Guys, this morning was the SDCC ticket resale & I was able to get tickets for Thursday & Friday!! Might try to get into the Sony panel again if that's on Friday.

I'm pretty late on things today, but, yeah I think she might be playing Felicia and then she becomes Black Cat in ASM 3. Maybe the Kingpin will be in ASM 3 since Avi and Matt confirmed they own the rights to him.

Actually, they share Kingpin's rights with Marvel. Considering what nearly happened with The Avengers and ASM last year, take from that what you will.

i hate when people automatically assume that just because a villians human persona is announced that people think the villian persona will be in the movie some people just love to hate

This series is more like a comic book story arc, so I almost see this as "the amazing spiderman" issue #2.
Or Issue #1, as a lot of people including myself saw TASM as Issue #0. Haha well kinda.

I heard about the resales from a friend on twitter this morning. Dissapointed I missed out. Guess I'll be at SDCC 2015 for that TASM3 panel.

You can't rename the series to Spectacular or Ultimate without the average Joe thinking "They rebooted it again!".

Although, I wanted Spectacular, I'm also aware of the complications it would give.

Why issue #0? Its part one of a story arc.

I guess because this is a movie about him becoming Spider-Man. Not a bunch of time seen of him AS Spider-Man? But yeah I could see it as Issue #1 as well.

I am going to SDCC and I am going to ask Marc Webb if he or Sony ruined ASM1.

really? if true please don´t do it....... imagine if you did an awesome painting in your point of view , you take it to an exhibition and some guy went near you and says "who ruined your painting?" i know doesn´t make sense but , What´s the point? What´s done is done.

Yeah in all honesty you'd look nothing more than an ass.

What do you want him to say or even gain out of it other than potentially making him feel bad?

i mean is TASM really that important to you that you would go there just to tell him that?

i think the sony executives or whoever they were got anxious when viewing the first cut. they probably thought general audiences would negatively react to peter being predestined to become spider-man (kind of like ang lee's hulk) based on his unique biology or what have you.

better to introduce such a """radical departure""" less bluntly, and over the course of future films.

the fact they kept the ratha death scene on the blu-ray tells me that they have not abandoned the idea of peter being "chosen" to become spider-man.

of course, who knows exactly what they did delete from the first cut; it could have been a whole bunch of stuff, unrelated to the untold story, as well.

Do we have any legitimate evidence of Peter being predestined to become Spider-Man? The only thing I see hinting to that would be the "Do you think what happened to you was an accident?" line in the trailer. However, that line could mean many things depending on the context. There is a possibility that what Connors meant was that Peter surviving the spider bite and getting powers was no accident because they've been working on genetically engineering spiders for a long time. We shouldn't jump to conclusions that Peter was predestined to become Spidey in Ang Lee Hulk style yet. Think about how silly that would be as well. "Oh Peter, it was your father's plan all along for you to go to Oscorp one day, accidentally drop some sheets when the right guy walks by, and then follow him to the room with the spiders where you will get your powers (because I can already assume where he is going and that you will be foolish enough to get so close to the spiders)."

My personal guess? Peter survived the spider bite because his dad created the spiders out of his own blood or made his own blood immune to them. And since Peter has his father's blood, it makes sense why he wouldn't die like the other test subjects have. This doesn't necessarily mean that Richard Parker intended for Peter to become Spider-Man.

If they do go the predestined route, I am going to be extremely dissapointed. Spider-Man is not Superman. He was not destined to do greatness since he was a child. Peter gained his powers entirely by accident and eventually came to the conclusion that he should use them responsibly. That is always what I loved about Spider-Man's origin. The idea of Peter being predestined to become Spider-Man is unnecessary and I really hope they don't go there. It was stupid & pointless when JMS did it in the comics and it would be stupid & pointless here too.

@shikamaru: well yeah, that's what i meant by predestined to become spider-man. the dynamic has changed from wrong place, wrong time - could happen to anyone, to wrong place, wrong time - could only happen to peter

the whole "do you have any idea who you really are?" / "no, but it (the science) is working very well on you" give strong vibes that peter was unique in some sense prior to getting bitten.

i think it is this that scared the executives, so they cut the "untold story" aspect.

The title is fine, why are people complaining?
Yeah, it's ok. Nothing to get terribly upset about. It works.

I don't think we will see Black Cat in TASM2 - but we may, who knows?, but I'd be all for a Felicia Hardy appearance. Chances are we will see Black Cat in a Garfield film at some point.

I am surprised there is no thread for this, but the news about Felicity Jones is great. While she certainly does not have the traditional Felicia Hardy "look," she is still absolutely stunning and beyond that a great actress. She could pull it off in the sequels.

yes very...any news about the amazing spider man 2 panel in the las vegas licensing expo???
