I hope Marc Webb is reading this stuff man...

He should be.The job of a director isn't just to work with actors. They also need to work with writers and screenwriters to bring the script into a screen. For this they need to look up and research the character. For a movie like Spiderman's ,with the forums , it becomes easier for them since they can view the fan's opinions and then from there they can decide whether or not to bring their vision as close to how the fans want it and how the GA will want it.What I want them to do now is just make their presence known on the forums and work with fans(i.e. ask fans what CBM arc they like to see incorporated and Which[insert comic book character name] costume they like?,What version of a character they like in comic books?)

he probably doesnt read the forums, fans want different things and you can't please everyone and sometimes what the fans want isn't always good for the film

How do you know?(For the bolded part).

For the Underlined part

That's why I said,he doesn't need to please everyone.Just take the ideas and then make it so it's the best of both worlds.

Off Topic:Has anyone read the leaked Deadpool script?

The only way I could accept Gwen dying in this film is if something happens to her while she is in the midst of aiding Spidey. (Similar to the 3rd act of ASM1).

Spidey would believe Electro is responsible and spend the rest of the film hunting him down, only to find out it wasn't him. It was Norman. Possibly, during his first transformation.

Of course, this would happen offscreen. So technically, there'd still be no Goblin.

Yeah, it would mean no iconic bridge sequence, but it would serve the same purpose.

But why do it offscreen when you can do it better ONSCREEN?

Even if I agree with your opinion, there are still many people left that will not agree with you because this particular sequence is so "SACRED" to them, it won't work.

I'm sceptical of these latest rumours. I don't see much reason to believe them and they sound like they're just guesses based on the kind of random speculation I've seen on here.

i think that would be incredibly stressful to read forums like this if you are directing a comic book movie, i mean when a picture is released and some hate it and some like it id imagine that wouldn't make you feel great and not a great confidence boost, and if some start to put you down as a director thats surely not fun to read

not only that but like i said you can't please everyone and i could imagine webb wants to please the fans but lets face it comicbook fans ain't easy to please

i just think it would be confusing and stressful for him

I liked what James Vanderbilt (screenwriter) said at the end of the TASM DVD Featurette:

"The one thing I feel like I've learned is when you're making a movie like this, you absolutely have to listen to the fans as much as humanly possible and then you have to go away and make the film you want to make..."

I think that's a pretty healthy approach and I'm sure Marc Webb feels the same way.

As goes the saying "HATERS GONNA HATE",there will always be some part of the population that will NO matter what will want everything how they want it and criticize everything else but then there are other people who are able to exchange ideas and still accept the compromise and there are others who just want to change everything about the movie .Thankfully, there are more of middle than former and latter in the population which is why if you can please the middle, it would work for him but he doesn't need to please the former or middle because then he will neglect all others. This doesn't include GA because we are talking about forums here but the director still needs to keep in mind and predict if both GA and the middle who are able to accept the compromise but still get what they want will be able to accept and how close are they able to get to these audiences.

GG must be the one that throws Gwen off the bridge. No exceptions. It's an iconic moment not only in Spidey's run but in the whole of comics themselves. It was credited to ending an era. Change is something I welcome to a certain degree but this...this is something I will not bend on. Not in the least.
I gotta agree. People will be mooning Webb for decades to come. I don't want that to happen to him. No one deserves that much azz.

maybe the writers may read the forums, but even actors say its bad idea to read the forums to find out what people think because the bad comments can knock your confidence

They listened to the comments and they are going through with the Gwen/Norman affair.

Aunt Carnage; possibly my favorite ridiculous rumor of all time.

OK, I will explain this further.

There are three types of fans on the CBM forums.

Extremely Rigid Comic Fans:These fans are so picky they will rage even if a tiny detail is missing from the movie. If they get something different from what they have, they will outright reject it.For this reason, they argue with Linenent fans and cannot accept if a movie has a little details missing. These fans want a straight comic adaptation of the movie even if it cannot happen but if the directors accept these fans wish,GA and Lineant fans will not be happy.

Moderatly Lineant:These fans truly want to see a good CBM that takes certain elements of a comic book and still some details can be added by director. These fans will not mind some changes to the story but a movie that alters the comic book sequence in a big way or totally changes story will make this fans rage because it makes the director look arrogant and kill the impact of that sequence or even kill the story.

Extremely Lineant: These fans will not only mind if the director changes the story according to how he thinks it should be but also will accept anything the directors make. They will in anyway justify why the director made it that way or why a writer made it that way(like they know everything!).

It's not hard to see which the writers should please.Yes,it might be stressful but they still need to look at this forums to get ideas.Otherwise, they would have no clue how to go about it or the movie just ends up a disaster.

I don't think they 'need' to look at internet forums to make a great movie. Sure it might help, but a successful movie just comes from a basic understanding of what makes the source material work.

.
Otherwise, they would have no clue how to go about it or the movie just ends up a disaster.

if the writers know the source material then its not hard to do it without getting ideas from forums

obviously there may be certain things fans want to see, maybe character traits or certain things from the comics thrown in for the fans, but thats probably about it, otherwise its like saying if all the forums said WE WANT GREEN GOBLIN TO APPEAR AT THE END OF THE FILM then the writers and webb would add it

It should be a no-brainer that you make Green Goblin throw her off a bridge or physically be the one who sets her death in motion. But I think they're going to try and rush Gwen's death and make anyone kill her, simply because Emma Stone doesn't want to do a third film. In that case, I say offer her more money to get her back for part three. If not, recast her with a really good look-a-like who can act.
