SM4 would have done better domestically imho. Maybe ASM2 will be smart and have carnage or ASM3 will have teh Carnage.

Spider-man can't beat Carnage. Carnage is venom on roids, HGH, and coke. Boomshacka-la-laka.
How the heck would it be smart of them to put Carnage in any of these movies? First we need Venom and his entire story arc, then Cletus Cassady would have to be introduced, then the Carnage symbiote would have to be born, and then it will have to bond with Cletus. There isn't enough time for the second movie and they have much better stories to tell in the sequels, like "The Night Gwen Stacy Died." Also, this is just my opinion, but I kinda don't want to see that many symbiotes, let alone having to see Venom again.

250M tops, which is pretty good for a comic book reboot.

Originally i thought $250 million domestic as well but now have revised my estimate slightly higher to around $260-$265, possibly $270. Even though TDKR will take a lot of the wind out of TAS's sails, I see it this way:

* TAS will have over $218 million by end of Thursday, before TDKR releases wide domestically
* looking at the following chart, even if TAS suffers a 60% decline the week TDKR releases, it will still clear $250 million easily:
http://boxofficemojo.com/showdowns/chart/?view=daily&id=spidermanvs.htm

$218 million by end of this Thursday, roughly $52.5 for this week
+$21 million next week (which includes this coming weekend, factoring a 60% drop)
+9.5 million the following week with 55% drop
+4.3 million the week after that with 55% drop
+2.1 million the week after that with 50% drop
+1 million the week after, and so on...

Would amount to about $258 million, and I think the hold will be slightly better than the week over week drops in my example. So I'll say it ends somewhere around $265 million.

Not on it's budget as well comic reboots generally perform better than the film in the franchise they followed.

See the #AmazingSpiderMan again! http://bit.ly/MMBjNG How many times have you seen @SpiderManMovie?

They know they're ****ed come tomorrow.

I would see TASM again tomorrow. If my local movie theater didn't have The Dark Knight in every single theater.

My theater is going from 12 showings of ASM (3D and 2D combined) to 5 tomorrow. TDKR is going to cut it by about 60% or more this weekend.

Yep, but they've done fine already.

:lmao:

I'd watch TAS-M again if I really wanted to, but twice was plenty enough.

Poor Marvel/Sony trying to get people to sway away from TDKR, lol. This is as funny as Avi Arad saying Batman has fade away.

its budget is 230 so not that good.but i think it will do 270mill when its done.

Heard that but doesnt feel like that when they are ready to flush 220M into movies like MIB3 and Total Recall

They are taking risks, which is what they should do. My problem is that they weren't taking enough risks with TASM and cut a lot of Marc's vision for the movie to please general audience, which of course worked the other way around for some people

I don't believe that the genetic tampering theory is true, if that's what your referring to.

But other things, like removing the first date between Gwen and Pete are things I can agree with (it'll probably be a deleted scene though).

You are right
But their panic was justified to an extent, the amount of backlash towards the genetic version was so much in the forums even when none of us knew how it would pan out

*sigh* I seriously don't understand why people think the genetic tampering version was 100% something they even started filming.
