Because it's electronica for people who don't really listen to electronic music. It's the bubble gum, mainstream pop of electronic music, like how Skillrex is the Katy Perry of electronic music. Is this really gonna turn into a debate of questionable elements of the movie being thrown up in the air and asking "Why is this looked at as bad? Maybe it's actually not bad." in order to stifle criticisims aimed towards this movie.

Fair enough. I like dubstep:)

I used to hate dubstep. I like/ can appreciate it now.

It is to me what all music has always been, a mixed bag. I love some of it, I hate some of it. I don't judge by genre. I'm partial to rock, but there are songs from country, rap, r&b, blues, jazz, electronic, folk (from all over the world), lounge, swing, and classic artists that I enjoy. And I like to take influences from each of them with my guitar and piano work.

That's just probably how Peter talks to his long lost, old buddy Harry. There's a chumminess that's different than how he interacts with Gwen and Aunt May.

Agreed.

For people not liking the accent.

If the movie is really good, these things never matter in the long run
Its only if the movie is bad that people start to nitpick these things

Despite the fun, innocent acronym, DUMBO, Brooklyn was the scene of an old-fashioned gun battle today when factions of the Russian mob and The Big Man’s gang escalated their ongoing war for control of the city’s organized crime, culminating in a dramatic shootout along Jay Street that left three dead and the police scrambling for answers.
Despite the tragic outcome, police found a silver lining as security camera footage captured the first visual confirmation of the reputed Big Man leaving the scene with his crew (the Enforcers). Police spokesman, Major Crimes Unit Sergeant Stan Carter, said the image would not be revealed to the general public until the department’s analysis of the footage was completed.
Sources indicate that the video footage confirmed the involvement of the Big Man’s Enforcers, including Fancy Dan Brito, Jackson Montana Brice and Raymond “The Ox” Bloch, all of whom were out on bail from previous criminal charges. The police identified the victims as Anatoly Melikov, Gennady Panarin, and Evgeny Teryoshin, all reputed members of Alexsei Sytsevich’s Brighton Breach crew.

Eeeeee ah this makes me very very happy, maybe we'll get to see them on film? Even as a cameo that would just be amazing!:hubba

Also, Dubstep. Why? It's like they're just trying to add as many questionable aspects to this movie as possible. I hope it turns out well, I really do, but I can definitely see where criticism can be aimed and as to why some people are on the fence with it. I really hope all of this "newfound confidence" talk isn't a load of PR babble.
What do you mean, "why dub step?" Because people like it?

For the accent, I have no idea, Andrew usually does a great accent, even when he speaks normally, his accent doesn't even sound that british really.

In TASM, I didn't hear any inconsistency or anything, his voice is high indeed in the clip, who knows, that might be an audio thingy, or maybe Peter is taking on a slightly different personality when he's with Harry, like taking on another persona?! Who knows, maybe that's what's going on, or he's trying to sound cooler than he is.

Thanks but they most likely ripped it from whichever website debuted it first. For example, Yahoo! Movies had the Electro/Spider-Man clip and E! Online had the Peter/Gwen clip. Some other entertainment website must have just debuted this new Peter/Harry clip.

Agreed. People are pulling an AnnoDomini here.

Why are all of these clips being released so early? Usually it's a little less than a month before release when clips start coming in. Even though it's coming in mid-April overseas, these are still sort of early even for that date.

Okay, i'm gonna say this one more time because some people didn't really pay any attention the first two times that i said it. I'm not using spoiler tags, because honestly, it's not that big of a spoiler.

PETER CATCHES A COLD AT SOME POINT IN THE MOVIE AND THAT'S PROBABLY WHY HIS VOICE SOUNDS SO "JARRING".

Dubstep is awful. There are a few exceptions, and mostly the ones who blend dubstep with other genres to create something special, but the wub-wub dubstep is possibly the worst thing ever.

He seems a bit like a young Marlon Brando or Robert De Niro in the scene with Harry, sort of very streetwise. But you know what, being around certain people does bring out different sides in people. I just hope they haven't turned him too street in this one.

Its just wrist it's all in the wrist buddy

I disagree. I think this is just how Peter's going to talk with his bro, Harry. He's speaking a bit more informally and throwing in different accents.

EDIT: Just judging from the trailers, the only time Peter's voice sounds normal around Harry is when he's alarmed.

Harry: Look's like my father's been watching you more than me.
Peter: Why???

He gave me the impression that he had caught a cold. Especially when he says

It's just the wrist, it's all in the wrist buddy.

Does that mean the Daily Bugle Tumblr might release a pic of the Big Man & the Enforcers just as a cool thing for fans, or they might show up in the film as a cameo? Cause they've been talking about them a ton on here, even back when this first started up.

my accent doesn't change when i get a cold though

andrew just went overboard on the accent imo, it's not that big a deal, but it's noticeable

No problem with it being used "straight faced." As a musician, I never close my mind to different genres. They all have potential.

Dubstep is something that just about everything has dipped into at one in point or another though. It's something is almost universally looked down upon, and is rarely ever looked to as something positive, because as I said it's looked at as the dumbed down version of electronica. The mainstream pop version.

Most comments I've seen that have to do with that clip point out that particular moment as the pitfall of the entire clip. It just feels so forced, just adding a solid bass behind the electro bolt sizzle would have been good, but the dubstep element just makes it seem lame and flaccid.

It's something that could also age the movie pretty badly if it's utilized heavily enough.
