The All Things Flash Thread. - Part 2

According to sources, Miller vowed to seek help after learning that De Luca and Abdy were considering all options for Flash, including scrapping the $250 million movie if things devolved further with Miller. While the actor is said to not have minded the stream of bad headlines, they were spooked by the notion of the film getting canceled and jolted to take action. Says one source: "They care about The Flash. It's one of their favorite characters to play."

That public apology might not have been genuine...

Well yeah, it was potentially the most lucrative role of Miller's career! :funny:

I think this tells us WBD hopes to keep Ezra Miller in the role.

The Flash is receiving test scores on par with Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy. God damn.

You know what ? I'm really inclined to believe that.

Because the DCEU has been a mess since its beginning, the idea that their first real crowd pleaser in years is being drowned out by scandal, just seems like an appropriate irony.
The whole thing is cursed. :funny:

That means its testing higher than Wonder Woman which is pretty much DC’s biggest hit since Nolan. Thats saying something.

Nah no way. Not a chance in Hell. All WB wants is for Ezra to behave until the movie comes out. They may tell them “we’ll talk after the movie premieres” but they are definitely done in the role.

I wouldn’t put it pass them to keep Ezra Miller in the role, honestly…

Here’s what COULD possibly maybe happen: Ezra is so well received in the film by audiences that it pressures WB into keeping them. If audiences love them..thats creates an interesting predicament.

And heres the thing: its possible. Despite what some of us may think about their performance, i remember they were one of the few things that my audience responded to when i saw JL 2017 in theaters. They were cracking up at all their quips and mannerisms so…they could be a hit with audiences. Maybe.

Lol and people thought all that stuff about them receiving help was genuine

Deadline said this back in June:

Zaslav’s plan to make DC an explosively successful division like Marvel under his newly structured studio, with its own new boss, the non-binary identifying Miller, we hear, is simply not a part of those plans going forward in the future universe regardless if there are more allegations or not.
Guess we'll see..

Gonna be hilarious if this pulls a Josstice League where it was supposedly testing as well as Wonder Woman and then the bad reviews came out

Lets be clear about something, we never heard anything about BvS test screenings. There was one rumor from some scooper who said that supposedly the execs liked the movie and gave it a standing ovation, thats it. Thats not comparable to what we've been hearing from The Flash where we've heard from multiple sources including official legit sources like the Hollywood Reporter that there have confirmed multiple test screenings and that the movie has been consistently charting very well with the test audiences. And we've been hearing this consistently for the better part of this year, too.

Yeah. You don't can a movie if it's testing as well as a Christopher Nolan Batman movie, regardless of Ezra Miller's legal problems.

And if audiences love it, having this movie hit $900M-$1B next year would be a big victory for WBD and Zaslav.

But if the movie's testing this well and it looks to be finished at the end of the year, why not move it up?

Agreed. They really should. Although, time is quickly running out. We’re about to be in september. Where would this movie fit in the remaining months of this year?

I'm referring to moving up The Flash to February or April 2023. If it's THAT good, move it to a prime spot where there's little to no competition with PLF/IMAX availability. I don't see AM: Quantumania doing massive numbers apart from a decent o.w. take.

Late June puts it against every other summer blockbuster. I'd suggest they release it in July, but they're pitting Barbie against Nolan's Oppenheimer.

Because Shazam 2 is in March and they can't afford to move that again. (it is actually the perfect date for it) Fear of Avatar 2 in December is causing all of this.

I dont even bother posting this anymore because people around here don't listen. It is a full on Mandela Effect situation.

Isn’t BvS the movie that Drew McWeeny reported WB execs were very worried about after screenings, which got him subsequently chased off the internet?
