Incase no one noticed or remembers, Spider-Man is LIGHTNING fast.

"Web Rush is basically a newly developed concept in which you can maneuver Spider-Man through the city in creative, lightning fast ways"

Damn, I'm really wondering how people can hate on this film!?

I think the actors and stuff hit the nail on the head in their interviews. This is not the traditional Spider-Man. This is a more modern telling. I think a lot of hardcore Spider-Man fans are going to hate that. However, I'm excited for it. I'm wondering if this is why RIM dislikes the film so much.

From every clip I've seen, I love the film. I think the directing and acting is top notch!

Man. I cannot keep up with you guys anymore. It's turned into the Avengers thread when it was a few weeks before its release. Impossible to keep up!

Well we'll find out on the 29th why, when he can tell us. If people haven't scared the poor guy off.

But yeah, for me, I'm happy with what I'm seeing so far. The idea of changes (even some drastic) doesn't bother me like it may have done. This is due to the fact we've had a (near) faithful telling of the spidey origin under Raimi.

I have been expecting the film to do something different because of this. I just want the thing to be executed well.

But, all we can do, us who have not seen it, is wait and see if our expectations are met, exceeded, or destroyed.

I mean, I'm excited. Probably just as excited as any of you if not more. I'm seeing USM written all over this movie and absolutely love it.

I just feel like anything I say is going to be buried under pages and pages of talk and I won't be able to revisit it until the end of my day. And I haven't even been that busy this week!

:wow: Well your alot more braver than me, I only ever wish to have the confidence to do that

off topic a little bit but does anyone know where to get cheap TPB'S from except Amazon in the UK?

Yeah, carjacker scene he's an a-hole, but Spidey has always been an a-hole to heroes and villains alike. But as fans, we all know it's just a put on to mask how nervous he is under all of it.

I gotta go on vacation next week and I'm gonna miss everything during that time.

I would write a longer reply but im tired so all im gonna say is i agree completely with all of this. People wanted a different movie, wev got it, and people still complain. Also, though this is a comic adaptation, it is in every way the director/writers story as well.

:funny: I haven't seen the carjacker scene and don't plan to but does he say

"Not a knife, anything but kniiiiife"
or
"You've found my weakness, it's small knives" ?

I'll take a Spider-man who humiliates his opponent too much over a Spider-man who doesn't humiliate them hardly at all (SM1-SM3).

It would've came off much better if the carjacker got angry instead of afraid. That was an odd creative choice.

Hopefully there will be a better balance for the sequels but it's great to have Spider-man humiliating opponents.

The first one. What I do like is that it seems like Garfield is ad-libbing some of it, but if it's in the script, that's even funnier.

I think showing the carjacker is a afraid was the right choice. Honestly, if it were me, I'd probably be scared ****less. You're obviously not dealing with something human and that right there is intimidating enough. The way he moved. The way he webs the guy to the wall. He is helpless. He is being bullied and toyed with.

That would scare me because I'm in such a vulnerable position. I don't think anger would have any effect on the outcome of the situation. Instead, I think showing you're afraid and pleading would be more realistic in the sense you're trying to win over your tormentor.

That's how I view the scene at least.

When he told the copper 'No understands the comcept of a mask' that I liked for just flat out sarcasm. Very well delivered.

It's the first one. I do think the 2nd one is the better delivery.

Garfield said the majority of the scene was improvised.

Man, that carjacker scene was awesome. I don't care if everyone in the world hates this movie if it has more scenes like that, I'll love it.

Ok, thanks guys. I too think that the 2nd one was delivered better but regardless, I don't mind the 1st. :)

I have a quesiton?

Orci and Kurtzman where brought on to write the spidey sequel yes? Is that due to Vanderbelt having other commitments or due to Sony pushing for a more action focused film?

IMO the footage we've seen for TASM has already pooped on SM3

I thought Vanderbelt wrote the script and Orci and Kurtzman were rewriting it.
