I won't like it and will find a way to moan about it. It's why I'm done with the genre now outside of massive event films because fans and critics have become so tiresome.

Yeah it is such a weird thing to be annoyed with. There is a weird sense of entitlement amongst the genre fans. For years they begged for some of this stuff and now they are whining because they are getting it. This is like when I am teaching Middle School and the kids beg for days to have class outside, we go out and 5 minutes later they want to go back inside.

A couple of the cameos leaked. I saw--

Footage of George Reeves Supes, the Jay Garrick of his world and a screenshot of Clooney's Bruce.

They all looked good, from what I could see in the potato footage. I hope I'm able to resist watching the others should they leak... But who am I kidding, I've spoiled myself like crazy for this whole movie since day one.

Man, I have only heard of one cameo (thanks to the Director lol) and I'm trying to prevent of hearing of anymore of them. I am curious just HOW many cameos are in here. With no spoilers, would you say a lot, or just a few that just make your jaw drop? Either way... I'm ready for Thursday! Anyone else got their tix yet?

I know of all the cameos.

I've seen a pic of clooneys cameo. He looks great!

So, someone confirm this for me:

Are there really CG cameos of Christopher Reeve and Adam West? If that's true, doesn't that strike anyone as utterly disgusting?

For a momentary, fleeting glimpse (which is what this is)? Not at all. Not much different than using stock footage. For doing anything more than that? Yeah, generally not into that.

yes there is and no it does not. The idea is to honor the entire history of the DCU and I would assume they got permission

Figured it would have been better to use stock footage instead, but alright I guess. Just as long as we're not condoning the start of Hollywood using AI and deepfakes to bring dead actors back to life for full-fledged performances.

I will never support that. Anything beyond this and I will definetly get squeamish.

You said it perfectly but now is the time for cancel culture. I am about to go zero dark thirty until I see the movie next week. I am reading the posts and different threads. The movie is gonna suffer because of the controversy.
Agreed. Now is the time. So why is Ezra still not fired? I mean, if cancel culture was the great satanic wildfire some people think it is, at least Ezra Miller would’ve been sacked a long time ago no? It seems to me that the so called cancel culture is pretty weak if even a lunatic like them can just hide in a bunker and get away with it.

If the ending is not the biggest demostration of the fact Ezra's already fired I don't know what is.

Good riddance. They were over-acting and scene-chewing the entire movie. The movie leans on them heavily, and that's why it's so weak. Couple that with the weak visuals throughout the entire movie and it's just not a good time. Keaton is the only standout here and I suspect he would've been the same in the Batgirl movie.

And before anyone says "you're only saying that because of what they did" you're wrong. WB Discovery gave them a chance in a massive blockbuster movie, and they're acting here is awful. To be specific, they're more annoying than anything and the amount of annoying they are on screen ruins the levity of the heartfelt more grounded moments in the movie. It's such a cop-out to say that this movie is getting bad reviews because of Ezra, it's not, it's because it's a bad movie. I find it laughable that anyone would think this is top-tier DC.

7/10 tomatoes makes this a bad movie? Most critics like the movie and Ezra’s performance. You seem to be in the minority. I mean Super Mario Brothers and Transformers are both doing very well. I am looking forward to seeing this on Friday.

Do you need Rotten Tomatoes to decide what is and what isn't a good movie for you? Birds of Prey has a 79% on RT and that is another massive stinker. You & @dhandler01 can jump on here and praise the movie all you want, I'm allowed to criticize the movie just the same. It's a mediocre film in my eyes, that's all. Someone like Grace Randolph saying it's on the level of the golden era of DC Animation (Justice League, BTAS, STAS) is absolutely laughable because that's the opposite of what this movie is. This movie screams generic superhero film: childish humor, 80's music randomly thrown in here, and garbage visuals. I'll happily praise Keaton's performance here but that definitely isn't enough to make this movie worthwhile. They should recast and start from scratch once Gunn has really gotten his DCU off the ground and introduced his heroes and villains. This movie will fail and it's not going to be because of:

Superhero fatigue
Ezra Miller
Ties to Snyder
DC failures
Bad summer release date

It's going to fail because it's a bad movie. Doesn't mean it won't have its fans, you're absolutely allowed to enjoy this movie once you watch it. But making excuses when it inevitably fails to break even at the BO doesn't help anyone here.

Lots of hate and venom in your post. Man I hope you have someone to talk too. You don’t like the movie that is fine but the majority of the people who have seen the film like it. We will find out about the box office in the next few weeks.

You're allowed to have your opinion, but I will say, at least so far, your review may be the most negative one I have seen yet. I think the worst I have heard is that it doesn't live up to the hype, but is still good, especially if you're a DC Comics fan. I actually saw a few people who thought the movie would be terrible, ended up enjoying it.

I'm seeing it thursday. Hopefully I have a better time than you did lol!

Fair enough if you’re generally skeptical of reviews (because they’re subjective, biased, unreliable, etc.). I’m somewhat inclined that way as well. But if you are citing an aggregate review score, it should be accurate. And characterizing a 70% RT score as “bad” is not accurate. At a stretch, 70% might be called “mixed” (though most, I think, would say it falls within the “good” range).

I see no hate and venom in @DCnightwing23 ’s post - I see someone who simply disliked the movie. That opinion’s just as valid as anyone else’s in here. It’s not the first negative reaction to the movie, and I can assure you it won’t be the last, so I’d recommend learning to accept that now, rather that suggesting he needs “someone to talk to.” That kind of response to someone disliking the movie is wholly unnecessary.

I see venom and negativity. The poster decided to post a review in all things flash. So I gave my opinion to the poster of what I have seen from reviews and YouTube. He didn’t like the response and attacked. So I responded to his attack. The poster even brought another poster into the comments. It is what is. A message board about DC movies.
