Hey guys I'm on the Rochester set and I can tell you 100 percent theirs no Spider Man on set. A guy has been running around dressed in a Spidey costume that's all, its just a guy getting attention. Just more of the chase scene today, so far only slow traffic shots of taxi's and cars, buses. Been talking to a P.A. for a while, but now everyone went to lunch.

Isn't this the old TASM suit??

Oh man! I hope it is.

OH MY ****ING GOD, IT IS!!!
Maybe this is the opening sequence of the film? Spidey is in high pursuit of the Rhino, they fight and Rhino beats up Spidey pretty bad and tears his suit to pieces and that's why we get the new suit :D

That would raise a question on why he'd get a new suit if Rhino tears it, but he didn't need a new suit when Lizard raked his claws through it in the first film.

Wait when was the scene with him stopping someone pretending to Spider-Man confirmed? Haven't seen anything about that...

Once again, just so everyone is clear there's no old Spider Man costume from TASM, just a guy in a Halloween costume from earlier, he wasn't on set or even filmed. No footage of Spider Man will be shot today, just some car crashes from the Oscorp Armored Car chase

That's nice news for me. I kind of want the movie to start with the new suit. Fresh start. Symbolizes the new hero he is, and the new movie.

Opening casting call in NYC next Friday, I'll be there for sure.

I like to think we a great line of talent in the Spidey villain department so far.

Potentially all of those actors (if Ifans does end up having a cameo) will be in this movie... that's pretty freakin incredible

better than anything I could've ever imagined in a spidey film

I'm really wanting to see some pics of Chris Cooper as Osborn. I'm very curious to see how he steps into that role. I think he's the only actor we haven't seen any of yet.

Also, I've been wondering lately what kind of role Aunt May is going to play in this time around. In my opinion she had some of the most wasted potential from the first film. I feel like it's all there we just didn't get to see much of it.

Don't forget felicity jones! Doubt she's playing a huge role though.

I think Aunt May and Peter has an interesting relationship in this series. Very different from the raimi series. Very real.

Was that ever confirmed? I remember hearing a rumor about her but I never gave it much thought.

I feel the same way, but May needed more to say. Outside of his love interest, May is the most important relationship in Peter's life. I mean, there were literal scenes that were just Sally Field reacting to something and not saying a word, which you don't really want to do. If you have Sally Field, let her say a few words. She's pretty good at it.

From what I did see, I really do love her as May. I was pretty much sold from the get-go because I was never ok with Raimi casting geriatrics as Peter's aunt and uncle.

Damn I just watched a video of a video. Inception. Thats so cool though!!! UGGGHHHH that shot looks amazing. So happy that all these cool scenes are in the day time too compared to the first film.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it had her name in the official synopsis.

I agree with you that she needed more dialogue. Hopefully that's all balanced in the sequel. Nothing's perfect (usually) so I can guarantee there'll be flaws in the sequel even with things that they've improved.

From what Webb stated during the film's commentary, he wanted there to be tension bewteen May and Peter and have their bond get stronger as time passes. I think we saw that tension during most of ASM until towards the end when Peter brings home the eggs and then her words of encouragement towards him after Gwen leaves. IMO, we'll only see their relationship get 'better' throughout the film and hopefully May will have a larger role with Peter.

One thing I was wondering about is how it became somewhat evident that Aunt May was picking up on the fact that Peter is Spider-man and how that could play out in the sequel.

Yeah I could easily imagine that shot from the set videos lol. Every single chase scene always has a low angle, diagonal shot. Nolan loves it. Bay humps it.

Ugh. Just seeing Nolan and Bay used in the same paragraph makes my skin crawl. Ugh! There it is again!

It seems like she would definitely put two and two together, especially after him coming home all beaten and bloodied after the Lizard incident. I'm really not sure how it would play out. I kind of liked how in USM, May actually hates Spidey because she feels like ever since he appeared her life had taken a turn for the worse. She didn't take the news too well after Peter told her the truth either. If she already know in this continuity then I guess we'll just see the supportive side of her take over. And honestly, once that happened in USM it was pretty cool. May became the adopted mother of like 3 or 4 teen superheroes for a while and it was really fun to read.

...is awesome!!! Reminds me to the TDK tunnel scene (with the garbage trucks and the Tumbler).

Yeah, just from what we saw and how May was reacting to Peter, the news, etc. my guess is that she def knows. I could see the same sort of scenario playing out that happened with USM, well, with the exception of the adopted superheroes of course. Although I don't think Aunt May would be angry with Peter about it, maybe a little worried or even disappointed, but imo, I don't think she'll be angry with him. Unless of course, he happens to do the same thing with SM2 and explain that he had a chance to stop the guy that killed Ben but failed to act.
