I would like to emphasize on that Peter playing B-ball clip (for one). Some people say it's cheasy (just_don't_get_it). I think it's fun, charming, lighthearted and playful, while being cool, and anything but cheasy.
Anyways. What I think will happen, as I'm explaining below, will all no doubt be from the first thirds of the movie.
First thing to happen of the following in this film will be stuff like this, seen in the clip below. During this clip here, we see Peter getting knocked out by Flash in the school yard:

Stuff like this, there will be more of. Seeing Peter being an outcast. Getting bullied in school. Being moody in class (like seen in older clips, where Gwen tells him that it was brave what he did in the hallway - "Stupid, but brave"). Basically just Peter getting picked on, and feeling weird for being an orphan and such. This will all be a striking part of the first 20 minutes of the movie, or so. We will feel bad for him. It's all been pretty moody for our Peter up until that point...
Now, the B-ball clip occurs:

I'll bet you ten-to-one, that this will be the first sort of uplifting moment for our hero, in this film! Cause the following morning when he wakes up after being bit by a spider, certainly isn't an uplifting moment. He's freaked out, pulling out web from his neck, Cronenberg/The Fly style! It's not a cool moment like in Raimi's first film. But what happens in school, with the B-ball incident, will be the first FUN moment in the film. And I really think that Webb makes it so we're gonna need it by that time! If they're doing it just right, We, the audience are gonna need to see Peter having the upper hand for ones. It hasn't exactly been fun to see him being picked on the way he has, up until that point. That's why I think that scene will work like crazy, ones seeing it in it's full context of the movie. It's gonna be so joyful to watch Peter "play" with Flash, making him look like the total dweep for ones, embarrassing him in front of the whole B-ball team and cheerleading squad! the scene has dorky playful music going on here, for_a_reason. And if it all plays out the way I really, truly believe that it will, it's gonna work wonders in the movie! It's Peters time to make fun. It's SUPPOSE to be a lighthearted, kid-friendly scene of joy for our hero, that will make Us smile!
Later on in the movie (as it'll no doubt get way more serious and intense), Flash confronts Peter at the school lockers, wanting to truly beat him up, after he brushed his ego, embarrassing him in front of everybody. But what has happened in between, is that our hero has probably just lost his Uncle!! He suffers from much pain, and inner turmoil. He's just NOT in any kind of mood for any one ****ing with him at this point!! He turns around, grabs Flash by the neck, throwing up against the school lockers - hard! He tells Flash, ones and for all to leave him the **** alone! And I think it'll work too. After that, the taunting days by Flash are over, and we will move on to the bigger aspect of the film...
Don't deny that this isn't an exstremely good route to go?
