There's no doubt that they're going bigger with this film--I personally just wish they wouldn't.

I don't mind bigger for the action. But those intimate, characters moments, I hope they continue to be that. Intimate.

With the news that Nolan and Bale are on board for the Justice League (Latino Review) I will be very surprised if Spidey doesn't appear in the Avengers.
Nolan and Bale on JL is BIG news and potentially will steal the Avengers thunder (no Thor jokes :oldrazz:) so a way of getting that thunder back is recruiting THE biggest Marvel star and that is Spider-Man regardless of the Irn Man fans would have you believe.

So what is the bigger draw;

Justice League with Batman and Superman

or

Avengers with Spider-Man

2015 come soon enough :yay:

There is of course more chance of Bats appearing in JL than Spidey in Avengers, due mainly to the fact that Warners owns Bats and JL (DC) whilst Sony hold the film rights to spidey.

It could happen. I just don't want to see spidey (this version anyway) appear in an Avengers film. This universe of Spidey seems to not fit with the whole Thor and Thanos characters and the way that universe is set up.

The two unvierses look the same to me, right down to the technology on the Helicarrier and Oscorp.

The original line-up had Batman and Superman.

You're right. I could have swear the original line up was Aquaman, Black Canery, Martian Manhunter, Flash and Green Lantern but Wiki says Batman and Superman were part of the team as well.

IMO, they wouldn't fit. The tone of the Marvel films and the Sony spidey films feels very different to me.

Nolan's Batman is way more of a mismatch for Justice League than Webb's Spider-Man for The Avengers.

I honestly don't really care for a JL film as it just seems to be a quick cash in on WB's part. (I don't mean to come accoss as rude with this :yay:)

From what I've seen with MOS, it seems to have in many ways a similar tone to Nolans Batman. But that's only from trailers to be fair. It will then all depend on how they approach their other characters. In a similar way to bats and supes?

But Webbs spidey, IMO, still feels like a mismatch. The fact that Webbs film gives no hint at Gods, alien life etc whilst the Marvel films hinted through connections is a big deal. Webbs TASM is meant to feel gritty and more grounded. The Marvel films are meant to be more over the top and fantastical. This is why it would feel out of place.

If they can get a different version of spidey, then fine. I would just like it if Webbs would stay in his own films.

All IMO.

Covert Op complete. #ASM2

I wonder what he's alluding to...

Well anyway, I hope it happens (Spidey in A2 and Bale in JL).

STOP WITH THE D*** TEASING. There is only so much I can take :(

lol

I think Sony's Spider-Man would fit in just fine. The two universes don't feel that different to me. TASM could've been an MCU film.

Heck, not all the MCU films to begin with have the same tone. IM 1 & 2, TIH, Cap and Avengers, and Thor all have distinctive tones from one another yet they fit just fine.

Nolan's Batman is way more of a mismatch for Justice League than Webb's Spider-Man for The Avengers.

To be fair, the only reason they would use Nolan's Batman for JL is simply for a cash in. No other reason whatsoever since Nolan's Batman is clearly not a good version to be used for Justice League especially post-TDKR.

Not that Sony and Marvel would have no financial reason whatsoever to use Sony's version of Spider-Man in their Avengers films but they seem to have at least some sort of plan or idea on how to integrate him in and do him justice. They also seem to partly do it for the fans as well while WB could care less.

Must've missed all those alien and gods references in Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk as well as the alien references in Cap, Thor, and IM2.

I wouldn't describe TASM as "gritty". Sure that it's a lot more grounded and mature than the Raimi films but "gritty" is something I would associate with Batman and the Punisher. TASM is not that dark. It has plenty of fun and lighthearted moments, as well as plenty of color.

I don't think the Marvel film feel that different at all. It's why they all work well together come the big movie.

In the end, it's something I don;t want. I want Webbs spidey to remain its own. And it's something I don;t see happening. But a version of Spidey appearing in the Avengers that isn't Webbs? Possibly.

Well I wouldn't say WB couldn't care less about the fans. I know there's a few of us (including myself) who are thrilled to have Bale back in the cowl. Assuming it's true.

I hope he tones down the Bat-voice though. :-/

Raimi's Spidey would have fit better with the Avengers universe than Webb's, I think. That said, I wouldn't be opposed to Webb's version showing up.

If Webb's Spider-Man doesn't appear in The Avengers, do you realize how long it's going to take to get Spider-Man in an Avengers film?

Hint: A long time.

I think most MCU films have had a similar tone so far, not similar in style or genre maybe, but mos def in general feel. And personally I don't feel like TASM feels like MCU.

Fair enough.

Ask yourself if it is in the best interest of the character to use Nolan's version though. There are plenty of problems and things that could be avoided completely by using a new version.

Nothing like ending a Spidey-filled day with Spidey himself giving you a salute and a high-five on my way outta the gym. Luckiest dude ever!

I envy you big time, sir .

I doubt that. I don't necessary think only Eddie Brock should be Venom, but I doubt it would serve a good purpose to be Harry. We'll see though, for all we know the USM Peter/Eddie type of dynamic could be chosen for Peter/Harry this time around. That way we won't see the same thing from the last films again, both Harry and Venom-wise.

if harry did become venom i still think it would work quite well
