How the Hell can he have a BA in journalism?
How the Hell can he have a BA in journalism?
What if he goes to search his dad's work? Then it's not a coincidence at all
No more coincidence than a 16 year-old science whiz who just so happens to go to a demonstration where an atomic fission machine just so happens to irradiate a spider who just so happens to bite that 16 year-old. Spider-Man's entire origin is based on random coincidence. That is why he's presumably going to OsCorp, yes. After all, he does find his dad's old briefcase with stuff about Dr. Connors, his papers, and an Oscorp ID badge in it. But it would still be a pretty big coincidence that Peter just so happens to get bitten by the same radioactive spider that his dad was developing when he was kid. That and the fact that Peter just so happens to find his dad's briefcase and learns he just so happens to have worked at Oscorp which just so happens to be located in New York City and he just so happens to have an ID badge to get in and he just so happens to find his dad's former colleague working there along with the girl who goes to his high school that he also has a crush on.

I'm under the impression this guys trying to say what he can to make the movie look bad. He has no evidence it was ever in the script or movie.I was just wondering that, if that stuff about Peter's dad was originally in the film but then was edited out, what was edited out? I would think the chalkboard scene would have been the first to go if that was the case, but we'll have to get confirmation on that.
I mean, I think having Gwen work there might be a little much, but the rest I'm fine with. I don't find anything else unbelievable because it's all linked to the briefcase: the OsCorp badge leads him to OsCorp, the picture of his father and Connors leads him to Connors, and maybe he finds some of his dad's formulas and so forth which leads him to the spider room? It's less accidental than the comic origin, but I have no real problem with it.And the fact the criminal he allowed to get away also ended up killing his Uncle, as well. Coincidence and random chance is fine, and it does work very well in Spider-Man's original origin. But it also can be overdone. I just think that, based what we know about the film thus far, it seems like it went a bit overboard on the coincidences. Not entirely a deal breaker, mind you, but definitely stretching the bounds of believability.

The thing is, it was never confirmed that anything about how he became spider-man was changed..it was theorized by people and somehow, like everything else on the internet, it became fact. So now all of a sudden, it was changed and edited out? Those chalkboard scenes, none of us know for sure what they mean or why they're there, it's all theories and guesses
http://badassdigest.com/2012/05/03/trailer-confirms-the-amazing-spider-man-changes-spideys-origin/Three sources have told me this, but I held it. I didn't see the point in running it now, when the movie has been shot and edited and is ready to go. Nothing can be changed. But then the new trailer hits today and all but spells this out, so what the hell, here we go:
Spider-Man's origin has been changed in The Amazing Spider-Man. The spider bite no longer gives Peter powers, it rather activates something already in his genetic structure. Something placed there by his father. Peter Parker is no longer super-powered by chance, but rather by design.
That is, thematically, a large change (if it's true. These sources are trusted, and the trailer pretty much spells it all out anyway).
He's in the theater as we speak(/type).Isn't Eggyman supposed to be seeing this today?
Yup, if they started the film on time, then he's got 30-45 minutes left.Nice!
Hmm just something I thought of now.
Am I the only one who thinks Oscorp in this film doesn't seem like a company that would work on a glider (the one Green Goblin uses)? In Raimi's Spider-Man, it was more of a weapon invention company. In this film it feels different.
I just really hope we don't get the Ultimate Green Goblin in the next film! I want the classic one with bombs and glider and stuff like that. But this kind of Oscorp looks more like something that would create the Hulk-wannabe.
Well I think they would be interested if someone was closing to making a gravity-defying glider, so I don't think that it wouldn't fit in.Hmm just something I thought of now.

I took to mean that he was saying those who responded positively to the film were not actual movie critics. Or if they were, they weren't very notable.
It could be into developing all sorts. Research in genetics could be one branch. We will more than likely learn about it's dealings as the series goes on (if it goes on).
