That sounds weird...I can't believe they just moved an entire character over. That makes me wonder if Sony decided to expand the movie (hence ASM3 AND 4 being announced rather than keeping this a trilogy) and is giving them some breathing room for Gwen's death. If so, thank you for being smart about this Sony. Thank you.

"But I am a firm believer in everything happening for a specific reason... Based on the proposed plot, I completely understand the need for holding off introducing Mary Jane until the next film."

Whoa is this legit? That's real shocking and quite a bummer if it's true.

Damn, that's kinda shocking. I guess they figured out that she was just in three scenes or so and that they were having character congestion.

This phrase can be telling us two things:
1. Too many characters, she can be thrown out of the movie.
2. Maybe his character breaks another. My guess here is that Gwen's having a big part and having two love interest can make the movie dizzy to follow.

Since Woodley is being saved for the next movie, I could still see Gwen dying in TASM2. Have Peter angry and grieving when MJ shows up in TASM3, and have her help him out of that darkness. Then she carries over into TASM4.

Maybe she'll even have a very small part in TASM2 just to introduce her character.

i wonder if this means she won't be in tasm2 at all or if they'll just have one tiny little cameo of her to sort of tease something, let people know they will be introducing her properly in the next one? like maybe just that bit where she gets out of the sandwich shop during the rhino rampage, with no lines or anything. how likely would that be?

Those films were criticized for feeling incomplete, if I remember correctly, and if ASM2 is just a lead up into a next film, then it runs the risk of being bashed for many of the reasons ASM was by some critics.

not exactly my point maybe is like this the film ends on a high note like a reveal and then TASM 3 continues DIRECTLY at the same point not 2 years later or something like that

WAAAAAAAAAAIT we saw Emma and Shaline Woodley filming a scene so that means that and the cafe scene are beeing ignored?

or maybe they are saving the "Gwen and MJ" scene for TASM 3?

I think they may be cut altogether, seeing as how the ASM3 script hasn't even been written yet. But who knows? Maybe they'll still be used in some capacity.

I'm getting really worried about this franchise.

Announcing The Amazing Spider-Man 3 and The Amazing Spider-Man 4 pretty early, cutting out Woodley in this film, the thought of having Electro, Rhino AND Gobby (possibly) in this film while also introducing (again, possibly) Adrian Toomes along with the supposed Sinister Six plan for the fourth entry with Black Cat is just nuts.

Now, that's just pure speculation, but jeez. Too many things all at once, if it turns out to be true.

I just hope Marc Webb and co. know what they're doing, or else this series is going to be a mess, larger than Spider-Man 3.

of course she'll get paid, she worked, whether they use the footage or not.

and jane levy looks like emma's twin and even younger than shailene, she'd look too weird as a love interest.
