awesome trailer, loved it.

has anyone discussed why water appears to be so important in the film? the ships appear to be beached on a dried up ocean bed, there's Thor screaming in water, and the Ultron drones burst out of water as well.

mte.

it's been implied that the twins were survivors among the volunteers in the CA:TWS post-credits scene. maybe they have some kind of a 'working for the enemy to achieve a larger goal' subplot going on?

The Twins are in *prison cells* at the end of CATWS. Quicksilver is obviously doing his damnedest to try to get out of his. Wanda looks drugged.

Wanda & Pietro are in no way working voluntarily for HYDRA; they are captives, and likely brainwashed. Or at least Wanda for sure.

The only thing this trailer needed to do was explain Ultron and it failed miserably at that. Is this a viral infection picked up by Stark's suit when it went through the black hole? Did he just set out to make an evil AI?

Does anybody know who are the other two female characters in the Teaser scene when ultron first enters everyone in room gets up to see him .
one is obviously widow with bruce ,then maybe pepper , sharon , jane ??
Next to Thor, the common theory (I've seen) is that it's a scientist friend of Tony's (character name not yet known?). Between Steve and Rhodey I believe is Maria Hill (in the red dress).

I don't find a robot to be interesting as a villain. This movie just sounds like filler to delay until Thanos and The Infinity Gauntlet (a story about a villain with a motive beyond "I want to be a real boy").

No, it's a teaser. The only thing that it needs to do is to tease/get people excited. It doesn't have to explain anything, in fact it shouldn't. That's what the actual movie for. Oh and you're second comment kind of proves that you know nothing about Ultron.

this teaser needed to show that Ultron will be an amazing antagonist, which it did.

I didn't care for Hardy as Bane he didn't feel like Bane to me. He felt like pale Imitation of Bane. Thus far I think Ledger was probably the most impressive actor playing a villain. I always felt Ledger should have won an academy award for that role. It was some the best acting I have seen in a long time.
I didn't care for Nolan's take on Bane either lol.

Ok, I know this may have already been discussed, but is anyone thinking Thor could die in this movie? It's plausible given how there has been absolutely no word on the advancement of Thor 3. Or even if it's in Phase 3 for that matter. Ant Man filming, the casting buzz for Doc Strange, Cap 3 already with big news, for God's sake, they announced Guardians 2 before the first even came out, but we haven't heard anything major on a Thor 3. It's odd.

I'd be a really interesting route to take. He'd be brought back of course, perhaps in Thor 3. How do you resurrect a God, and what happens when you do? Like I mentioned, bringing someone back from the dead shouldn't be shrugged off. You need to deal with the ramifications. It makes it especially more interesting for Thor. That would make a great Thor 3 right there.

Or, Thor just leaves the Avengers, disgusted with humanity and returns to Asgard to rule, paving the way for a cosmic centered Thor 3.

The trailer is good. Can't wait to see the Hulk/Hulkbuster fight, and Spader as Ultrons sounds great.

Love this part. Cool female superheroines, f*** yeah, we need more of this stuff.

Too bad I can't bring myself to like Ultron's redesign. He looks way too busy and over-designed, and the face that he makes at the end of the trailer... well, he looks grotesque, but not in a good way. The fact that he has freaking teeth (why?) definitely doesn't help.
I know they wanted him to emote but... come on, he's a robot. His comic book look is pretty good and iconic, no need to change him so much.

Weren't they concerned BW could miscarry with a crazy stunt like that? Deplorable if you ask me.

I can't remember who posted it, but someone mentioned walking the fine line of Uncanny Valley with Ultron. Make him resemble more human features so he's relatable and has expressions, but not too much to take away from the fact that he's a machine. So if that's what the filmmakers were going for, sounds like they succeeded for some, failed for others.

Personally, I like the way they did Ultron here, the teeth, eyes, the expressions. I think it's part of the overall development of the character that we'll see in the movie. He hates humans, or at least the Avengers, he wants to "cut the strings" that humans suffer from, and become a creator himself, but in the process, he starts becoming the thing he despises…?

I can't wait to see what the finished product in the movie will look like.

Oh, and that BW gif… :hubba

Guardians of the Galaxy was one of my favorite trailers EVER.

It introduced you to the characters and gave you a feel for what the movie would be like...but revealed virtually nothing about the story.

Contrast that with most trailers, where they basically just show a 2 minute version of the movie. Riddick is one example that sticks out. We see Riddick struggling to survive on a barren planet...then some bounty hunters show up...then he kills several of them...then they capture him...then monsters show up and in order to survive, the bounty hunters are forced to release Riddick. Then Riddick fights the monsters in the dark. While not shown in the trailer, I can safely assume that Riddick defeats the monsters and escapes the planet, because its a movie, and thats how movies work. Great...now why I do need to pay to see this film?

I would prefer for ALL teaser trailers to be like Guardians...just show us what the movie is LIKE...dont show us the movie. I think I would have preferred a scene of them talking, joking...then Ultron shows up and gives his speech...then it shows Ultron commanding an army of attacking robots, show his power...then maybe end the trailer with The Hulkbuster and Hulk maybe running towards each other but NOT getting their hands on each other yet. If we want to see Hulbuster vs Hulk, we have to pay money to see it.

Not to criticize the trailer, I did enjoy it.

With regard to trailers, I agree with you. GotG, however, had a major ace in the hole for their trailer and that was the soundtrack. The way the music was integrated into the movie was a stroke of genius (well, maybe not genius, but pretty frelling smart and cool). The music was part and parcel of the movie. Really, really well done. This clearly wouldn't work for a movie like The Avengers.

I could see something like that happening, his name on a document is a nice nod to his roots but since this film is for a general audience, I wouldnt expect/hold my breath for anything more than that.

Well I wasnt expecting much about it in this film, perhaps more in ant man. Just the idea tha tony is reviving an old program and that howard stark is going to be in ant man really makes me think pym and howard are the original creators of that program

Honestly, they really need to make a musical Avengers movie.

For the big finale, Loki, Ultron and Thanos can do a huge extravaganza.

We already have people b****ing that the MCU never kills their characters for good, so I guess they wouldn't like that, but I would be fine with them offing Thor for a while :oldrazz: He is my least favorite next to Hawkeye.

Antman (pym) could have been easily introduced in this movie but creative heads dont just give **** about it .
well speaking of ultrons final appearence what if the mask of ultron goes up to revel fully developed face of james spader ???

^^ No, they saw it was more sensible to have Stark create Ultron since Pym was already slated to debut in a later movie and that would have ruined Edgar's vision (regardless of the fact they managed to do that somehow later on)

Plus, an Ant-Man movie comes out 2 months later. Are those 2 months that bad?
