Who's to say the twist, if there is one, would be revealed in this film?

I'm still a fan of the 90's Spider-Man. TSSM was good, but the fact that it was only 2 seasons makes it fall short in my eyes. CDB all the way, he's still the voice that pops into my head as Spider-Man.

He would have made a great live action Peter Parker back in the day (meaning the 90's).

Apparently he's providing the voice to Superior Spider-man in the Marvel Heroes game.

I think people over their heads thinking Felicity is Felicia, she could be, but she could also be another character from the comics, or....even just written for the movie.

not saying she won't be, I hope she is, I've been wanting a live-action Black Cat for years....but just don't expect her to be that as she might not be (and avoid dissapointment)

On what Felicity said in that interview, she could either Norman's or Harry's girlfriend. most likely the latter. I have a feeling though that they'll be pulling our leg throughout the whole movie for a BIG finale.

CDB and JK are my favorite voice actors for Spider-Man bar none
@Scarletless Agreed this has got me confused in yet very excited.

NO NO NO. This is not even a possibility! She's def an undercover sleeper agent, dating Harry so she can get to Norman's fortune (Like Selina in TDKR). It's a vast, complicated conspiracy... possibly involving the Chameleon impersonating Mysterio.

Yeah first season was amazing.
But censorship killed that series for me. Spidey wasn't even allowed to punch anyone and as a result seemed pretty weak. Not to mention his reaction time was slow too. That's why I was amazed by the Unlimited Spider-man, who was pretty much untouchable(meaning he dodged lotsa ***** thrown at him :woot:).

... What about this Menace Goblin Girl? Lilly Hollister. Wasn't she dating Harry and got pregnant by Norman? Would make the confusion perfect.

Correct. Also an issue is whether having a "twist" is actually worthwhile to the story. More often than not, the twist is either weak, predictable or negates what we've been shown/told up to that point in the film (See any Shymalan movie).

I'd prefer they concentrate on telling a solid story rather than going for gimmicky "twists" which are really only there for shock value (they never have the same impact on the the second, third viewing, etc...thus making them useless).

Additionally, I have higher expectations for a Spider-Man film. Though the "surprise revelation" seems to be a big trend these days (IM3, TDKR, STID)...

Ah, it depends on the twist. A twist done well, one that is in keeping with the story itself, can be wonderful. The Sting is a perfect example of a great twist done well. And, though it's ironic now given this director's current status, The Sixth Sense was another wonderful example of an expertly crafted twist.

Now, if they build up the Goblin mystery over two films, I think it could work. It would be an interesting way to go, and I wouldn't be opposed to them using Harry as the "Red herring" in the first film, if it's handled well. If they approach the Goblin as a character shrouded in mystery the entire time, with Spider-man constantly trying to figure out who he is, a twist reveal wouldn't seem out of place. The issue with some of the movies you mentioned (IM2, TDKR) is that there was no real sense of mystery about the characters that ended up being red herrings.

So you suggesting, her character is replacing, what was suppose to be the Proto-Goblin from the first film?

Hmmmm.............

Hence the "more often than not". The Sting is an excellent con film :yay:

The reason I see this "twist" theory as lame and unecessary is because we, the audience know that the Goblin will be either Norman or Harry. No real sense of mystery or suspense there- and not very shocking once revealed either. What would a "twist" or change up like this ultimately bring to the story?

The child was confirmed to be Harry's eventually

I know it's preview night but I mean c'mon. Will we the non-attendees really get something cool? Eh. I bet they only close to exciting thing we'll get is news on panel day. Not to be a downer but just thinking realistically.

However if a teaser trailer is out within the next few days...that's a different story.

The one thing I'm fearing in the movie is the convenience factor. I don't want everything to fall into place easily. Things happen and then make up some bogus reasoning to justify everything.

I still say there puffing out smoke. GG is not someone you just bring out like that, if anything he's top secret.

Why are all these Comic-Con movies getting things? Character posters and what not. Geez. Give us something for Spider-Man!! Haha I'm just so spoiled from Marc's daily tweets. Just a bit irritating.
