Hey guys, as a hard and fast fan of Nolan's Bat trilogy, I can say I am excited to see how Webb's trilogy pans out. I like that he wants to take a "gritty" approach and blend it with more stylized visuals.

Guess what, the film's rated PG-13

ANDREW, Y U SO ADORABLE?!?!??!

:hrt: :hrt: :hrt:

Though I'm still befuddled as to why they chose THAT clip, of all things. ASM is not (500) Days of Summer, it's supposed to be mostly an action movie. I'm not sure if that really endeared the mainstream public to the premise of rebooting Spider-Man.

But we didn't see any action in a continuous non-trailer-edited mode. It's hard to say what the action beats are going to be really like without seeing it in context.

99% of action movie trailers are more exciting than the real thing. :oldrazz:

It's Marc Webb. We already know he can do cute relationship-type stuff, and the GA wouldn't care anyway. They wouldn't see ASM to see another (500) Days of Summer. They want to see Spider-Man do awesome physical things.

From what we've seen so far, I'd say they got Spidey's movements down, but what remains to be seen are the beats of the action scenes. The fact that Marc Webb has never directed an action movie (or any other movie besides the cutesy relationship one) doesn't exactly say Sony marketing knows how to allay the concerns of signing up Marc Webb. The stuff we've seen, we already know he can do, and do really well.

Honestly, I think it's more to do with letting the audience know that that girl they are seeing in all the previews isn't just a 'blonde Mary Jane', but a completely different character. Alot of the GA don't know about Gwen Stacy, so letting the audience 'get to know' her before the movie is really a fantastic move. I like the fact that apart from the trailers, they've kept away from showing too much action, because as all big spectacle movies go (re:Avengers) action should be seen on the BIG screen. In 3D. Sure they could release like a 30 second clip of Spidey and Lizard going at it, but then again wouldn't you much rather see that for the first time in the theatre with surround sound in 3D on a ridiculously large screen then a TV or laptop screen? i know which one I would prefer.

Anyone love the little skip Peter does?

I love everything about that scene between Peter and Gwen in the hallway. The humor, sexual tension, the coy looks they give, everything, including the skip at the end. Just a great scene that gives me big hopes for what we're in store with in the movie.

In the 6 minute preview, there's a shot where Oscorp Tower is located where Stark Tower was in The Avengers, the place above Grand Central Station where the MetLife building should be.

Now the possibility of this series ever joining the MCU is difficult because of this.

But, Oscorp tower seems to change it's location throughout the film from what I can see from the trailers, so it doesn't seem the filmmakers were very consistent with it's location.

This is coming from a New Yorker (:

Are you sure? Because isn't Spidey standing on the MetLife building here?

That was never going to happen.

Is it confirmed that this will be a trilogy?

Yes.

Is anybody else worried that all the action takes place in night time?

I was seeing a video of the trailers comparison with the 2002 movie trailer and Raimi's movie looked fresher to me(Because the action was during the day aswell)

Some guy was saying there is a clip of Peter flinging Gwen out the window before catching her with web in the trailer

There is no such thing, thank god for that

I'm the "some guy", and check the preview again, because it is there, I checked the leaked video of the 6 minutes, and the scene is there, get your eyes checked.

Seen the international trailer (different one here than the ones on Apple) 3 times now, and it is there as well.

Pete throws her out of the window and catches her with his web, she smiles.

The only flinging part I saw was some guy dropping and getting webbed mid flight and Captain Stacy and some other officer looking back surprised.I think thats some bad guy and not Gwen

Can you give me the time in the clip when that happens?
Also a link to the international trailer

Yes, I've noticed this before too :D.

Seems like the location of Oscorp tower changes throughout the film. One location is where the Hearst Building is at in real life, another is north of the Bank of America Building, and now where the MetLife Building's suppose to be.

Anyway, if this series were to be added into the MCU, it would have to take place before The Avengers or even Iron Man, since the MetLife Building as seen in your photo hasn't been deconstructed to make way for Stark Tower yet.

I don't get the 'too much CGI' complaint.

The reason I had problems with the Raimi CGI was the fact that it was overused in parts that they could have used an actor. Example, like when Spidey in Spidey2 jumps on the window frame before shooting himself out with his web at Doc Ock.

If Webb only does the CGI where needed, then no worries. Yet if he does it where he could use practical effects and an actor, then that would be a problem. Also, the lizard is CGI, with was done with the actor in mo cap. So again, no problem.

Will it be the best of 2012? Well, we'll have to wait and see. At the moment, my money is still on TDKR (I did enjoy the avengers ALOT btw. I just think TDKR will be better.. but who knows).

There will certainly be some day time action (school fight for example), and btw I prefer night time anyway because how can Peter go fight crime during daytime?
1. Most of crimes happen during night time.
2. He's at school during day time.

I doubt that will happen anyway. And I prefer not to.

I don't get why people think Spidey could/will enter the Marvel continuity with this series and whilst under columbia control

Sorry guys, it will more than likely not happen.

It gives me too batmanish type of fell :|

I hope Spidey never combines with any team. He's a solo player and always has been

Even in the comics he would take part in a team for a long time

Well if you want to have a realistic approach to Spidey, this is what you get.

I'm sure there will be some other day time action in this movie, and certainly in the sequel or third movie. Don't worry. :cwink:

My bad, I thought I had seen it in the 6 minute preview this morning, but nope, there is only the one shot in broad daylight, where he's in the costume, holding Gwen, this is the scene that's shown in the international french trailer.

International trailer that is only in movie theaters, not online.

Oh..Kay

Somehow I find that kind of scene too cheesy

Hey guys I've been lurking on the boards for years now, finally registered. Anyways saw the 6 min preview and thought it was pretty sweet. But did anyone else feel a bit awkward during the scene between Peter and Gwen in the hallway? Maybe that's the vibe they're trying to convey with that scene though. And I do like that Coldplay song but I'm not so sure if I like it used in that scene/a movie like this.

It's supposed to be awkward, and it's a wonderful moment, played to perfection, total 500 Days vibe here, lovin this.
