I'm surprised they never mentioned Harry in TASM.

What if they do something like Scream, and Harry and Norman are both the Green Goblin.

i think the film will make us think Harry is the goblin, and it will either be norman, or actually Harry...

Ugh, no.

I know we saw Norman as GG in Raimi's film, there are plenty of ways to give us a Norman Osborn/Green Goblin story that is surprising for us all. I mean, Raimi's film only scratched the surface of the Goblin's depth as a character. So many more stories to tell, so many ways to twist what's familiar to us or to defy what we THINK we happen.

I just hate how people are jumping to, "Well, maybe Harry will be the Goblin this time."..or things like that. Silly scenarios that undermine the true potential of Norman Osborn bother me. I mean, it's widely known that he's Spider-man's arch-nemesis. To have Harry be involved from the get-go, or even at all at this point, seems pointless to me.

but still spidey fans are paranoid about everything, looking for hints of gwens death in everything, hints of rhino, hints that green goblin is coming but really it probably is just nothing

SO UNLESS I SEE HARRY WEARING UNDERWEAR WITH LITTLE GREEN GOBLINS ON IT I STILL SAY ITS GRASPING AT STRAWS!! :oldrazz:

Valid point. You know how us fan boys are. We see a pic of Harry near the GREEN tea shop. We loose our f***ing minds!! He's the goblin ik it!!!:wow::wow:

This and that you'd think Peter would know Norman Osborn to an extent as well if he knew Harry, but nothing of a mention of that as well.

i think i've mentioned this before, but to me it seems like they added harry and mj to the story as an afterthought.

Good to hear.
(Ill post this in the costume thread too, but figured it wouldnt hurt here either) Here's another photo of Justin, The Amazing Spider-Fan with Spidey. Not sure if this is Andrew or William. Anywho, suit looks good.

Quite possibly my favorite shot of the new suit

I agree. There's no need to start veering off so far from the source material when there's still a lot you can mine from it.

harry was the goblin at one point in the comics though, wasn't he?

i kind of hope they go the tssm route and make us think it is harry, but it ends up being norman. or they could give equal hints to it being either one of them.

a nice whodunnit in a spider-man movie lol.

Harry is one of the most interesting characters in the Spidey world, and I don't think DeHaan would have taken the role if it didn't have some serious dramatic meat.

So I know they'll do the character justice. Which I'm excited for, since Harry was one of my favorite aspects of the Raimi films, and I'm giggled like a schoolgirl by the possibility of having two different and equally amazing takes on such a great character.

I'm hoping Webb and co get into the junkie aspect of the character.

different dynamic as goblin wears a mask / has a transformation which hides the person's true identity. he doesn't work [BLACKOUT]via proxy.[/BLACKOUT]

a more apt comparison would be how tssm did it.

I actually would like that a lot, it would could make a good mystery in the film, for both spectators and comic readers (some scene where Peter's sure that GG is Norman, but GG attacks while they're together in the same room, IDK something like that :P)

There's not going to be any ******** twist with the GG revealed to be Sandman from Spider-Man 3 or something, can we get twists out of our heads, please guys? It's getting old now.

Only thing I see them doing is having people think it's Harry.

well that would be a twist then. if they make u think it is harry but it turns out to be norman.

It wouldn't be a ******** twist though. ;D

I see them doing it very similar to how TSSM did it.

TASM 2 feels incredibly like TSSM anyways, which is amazi- spectacular. :D

And I guess the only way that would be believable, is if the Goblin is the result of genetic tampering. Otherwise who would believe that scrawny Harry is the Goblin? Unless they put him in an armored suit like Raimi's Goblin.

I don't see Chris Cooper hiding a body of Adonis underneath his clothes either.

Effects and costume will most likely be the route.

I'm surprised they never mentioned Harry in TASM.

Why? it's not like the writers had it planned out or anything. They just decided they wanted to introduce the character in TASM2 and went with the contrived "old best buddies from the past" route.

This and that you'd think Peter would know Norman Osborn to an extent as well if he knew Harry, but nothing of a mention of that as well.

You'd think so. You'd think names like "Oscorp" and "Norman Osborn" would ring a bell in Peter's head.

i think i've mentioned this before, but to me it seems like they added harry and mj to the story as an afterthought.

What? are you accusing the writers of looking for quick/cheap/easy pathos by inserting Harry as the "long lost best buddy"? Surely, the filmmakers had this planned all along.
