This is a continuation thread, the old thread is [split]385941[/split]
They can't. Not in public forums anyway. I know people who have attended the preview. And that's not because the movie is bad, far from it. Sony has sold the rights for the first reviews in the USA it seems. But one international review popped up today, that one from Netherlands... it's legit. I asked my friend about it, and while she disagrees about the reviewer's complains about the Lizard, that was the same movie that she saw. She can't give me spoilers and even if she could I wouldn't want to read them. I just asked her if the spoilers in the review are in the film, and they are.
The first review comes from a well estabilished movie website from Netherlands. They do have pretty high standards when it comes to reviewing films, so that made me even more excited for TASM. I think that soon the US reviews will start to pop up too, and we'll have a better idea how the movie critics will receive this, but what I've heard from my friend is that at least at her screening, everyone was pretty excited and raving the film afterwards. She was a plus one, but she also can't talk, and that's why people don't pop up here to talk about it. I don't know how RIM will pull this off, but maybe he doesn't live in the US, I don't know. But what I know is that they made all of them sign the embargo documents.
Regardless of that, I think it's fair to assume that things are shaping up amazing for Spider-Man, the review that it was posted today was very good and RIM will be able to see the film soon enough to at least double check the info that I'm giving here.
Agreed, it was very well spoken. Thanks man. Helped me make point. Thanks for the info
You can't give a review, but I think you can still rate it or whatever.Nope. It's a Mr E.
RIM should come through on Friday, that beautiful bastard. And I'm watching it on Monday and will not sign anything without my lawyer present. No M bar go for moi.
2 weeks from now (at least internationally, dunno about US).Anyone know the date when the embargo is lifted?
You can't give a review, but I think you can still rate it or whatever.
If it's IP thats the problem, just log into a library pc. I'm pretty sure there are ways to get around the embargo without getting caught, not that I'd want anyone to do so. lol
sooo....that clip with gwen was great. love the acting of both of them.
Eggy I think can say whatever he wants since it isn't a test screening. RIM might be limited, however. Think that is how it works.
Looking like the date I am seeing the movie is July 5th. My brother is going to be visiting me on one of his days off, so we planned on using the movie money I just got from the rereleased SM1-3 blu rays to see it then. So, I will be a tad late to the party.
If I didn't have this premier ticket, I'd be seeing it on the 6th. Well, I am seeing it on the 6th at IMAX with friends, but, you know...
are there any reviews or reactions from the japanese premiere?
Excuse me, but I'll respectfully disagree. Reviews and buzz around Spider-Man are already happening, and I have a feeling that message boards are radically understimating The Amazing Spider-Man while overstimating TDKR at the same time. The trailers for TDKR left me pretty cold, and this comes from a big Batman and Nolan fan. I'm still hopeful, but regardless of the pattern that I see on the bords - people dismissing TASM as something that looks risky and that will be poorly received - at this point I'm way more excited over TASM than I ever did for TDKR.
And thinking that people will hate on TASM because it's something new is clearly biased. You're a Batman fan, and it's okay, you think the film you're anticipating the most will be better received. While I don't have any scientifical data to oppose your gut feeling, I can give you mine and say that while people are without any questions interested in TDKR, they are also interested in TASM, but while people are expecting from TASM something like being the best Spider-Man film yet - which is quite possibly achievable, people are expecting the second coming for TDKR. And that's bound to generate disappointmen IMHO.
While I have proof from people that I personally know and trust, a review that is pretty much spot on what she said about TASM minus the spoilers that were also confirmed, I still haven't seen nothing from TDKR trailers, which as I've said left me pretty cold. I'll be there opening midnight for both, but I think that the rumors about The Amazing Spider-Man demise are vastly exaggerate. If anything, the "new" factor can play in TASM's favor, since people can get surprised at how much Spider-Man rocks, while I feel that the expectations over TDKR are overwhelming and very similar to Prometheus, and to some extent, Spider-Man 3 before that. Yes, SM3 is an atrocity, but even if it wasn't it couldn't possibly live up the hype that it was build up. Thinking that the critics and even a part of the TDK fanbase wouldn't be disappointed if TDKR isn't loved enough, makes box office numbers enough or any kind of silly standards that people made around that film is to set yourself up to disappointment.
With that said, I'll be happy with a TDKR film that follows the quality levels that The Avengers has and The Amazing Spider-Man seems to be following suit, I don't really care about the petty fights about which movie is best, because I'll very likely enjoy all of them.

I won't need to do that. I'll just borrow some of my neighbour's broadband for a while. Cups of sugar are outdated.
haha I like you man.
I think TASM will do better than alot of people think, while at the same time I think TDKR, while hyped, will do less than expected, but it will earn alot more regardless as it's a safe bet when it comes to the GA, (like SM3 did, though it was a bad movie, it still earned the most out of all three), like BANNERSMASH said I think alot of people have set the bar so high that they're gonna go in expecting another TDK, which whichever way you look at it, it won't be. TDKR is in a safer boat, as even if the movie isn't as good as the other two, the GA still are happy with the franchise.(people were still crying for an SM4 after SM3) TASM however, if that movie comes out as just ok, then it'll be on rocky ground for future installments of this 'rebboted' franchise and keeping interest if alot of GA didn't like it. TASM has alot more to live up to, Nolan has already proven himself the same way Raimi did back in 2002, now it's Webb's turn.
