WW for 2018 and Batman solos? WB will want to push those two in the wake of 2017's JL. Batman will always be huge but can WW get the Cao effect. Following upon an uber successful JL and boosting her first film to 800 million?

Whatever, on the heels of JL it seems WB will do a quick follow-up and launch the first of their "dream team" of solos in 2017.

Where did you hear Wonder Woman is coming in 2018?

i hope transformers does not even break 400 mill. But, unfortunately, it will make a billion. Gotg looks to be a lock for at least 400-450 mill. If it gets good reviews and positive word of mouth, 500-600 mill isn't out of the question.

tmnt?

What are the superhero movies coming out next year?

AoU
S6?
Ant Man?

Haha, I don't think that Ant-Man is coming next year (it may but then it would be a winter release )

S6 (Sinister Six ?) is unlikely, so all we have -

Fantastic Four reboot and Avengers: AOU

Only 2 CBM's! Boo! So much for superhero movies over saturating the movie industry.

First Class was done in a year so why can't S6?

Or at least distance itself from Cap 3, B vs S and X-Men: Apocalypse.

Batman Vs Superman, X-Men Apocalypse and Captain America 3 are all going to do mega business, it would be foolish to release The Amazing Spider-Man 3 that year.

I think TASM3 is going to have trouble competing with most CBM sans Thor in the next few years, may just have to bite the bullet in terms of release dates

Wow, all that sounds awesome. Infact it would've made alot more if Sony just left it alone. I hope we get a directors cut soon. Do you believe we'll get one soon?

How would you compare this movie to other marvel films?

I doubt we'll get a director's cut. eh it's hard to compare really but it's my 2nd favorite Spider-Man film as of now.:oldrazz:

Will we ever see your comparison write up of the rough vs theatrical cut Teekay?

ah come on. don't say that. i'm sure we'll get a dire4ctor's cut and hopefully(VERY HOPEFULLY) SONY doesn't plan on ruining either TASM 3 and the sinister six movie because if either one comes in 2016 and we find a bunch of stuff edited out that did not play favorites with the audiance then sony is definitely screwed and right now they are not doing so good at the box office. if sony were so optimistic then they could've let the creative team handle everything just find. infact, i don't see how it's optimistic when your character doesn't know a thing or two about batteries and magnets.

ASM2 with finish at most 30m behind WS and it's close if it will finish ahead of X-Men. Obviously BvS and AoU are on a differnt level right now.

I would love Sony to do their version of punisher with Venom. I mean the current incarnation not the drooling idiot, mouth full of teeth, foot long tongue version.

WW TASM 2 will finish probably $4-$5 million behind TWS. Domestically, it will be over $50 million.

The fact that it finished behind TWS just goes to show how downhill this Spidey franchise is heading. You can't compare the two movies head to head, Spider-Man is bigger than Cap. It's sad how Spidey's become a below mediocre hero in the Box Office.

Still thought Cap 2 had more bank than that. And Cap 3 is going open same day as BvS? They'd best move that or they are going to have their arse handed to them on a plate.

I think someone is going to move. Regardless of who the bigger movie is, opening on the same weekend hurts them both.

Competition is a good thing when they're both starting on the same day. When one comes out a week or two after a movie, then it can take the other one out by the knee caps.

We don't know this. TASM2 could come out ahead of TWS world wide.

Cap 3 will have momentum generated from TWS and AoU, and even if it can't beat BvS it will still do fantastic numbers, if the movie is as good as TWS. Besides, it's only the 3rd Cap movie going up against the behemoth known as BvS; I think if it does almost as good as BvS it will be perceived as a victory.

Even if it does it'll still be a failure both in terms of critical response & how profitable it actually is (which wasn't much, if any). TWS actually earned the studio a worthwhile amount of money.

And I'd agree that either Cap 3 or BvS needs to change its date. I don't forsee either movie handing the other its ass, but having both be released on the same day isn't going to help either movie.

Or I could be wrong & it might help both in the long run, who knows?

Spin it anyway you want, essentially the same amount of people came out to see Spidey as Cap. Also with regards to profits, the way some people go on you'd think Cap 2 was made for free.

It won't. TWS will win the WW battle.

Sure, TWS was still an expensive film, but TASM2 had almost 100 more mil put into it just on productions costs, let alone the differences in marketing. That, the fact Marvel gets the merchandise money from Cap 2 (while Sony doesn't for TASM2), and the fact TWS made a fair amount more domestically, TWS was the more profitable film for their studio.

No one is privvy to Sony's back end.
No one knows how much was given in product placement.
The Evian trailer would have cost a good chunk of change.
Sony are about to back up the money truck for Garfield, I very much doubt that would do that if ASM2 were the profits disaster some people out.

All of that doesn't even take into consideration DVD/Blu ray, Syndication and residuals. Sony would make its money back even if this movie had flopped.

So THAT makes TASM2 a success ?

Failing, with your 5th outing, to match the audience of the 2nd film in the franchise of a former B-List character made for 85M less is what you personally think Sony should be happy with in spite of the financial and criticial downward spirale in which this franchise is trapped ?

I'm really sorry to have to point this out again but a sequel grossing 710M+ coming from a 370M film is not the same thing as a 705M+ sequel coming from a 757M film. If you fail to see that those show completely different business perspectives, then keep on spinning but you're only convincing yourself here.

The fact is Sony spent around 450M+ to produce and promote TASM2 and they are not going to break even in theaters. Period. And you don't spend this kind of money only hoping to make a meager profit out of tax breaks and product placements and God know's what else. You don't expect to get any less than what you got from your previous/less expensive outing in the franchise, especially (and I'm forseeing SM/SM2 comparisions AGAIN) when it's a matter of breaking even or not. When you are in the financial situation of Sony Pictures Entertainment you want the money and you want it now, not next year when the New York film office will issue your long awaited tax-break.

It doesn't mean they won't keep on making more Spider-Man films, essentially because they HAVE to (even though I think is it's going to be a serious question after TASM3 if the movie fails to reverse that downward trend, and I think, without a doubt, that it will fail just to be clear) it just means that we are going to see more and more studio interferences predictably leading to another, shallow, unbalanced, noisy, overproduced mess of a movie that is going to be panned by critics and audiences alike. The only question that really matters now is how long the franchise can sustain a series of extremely expensive films with bad/mixed reception and dissapointing financial returns without hitting the point of no-return ?

Is this based on that Daily Star rumor?
