Anyways, since they are building up to the Green Goblin and have introduced Gwen in this franchise, I feel like Goblin WILL be the one to kill her. This stupid little rumor really got some people stirred up.

I don't know, I think we should treat this rumor as real, until someone in the production tells us otherwise. This is something we shouldn't let up on, why, because they have plenty of time to change it.

Except that there is nothing wrong with having the Green Goblin kill her. It won't turn off the GA in any way. In fact, it will probably make both the fans and the GA more happy to have GG killer her off than if it were done by another villain.

Remember that the GA is aware of the fact that GG is Spidey's archenemy and is his most iconic villain as well thus him killing Gwen would leave a bigger impact on them overall. Imagine if The Dark Knight featured Riddler or Mad Hatter and have one of them be the ones doing everything the Joker did. Sure that the movie would still be very well received and liked but the fact that it was the Joker - Batman's most iconic villain and biggest enemy - who did all of that horrendous stuff and interacted with Batman in those ways is what made the whole story more interesting to begin with.

I think it is different, because its this moment that really sets Gobby up as Spider-Man's arch enemy in the comics. It brings their emnity to a whole new level. I can't see Spidey having that level of emnity with a second-stringer villain like Electro.

People accepted the Joker thing more easily because he's Bats arch-villain, so creating hatred between them makes sense. It would be different if it had been revealed that Killer Croc or Mad Hatter or the Ventriloquist had actually killed Bruce's parents.

Not true, some one once ask Raimi will Venom have the spider logo on his chest and he said yes. I also remember Kirsten Dunst telling who the villains were. Also, the entire SM2 script was leaked. It happens. Trust me, this is a big change, it'll reach Webb, the actors, producers or the goons at Sony. Someone will ask this question, it needs to be squashed fast.

That's because:

1) Joker is Batman's archenemy and most iconic villain so the audience bought it.

2) That was a small part of the whole movie compared to GG killing Gwen.

3) My point is NOT that the GA won't accept another villain killing Gwen but that they would also find it more interesting if GG killed her instead of anyone else, much like the fans.

I will never understand actual fans wanting it to be different from the comic. I dont go to the theater to see something different, I go to see something I love be translated to live action and there is no reason to change it. Changing it will NOT make it more effective.

no one is saying they want a panel by panel play by play like Watchmen... or 300

people want the main MAJOR story archs to be the same, and the characters to feel the same. (which the MCU do do a great job at)

I think it's a incredibly small minority that would want Gwen dead by anyone but osborn

I think Goblin is formidable to hold his own as the single villain of a film. Give me some badass aerial combat between Spidey and Gobby among the skyscrapers of New York, with lots of pumpkin bombs and whatnot, and I'll be happy.

What about the rest of the villians though Electro,Rhino and Lizard?Are they going to just sit around in Ravencroft?
