I remember when this used to be a good forum. I long for those days again. Seriously, this discussion...might be one of the lowest points of the entire forum, and that says something.

I don't come in here telling everyone this movie will suck or Webb is a moron. But, most of the people here persist to bash the first 3 movies, and Raimi and Co. personally in your excitement. Why? To be on the winning team. The level of maturity in here is as low as I have seen it on this site. And given it is a SPIDER-MAN forum! A character I actually love/care about...make me sad.

You've just described my feelings exactly.

The trouble makers were few and far between in comparison to the plethora of smart posters who would be able to discuss these movies in ways that made me want to sign up for this forum.

If I were an onlooker/spectator now I wouldn't want to sign up in the slightest.

It really does, considering such gems as TEH TWILIGHT HAIR and LIZARD HAS NO GENITALS discussions that have been had here.

I'm gonna be honest here and say that some of the posters on here, much like some of the crazy Nolan fans (who have made me like Batman progressively less over they years, though unfairly), are preparing me to not like the reboot with the constant digs at movies I actually liked, and the constant insults they throw when anyone says they appreciated certain elements of those films over what we have seen in the trailers. I don't want to feel that way because I legtimately want TASM to be awesome and to enjoy the movie like anyone else. Yes, the clips and such make me weary in some capacities, but I like keeping an open mind. This is a big reason why I tend to avoid this area, but now and again when I feel like attempting to get myself hyped for it, this area kills my happy. I just can't post in here and get excited, and that is a shame. I signed up on here before SM2 to talk about a character who I followed for years and admire (as much as you can a finctional character), so this irritates me all the more.

Agreed.

I'm super super pumped for this movie and hope it's amazing, but I still loved the originals. 1 & 2 will always have a special place for me. I think people are forgetting Raimi's trilogy is the reason we're all in this forum in the first place, whether you liked it or not

This movie, or Raimi's s-m4, I would've been equally excited for, since it's another SPIDER-MAN movie. I love the character and would be excited for any new installment

I guess it never bothers me until I really notice it. I rarely check back every page that I miss in a thread, so when I do show up on here, I see a lot more civilized talk rather than bashing.

Plus, referring to this thread only, I am saying only a few people are really bringing Raimi into this.
