Great shot

Know what else would be great? If Sony released a director's cut of the first film that may make me actually enjoy it just so I don't end up only liking the sequel...if there's no DC, I have a feeling that is what's going to happen...

So here's a little theory I came up with that might support Gwen dying in this film.

In the ASM commentary, Marc Webb mentioned how the opening scene of a film should be a metaphor for a the film itself. In this case, it was Peter looking for his father, playing hide & seek and eventually losing his parents.

What know there's going to be a plane crash sequence, and most likely it'll be the opening scene, right?

So I figure it'll be representative of the story in which the consequence and sacrifices of someone who tries to be a hero and responsible suffers; in this case death and loss. Thoughts?

Wow pretty good. I'll be surprised if that is true.

All you guys have watched the movie with commentary and I think I'm the only one who hasn't because I'm clueless every time I read, "Marc says in the commentary.." Hahah

interesting.

I find it sad that the Daily Bugle nor Jameson seem to be making an appearance in this installment. Mostly because the Daily Bugle is so iconic to Spider-Man. It's basically like the Daily Planet to Superman. Its hard to have a film without it.

As far as JK Simmons being the only person for the job, they could always go for a completely different take/ outlook on the character. I don't think JK is the only person who could ever play that role. Although, he was probably the best page-to-screen transition of all the characters. I guess it didn't hurt that he was portrayed the SAME as the comics. Often the characters are changed in some way.

The Daily Bugle was in this franchise from the beginning. I'm assuming Peter will get a job there in this film. That's also probably why we haven't seen Felicity Jones yet. If she is Betty Brant, they would be filming in an office indoors.

Yeah he'll either get a job there at the end of this film or next one I think.

I hope the Bugle plays a big role in this movie.

Bugle would be cool to see. Esp. after reading USM's Daily Bugle stuff, it would be cool to see this universe's Daily Bugle. Not sure if we'll see much because we haven't heard any word of it yet? (Besides the truck spottings..)

I, personally, feel the best way to introduce the new J. Jonah Jameson (whoever will play him) would be to have it where Betty Brant tells Peter that Jameson is a hard man to approach and if he gets some pictures of Spider-Man, he'll get a chance to have a meeting with him, and possibly get hired.

During the credits, Peter presents the photos to Jameson and he could be like how Simmons played it:

"Good... good... crap, crap, CRAP, very crappy, yeesh I'm not even going to touch that. Wait... what's this? Amazing! Spectacular! Astounding! What's your name? Ah, it's not important, you're hired. Now, get out of my office in the next 5 seconds and get me more pictures or kiss this job goodbye."

It'd be nice to get Needs or Ben Urich, or Robbie Robertson in the movie.

i hope spidey surfing the car (looks awesome btw) doesn't equate to him not being able to swing in a straight line instead.

i hope there's a combination of parkour and swinging as he catches up to the truck.

we know he doesn't run out of webs because he yanks the two guys out the back of the armored car. though, i guess he could reload at some stage.

haha. him jumping and flipping from car to car would be great to see, i guess i'm just anxious about the web swinging aspect of these new movies.

ps. look how far peter has come here vs. running from the cops in tasm1. there's no comparison lol.

yeah, plus the fact we haven't seen the stunt guy until the last day of shooting may indicate that the vast majority of spider-man in this sequence will be cgi, which itself means things like web swinging and crazy acrobatics etc.

damn, i really hope this movie opens with this scene (perhaps after the plane crash flashback)

I feel you. I want some pretty gnarly acrobatics and aerial stuff. Just real classic spidey visuals. Kind of like the stuff he was doing in the SWAT fight in TASM, but 10x more haha.

We saw that in the final swing. So it's safe to assume we'll get a whole lot more in the sequel. Spidey is a virtuoso now. He's pro. I bet we see all kinds of classic poses. Webb seems to dig that stuff.

This Spidey suit on top of speeding police cars? Now that’s amazing.

I'm not sure how they'll handle the Bugle here. I wouldn't mind if they witheld it for a third movie, to be honest. Though a lead-in at the end of this one would be nice.
