Rhino is probably going to be a CGI character. What are the chances we don't really see them filming him cause it'll be added in later? They could be doing motion capture work or something similar in studio with Paul.

Honestly, I really think people should manage their expectations on Rhino even being in the movie. I have a feeling he won't even be a character in the film. It would be pretty damn awesome if it was true though. But the way the story is looking so far, Rhino seems a little but of an odd addition if he is there.

That's because it clearly was. He's been posting butt hurt comments about it all week since the spoilers dropped. As much as he says he's not....

That's all Anno does is get up in arms about things... He's the Debbie downer no one wants at a party. He's been that way since he joined

The damn movie isn't even out yet where I live, and in most places. Whats so bad in complaining about a movie when you've seen it? Its not like he's complaining about it in 2014. In fact if there was any time to complain about IM3, it would be now -__-

My guess is that if Rhino is in this movie he's nothing more than a side character with little to no development. He's a product of the research at Oscorp, is stolen or escapes and goes on a rampage thru Manhattan. Spidey deals with him maybe once or twice and he's subdued, taken back into custody and saved for another time.

I've seen comments about having Rhino be part of an opening action sequence and that sounds pretty thrilling. He doesn't have to be a major part of the story for there to be some fun had.

just a gut feeling man :P

seems like a perfect opportunity to have a rhino rampage scene instead of the armored car robbery.

then again, what if rhino IS IN the armored car?

:O :O :O

lol
I don't think we'd see him out there even if he were because he'll be in CGI. Same reason we don't see Andrew out there, because Spidey will be CGI in that scene. That said, that truck is way too small to house Rhino lol. Maybe pre-Rhino.

Yeah, that's why we don't see Andrew on location at places like Times Square and the chase scene, Spidey will be CGI in those scenes. I'd bet they're bringing in Giamatti later into the production to do his mo-cap work and whatever bit of scenes Alex has before becoming Rhino. He obviously won't be a huge factor, but he'll probably be a presence in it, and honestly that's probably the best Rhino to handle Rhino. He shouldn't be a big part of the film.

Agreed with the top part. Not with the second. Judging from what we've seen so far it doesn't look like the opening will involve Rhino. The opening seems like it will be the scene of Peter catching that crook wearing a Spider-Man mask.

Paul Giamatti isn't the Rhino he's J Jonah Jameson, he has the perfect scummy NYC kinda guy look & can yell really loud and be funny. I smell a swerve. I think the Rhino thing came from that interview he did saying he always wanted to play that character.

Only thing that has been wavering on that thought is that when they showed Norman's apartment I definitely saw a Rhino on that green marbly wall. But maybe im ******ed..

No, Hollywood Reporter specifically said he was in talks to play Rhino. It didn't come from that interview, it was just pointed out in the article that that interview had taken place.

Hmmm... maybe... lol
But I don't think I could see a Giamatti Jameson... that wouldn't work in my mind. And I'm pretty sure he signed up to play the Rhino.

They still have over two and a half months worth of scenes to shoot. :/

Indeed. Right now, it's a wide assumption to say Rhino won't have a big role.

A CGI Rhino with just Giamatti's face plastered on him? Or, if they definitely go the cross-species route...a flashback of Giamatti before he became Rhino? Perhaps something goes wrong and Rhino can't revert back, the luxury Dr. Connors had.

Guys about that Max sounding ******ed comment, I didn't mean anything against Jamie Foxx, he's one of my favorite talents. I take it back.

Max will probably end up being that intelligent guy that Peter looks up to before the accident, much like the Otto/Peter relationship in S-M 2, but this time it'll be Peter looking up to the man while under the mask and that could parallel Max looking up to Spider-Man.

"I would be entertained to see how Peter Parker reacted to Tony Stark..." - Kevin Feige

lots of tid bits from him just now (read on twitter) and this was spidey relevant so thought i'd share it.

this is in no way confirmation or anything of that nature, but i figure people will jump on this regardless lol.

Oh, and the fact there were three villains in SM3 wasn't the problem. The problem was that they attempted to make each villain to be the "main" villain. Sandman should of been a minor villain (like Scarecrow), Harry should of been the main villain, and Venom should have escaped at the end.

I agree.

Having 3 villains didn't ruin that movie. It's the way it was handled. Sandman's part was too big, he should never have been Uncle Bens' killer, and he should have disappeared permanently after his fight with black suited Spider-man, thus never teaming up with Venom. Also no dancing.

This alone would have doubled the quality of the movie.

Aside from that, the crane scene should have been replaced with John Jamesons Shuttle crashing to Earth and bringing the symbiote. And, instead of the 'Spider-man day parade' nonsense, they should have made the public hate Spider-man, then Sandman whoops his ass infront of everyone, and these events lead Spider-man to becoming bitter and angry before having the symbiote bond with him.

I think the theme of the film will be along the lines of anti-bullying. Everybody ignores Max, Spider-Man is "fake" and pretends he cares for him. Soon he starts to ignore him as well. Max turns it on. Lesson learned.

FINALLY some kind of solid rhino information:

extremely likely that this is paul giamatti's stunt double wearing some form of prosthetic.

looks like his character is a russian mobster type after all.

will he actually transform into rhino proper in this movie? or will that occur in a later film, if at all?

so yeah, i wonder if it is the R.H.I.NO. suit in the oscorp truck?

Totally dig those videos of the vehicle chase. An Oscorp truck being chased by 10 or more police cars and hopefully a Spidey in the air.

so.. no one cares about the giamatti stunt man story/pic ?

The similarities are uncanny.

yep! (lol i think most people are asleep hence the lack of discussion)

very excited to see this chase scene play out, especially if spider-man is in pursuit.

Yeah, how awesome would it be to see Spidey just swinging above all the cop cars doing some acrobatics? :woot:
