You are probably right about that.
I've already said that I don't think Sinister Six is going to happen but I'll acknowledge that I was wrong when I see set pictures. I was wrong about Deadpool not happening.
Spider-Man and Deadpool have very different, unique situations. Deadpool falls under the X-Men umbrella, so Fox is able to hold onto his film rights even without making any Deadpool movies or ever using his character in an X-Men film. Fox could have let another 10 years go by without ever mentioning the status of the Deadpool movie and that would be that.
Sony has Spider-Man, and they NEED to give him movies no more than 5 years apart or else they risk losing the film rights completely. So if they wanted to "keep quiet" about Sinister Six or TASM3 until 2019, I guess they could just release it then (but there would be no logic in that).
