Yep yep a lot of people just hated on like ever thing on this movie no matter how little or small of a problem something was people acted like it was a major problem. ASM2 has the 4th best soundtrack in any CBM of all time behind only the dark knight trilogy movies and ASM1 had one of the worst soundtracks of any CBM yet people didn't hate that one right.

It's sad that both Spider-man franchises ended with such fan vitriol and controversy.

Neither ASM or TDKT's OSTs hold a candle to Elfman's Batman and Williams' Superman scores. Puh-lease.

Watching this movie now for the first time in almost a year.
It's cotton candy. All fluff. Are the performances good? Overall, yeah. Are the special effects amazing? Absolutely. But somehow, with all of that behind it, the writing turns this into one of the most tone deaf movies I've ever seen. It's completely empty. All spectacle. Everything ultimately falls flat. It's amazing how something can be so superficially appealing, yet entirely hollow.
Harry's introduction and subsequent character arc gave me whiplash. Out of everything terrible with this movie, I'd argue that Harry Osborn is the epitome of everything that doesn't work.

Disagree about the performances flint. I found everybody except Stone to be underwhelming. With three embarrassing performances from the villains Electro, Goblin, and the Rhino dude. I put the blame squarely on Webb's shoulder for this one. His first job is to direct his actors and he did a poor job, straight up. This is why I laugh when fanboys excuse Webb.

I just ordered TASM2 Hot Toys Spider-man. I wish HT would have made a Stone-as-Gwen figure, but I guess I'll have to be content with Spider-Gwen in the Legends line.

I saw this on reddit:

"I just saw an interview where Webb said originally she didn't hit the ground but the audience didn't like it, and refused to believe that Spider-Man killed her instead of saving her, so they had to digitally add her hitting the ground. Interesting!"

Is it true?

God bless you all! God bless everyone!

While I agree with many of the criticisms towards the film, I still really enjoyed it.

Is this movie on the same level as Elektra, GL, FF(2015), Wolverine: Origins, Catwoman? No.

Is this movie on the same level as TDK, Avengers, TWS, Spider-Man 2, DOFP, X-2, GOTG ? Definitely not.

Agreed.

In terms of film, nope.
In terms of personal enjoyment, I enjoyed it far more than TDK, GOTG and X-2. I enjoyed it a teeny-tiny bit more than Spider-Man 2 and Avengers. Haven't seen TWS and DOFP, so I can't say there.

I'd put it on the same level as the likes of Wolverine Origins and GL. Only Wolverine had a decent villain in Sabretooth. TASM 2 has no good villains.

It was a long way from perfect, but it still had some outstanding characters and memorable moments. Much like the Raimi series, I wish we could have seen an actual conclusion to the story, but at least we got a total of 5 Spidey films. That's quite an achievement.

Also, I got the Hot Toys TASM2 Figure and all of the rave reviews about it are well-founded. Even people who didn't like the film say it's one of the best Spider-man figures ever. I'll post a few pics when I get a chance.

I'd agree with you. Origins is definitely much more fun than ASM2.

Dude,that's trolling.
It's not. But I just gave up a time ago with those haters. It's impossible to discuss with them (not everyone), so a simple yellow face, most of the time, is everything I need to say.

I never hear of that. Probably not true.

At the point the distinction becomes hazy and thus quite irrelevant. Akin to being trapped in a room full of horse dung, and cow dung, human dung, sheep dung, etc. You can smell them all to your very core. But you can't and are not inclined to distinguish which is which.

I wonder if Andrew Garfield is going to go down as the Val Kilmer of the Spider-Man franchise?

Toby is the Keaton the original sentimental favorite, I don't know if we'll ever have a Bale type but I feel like Andrew is going to fall into that slot of guy who didn't do a terrible job but people just don't think about that much in that role?

Am I wrong?

see now me I preferred Andrew so for me he's the Keaton, Tobey is the Clooney

Tobey may in retrospect become the more recognizable and poplar name associated with the role, but he was poorly used

I preferred Andrew too, so until someone outshines him, he's my definitive Spidey, regardless of the quality of his last movie.
