I'm gonna need some Mysterio, and I want my Shocker cameo.
The thing is, if they are going to use Green Goblin for the second movie, they need an even bigger villain for the third. I really wonder who they will choose. I don't know if Mysterio would work as the final villain in the trilogy. Perhaps if they go the Venom route, they can do the character right, and make it EPIC.

Since the Death of Gwen Stacey would require the Green Goblin, they should use these two moments:

Maybe setting up a sequel when they graduate from highschool

They already had the shot of Goblin dragging Peter via a rope/wire/string in SM1.

Yeah, I'd still be cool.

Do you guys think we'll get anything at SDCC 12? I mean, they'll definitely know whether they're moving forward with the sequel so I'm hoping for something.

Since the Raimi films didn't really use a lot of moments from the comic books, this new trilogy doesn't have to worry about something "already being done." Even if they reuse Doc Ock, Venom, or Green Goblin, there are a ton of chilling moments in the comic books that could influence scenes in upcoming movies.

The only villain I don't want to be reused is Doc Ock. I think his character was done really well, and doesn't have room for improvement like the Goblin or Venom did. In fact, I don't even count Venom. He had 10 minutes of screen time (maybe even less than that) and did not feel like the comic book version. No "WE are Venom."

i just noticed i practically reproduced Avi´s T-shirt jaja

Again, I'm hoping for my Shocker and Mysterio cameo/small roles and Goblin for TASM2 and Venom for TASM3. I kinda don't want Peter to have the Black Suit at all. If he must, then save Venom for TASM4.

If they are going to do the Venom storyline, then Spider-Man must get the black suit. Its just part of the mythology. He could get it at the very end of TASM2, and rip it off during the beginning of TASM3, thus creating Venom as the main villain of the film.

I'm sure at some point Gwen Stacey will die. Just a matter of if they will kill her off in TASM2 or TASM3. If they do it in the third movie, we probably won't see MJ. If she bites the dust in the second film, we will definitely see MJ... I can't picture a SM film without a love interest.

They could introduce MJ in ASM2 and still keep Gwen alive. Like someone else posted, Gwen and MJ were also best friends as well as romantatic rivals for Pete. I think they should hold off and kill Gwen in ASM 3. Her death hit MJ just as hard as it hit Pete. That could lead into a natural relationship between MJ and Pete.

RIM's review is probably coming Wednesday. A few members here said that the 27th is when the embargo is being lifted.

If that is the case, I would really hope to see TASM4, whether or not there is a recast. I also feel that since Garfield is unknown, he would have no reason to leave Spider-Man (unless he gets really tired of course. But he is a young actor...)

If they went as far as ASM4, he'd be 35 and that's if they took no more than two years for each movie. That's pushing it, IMO. Leave it at three films.

I respectfully disagree. The Doctor Octopus that we received in SM2, while memorable and entertaining, is not the Doctor Octopus from the comics. In fact, aside from having Sandman implicated in Uncle Ben's death, Doc Ock is the least accurate of the Raimi interpretations - at least as far as personality goes. I'd give anything to see a truly evil, megalomaniac Doctor Octopus - not some sympathetic mentor figure who's being corrupted by evil tentacles.

But I agree that they can't retread Doc Ock, especially if they're planning on bring Green Goblin back into the mix. People are already crying foul that they redid the origin. If they reuse two of Raimi's villains, we'll never hear the end of it.

That, plus he won't be unknown for much longer. Dude's going to be offered plenty of roles once this movie comes out

Has anyone seen the new (at least for me) tv spot that began with Gwen asking Peter (paraphrase) "So what's next, Spider-Man?" while sitting on the bleachers? It didn't have any really new scenes, except I think they included more of Spidey finishing his swinging kick on Lizzy atop Oscorp tower.

As I said before, they should skip several years in between movies. I know you college age folks want to see a 19 year old Peter, but those of us over the age of 25 have little interest in this. Give him a job and put him in a crappy studio in bushwick. Much more interesting. Garfield will NOT look 19 by the time they start shooting the next movie. And he wont look 21 5 years from now. He was in his twenties by the time Gwen died and he was in his mid to late twenties by the time he hooked up with MJ so this isnt controversial.

Hey hey hey..I'm 26 and I wouldn't mind seeing him as a 19 year old in college. I mean they can't just do it by his age they gotta do it by Emma's also and she's just 22 or 23 and who knows how she'll age or how she'll look a couple years from now. They're going to start filming the next one next year no doubt, Andrew doesn't look any older now than he did 2 years ago, at least to me.

Doc Ock wasn't really evil before his accident. After the accident, then he was evil. So technically Raimi got that right. The only thing he got wrong was Ock redeeming himself. Had Ock gone down with his machine that Spidey sabotaged then it would have been a tad better. But, it fit with the redemption theme. That's fine with me. I am also ok with no Billy or Martha as long as it serves the story well. I would have preferred to see them but it's fine if they don't serve the story.

 I cannot believe I'm about to say this...but...I completely, 100%, agree with this post.
