The Amazing Spider-Man 2 The Amazing Spider-Man 2 General Discussion - Part 8

I overall thought it looked cool but was concerned about things like the dark stains in the crotch, but thought it was a sleek looking design overall. I have always liked the conservative sized eyes in the cinematic suit designs, in both the Raimi and Webb films.

My immediate reaction to the new suit is the eyes are way too big, the boots look like clunky space boots, and the overall texture feels like the 70's tv show suit. I can see myself warming to it, but I just like it far less than the design of the TASM suit. I wish they had stuck to that overall design and just added a belt, perhaps tweak the web design to not be as gridlike.

Yeeeeeah... that was a bit too far.

He said it 'feels' like it. And to be fair, the set pics do make it appear to be something bought from a costume shop. But yeah, the TASM2 costume in that tiny pic does appear to look good.

I meant more "supernatural" powers. Vulture's were because of a suit, like you said Kraven didn't have powers. And Black Cat isn't a straight up villian, she's well, she's basically like Catwoman lol she's Spidey's partner when she needs to be, and an advesary the rest of the time. Scorpin knew he was getting powers, but he didn't know it was going to be permanent. His origin is similar to Rhino's. Both were put into a super suit that fused to their skin, so that counts as "accidental" because it wasn't their intention for it to be permanent, hell, Scorpin's original intention wasn't even to be a villian.

Nearly all of spiderman's villains are of scientific nature. Not supernatural. Electro is really the only main stream one to just be a freak accident of nature

And yeah, Felicia was never really a villain but the point still stands since she eventually became both his lover and yet kryptonite.

Point in case though.... Electro is truly the only popular spiderman villain to just be a victim of nature and chance. I guess venom sort of counts as well since the symbiote is a living thing... But he didn't want it. But embraced it when he got it.

Even so, I don't see it. Yeah, but to be honest, the other suit didn't look too amazing from set photos either. I was trying to find a bigger pic as right before you said that.

The promo image looks more refined than the set pics. I'll dig around but I remember seeing some footage on youtube or some images of a 70's era suit that looked quite similar to the current suit, in color and material.

EDIT: maybe it was a bit of a stretch to compare, obviously the TASM2 suit looks much better, but I see similarities.

Everyone *****ing about the suit quality...we all saw what happened with the TASM suit. It looked way better in the film than it did on set, so why wouldn't it be the same here? Plus, they're filming the movie differently than they did the first one, so the change in texture might be to account for the way they're doing the 3D. Plus, those of you saying it looks like they "cut the suit" budget...that's ludicrous. I know you weren't being serious, but come on. The costume change clearly shows they wanted to adhere to the fans on this one. You think they'd put less money into it? Please.

This was the first set pic I saw of the TASM costume. And it looked horrible (still does). It took me a long time to look past this pic and look at the other TASM set pics with clearer eyes lol. But after a while, for the most part, the set pics for the TASM costume looked pretty good IMO.

The set pics for TASM2 just don't show the TASM2 costume well at all (and those bloody clunky boots lol).

But yeah, I do agree that the promo image shows what it can look like. I want to see a full body one soooooooon. Those set pics aren't doing it justice.

Also, while the eyes look big in the promo image, they look bigger on the set pics. Regardless, I don't like the new eyes currently. They're just too big.

Get over it. You're in a Spider-Man movie discussion thread. Making fun of talking about little details is pointless. We're discussing a 2 hour movie over the length of 2 years. The little details are all thats left. Lets not get into the whole 'defend the littlest thing' - thing. If you want a discussion, a discussion is what I'm giving you. You ARE in a forum after all, aren't you? Just stating what I think and why I feel the change isn't bad.

When the littlest thing is just saying I enjoy the first film's suit, I would suggest that you should get over it and just move on to someone else. Me liking the first film's suit shouldn't make your head explode where you have to find out why I'm not a so-called fan of change.

Well if its new and refreshing you want, why are you complaining?

If they stuck to the first movies costume then according to you argument, that would be the bad thing!

Its clear by now that this suit is different from Raimi's AND TASM. This is an all new suit. Then by your account, that should be good.

The same honeycomb pattern used by Raimi, the more noticeable raised webbing used by Raimi and using the classic design taking away from the actual refreshing look seen in TAS-M...the only thing really new and refreshing are the big ol' eyes. Don't kid yourself into calling this new and refreshing.

And you're not even understanding my "argument" if you think I meant I wouldn't like the same costume to be used in the sequel. You're now just twisting my words around, the logical thing for a poster to do on here, so I forgive you for that

Give me those bigger eyes on the first suit with a full on "belt" and different boots and you have something that I'd enjoy.

One theory that sounds pretty dope is that Osborn tries to magpie all these different properties of animals, and it ****s him right up.

Interesting, although it doesn't explain how GG's harnesses something with those electric eels and be green while Max ends up turning blue.

From these pics, it looks like the camera is focused on whatever's inside the building, and Spidey looks to be sort of hiding behind the wall. Maybe he's about to get the jump on whatever's in there. Then again, I could be completely wrong.

Lol...I want to see a shot of the film when watching the film and you just see Spidey crawling his way up.

Not impressed. Not even the TASM suit looked cheap in the set pics.

It looked fine on set.

When did I ever say you have to like it? I'm not ripping my hair out, trying to get you to like the suit. All I'm saying is I disagree with you, and I stated why

What did you say about twisting words? Oh thats right, I'll forgive you too.

True enough, I know what you meant. But you do see the flaw I pointed out in your point, right?

I'll give you this though, I do agree with the last sentence. I would have liked to see that suit, then something like this one in the 3rd movie.

Um..... He did say osborn would be compiling these circumstances....

Lizard dna = makes Norman green and scaley in the face. Also lets him shift in and out of goblin persona

Electro = skin durability and allows Norman to fire a some minor electricity from his fingers (replacing the goblin gloves lasers from the comics)

Rhino = strength and speed

As long as he's not launching lightening bombs instead of pumpkins and not the size of rhino "hulk goblin" ill be happy with that origin of the goblin formula
