The All Things Flash Thread. - Part 2

...that Jor-El/Pa Kent voice montage still does rip. Not having Cavill in The Flash is going to be a huge hole missing to close out this universe.

[edit]

Superman showing up, Barry breaking time, Cyborg's "I'm not alone" does hit pretty hard, no matter what issues I have with this series.

...just asking The Flash to hit the emotion that scene has.

Just got out. My theater seriously needs to stop messing up the aspect ratio on certain auditoriums in the theater. Black bars on the sides of the screen in the theater is distracting and made me lose focus for a bit. Also I should've gotten more sleep haha. But overall, I did enjoy It and Ezra is much better here than in JL. Keaton was fantastic and I wanted more of him. Its insane how easily he slipped back into the role and now I only wish he'd do one more with Burton. Affleck was better here than he was I every appearance previously too. Enjoyed the cameos for the most part, especially a certain one that was a reshoot.

I will say, I feel like the movie didn't have a ton of focus in certain areas and that something was missing. The CGI was awful and I genuinely have no idea how people can defend it. Overall, I'd give it a 7/10 but I do need to see it again. Good popcorn flick and I loved seeing Keaton again.

The CGI was awful in the final battle, but I thought the opening of the film was great.
You thought the babies scene was great? It was one of the most atrocious to look at (and poorly written) scenes I've seen in a movie for quite some time. :sadcat:

Oh I was referring to the action haha the CGI was bad there too. I should'v worded that differently.

I tried to remain optimistic as far as the VFX were concerned but I have to concede that there were a few moments in here that didn’t look great.

This 100%.

Awful CGI and humor aside I still enjoyed it quite a bit and a 7/10 sounds about right to me. Seeing Keaton in that Batsuit again was glorious and I really liked Sasha Calle as Supergirl.

Batfleck got showed some love too which was nice to see.

I didn't mind most of the cameos either.

Yup. I don't think it's a great film, and I probabaly will enjoy it more on the 2nd viewing but it's a good movie and whenever the elfman notes hit, it was pure bliss. I really wish we'd could get Keaton for another film.

CG wasn’t great there, but I did think it was a fun sequence.
Even without the awful CGI it reminded me of a very poor attempt of that Quicksilver scene stealing moment in Days of Future Past, something that Singer himself unfortunately tried again in a similarly unsuccessful manner in Apocalypse.

The sequence was cool, but yeah the days of future past version of that was way better.

Great movie! Very fun 9/10. Loved seeing Keaton back. Ezra did a really good job. Still didn’t like the lack of more Flash characters and villains, but it was a good fun movie.

Which one was the reshoot?

Still gathering my thoughts, but that was certainly something.

7/10 for me y’all but I’m not feeling hyped and elated coming out if this like i wanted to. I was REALLY chaffing with the overall tone of the movie. It was super jokey and not anything like the tone the trailers promised. I hate it when movies do that. Just be upfront about what kind of movie you are. Ezra was a lot to digest and their comedic acting took me out of the movie a lot and yes that cgi really was awful. Felt like you were watching a cartoon sometimes. Although the VFX were beautiful looking in spots and scenes.

Keaton was AWESOME. I was giddy in all of his scenes except his introductory scene (WTF was that scene?) but overall they did him justice. Calle was great, action scenes were great, music great but the tone, comedy and story were a mess. I have to rewatch it with reset expectations but im overall a bit disappointed but j do think this is a good summer popcorn movie but i wanted it to be so so much more.

Thanks for that. I'll adjust my expectation re the tone

I wasn’t upset that they killed Skywalker… I did get upset how they used his force ghost.

Sadly, Keaton coming back as Batman in The Flash felt like the latter.

Andy doesn’t know how to shoot or frame a cowl, let alone anything else Bat related. Pretty over whatever The Brave & The Bold will be…

Thankfully we have Reeves/Fraser painting with excellence.

There wasn’t one frame that showed Andy knew anything about Batman iconography, let alone he couldn’t even go the easy route by aping Burton/Roger Pratt.

Also, imagine Cudrup in any of those scenes… ahh.

Even the little screen time he has in Zack’s JL, he goes for gold.

Livingston had none of the gravitas or emotion needed to se his relationship with Barry, his incarceration, or loss of his wife.

That was alright. Felt like watching a pilot episode for a TV show that didn't get picked up in how transparently it was designed to set up the never-to-be soft rebooted DCEU. It's really getting at something with the multiple Barry's and the time travel plot but it never totally clicks for me.

Keaton and Calle are great but neither gets anything... terribly meaty to work with? And the way their stories "resolve" is super awkward and makes the whole movie feel a little pointless.

Yeah i agree. I do wish Keaton had something else to go out on honestly. Because it's obvious there's still more they could do with the character. In regards to the rest of the film, there's really no excuse for CGI to be that awful.
