okay folks got to pack up here see ya in the morning :D

No, i don't think you understand, I was one of those people who felt the Thor was heavily nerfed and severely underused in the first one. But oh boy he gets to shine in this one.

I guess both Thor and Cap got an upgrade in this movie from the first Avengers movie.

Still have to wait until Sunday to see AOU. Sigh.

Nerfed is an understatement

You mean one on one against Ultron or more hero vs hero? Against Ultron there's probably only so many times you can engineer solo battles against him, plus they would be a bit of a waste of screen time after more than a couple when you have 9 Avengers. I thought the team fighting was out of this world at the beginning and end of the film. Sorry you didn't like it. Maybe it will grow on you when you see it on TV or something.

I prefer one on one fights, whether it is hero vs villain or hero vs hero. And there were opportunities to do both. Quicksilver fought against Cap and Thor, for instance.

But mainly I would to like to see fight scenes, whether it is one on one or with more than one hero, with more screentime, with a beginning, middle and end like we see in the first film: thor vs hulk, cap vs loki, iron man vs thor, etc. The fights that we see in this film, apart from hulkbuster vs hulk, are just snippets jumbled with other scenes.

Let's compare the end battles of both movies. In the end battle of AoU, they just mash together the fighting. You don't know what anyone is doing: everybody is just kicking ass and saving people. In the first film, cap was doin' clean up and saving civilians, thor and hulk were handling the big guns, hawkeye was the eyes, iron man was doing sweeps, etc. In AoU, the action didn't have a purpose like in the first film.

But ya bro, I went in to love this movie like I did with the first movie but it failed my expectations. I thought that they wouldn't change some of things that people loved from the first movie. But, unfortunately, they did. Nevertheless, I will give it another go once it comes out on dvd just to see if it grows on me.

Fair enough. I guess it's appropriate you prefer one on ones with a screen name of Ryu lol. Doesn't that mean that you would naturally be more suited to solo movies where you're pretty much guaranteed to get a number of epic face-offs between the main villain and hero? And I always preferred team comics and ensemble films so it's cool to be suited to one or other or both. A lot of solo match ups in a team film doesn't seem appropriate (would have to be engineered almost), although it made sense in the first film due to all the Avengers meeting and butting heads for the first time.

I get your point on how everybody had a purpose in TA and you could say that didn't happen during the final battle in AoU but it did happen during the lead up to the final battle where Cap was giving the orders and you had some guys helping with civilian evac, some guys in the air defending the helicarrier, Hawkeye taking care of the new member and others taking out drones in other areas etc. In fact there wasn't really a comparable everyone against everyone final battle in the first film as a climax. It was all lead up till Widow managed to start closing the portal and Tony flew the nuke threw it. And the equivalent of that lead up was there in this film, with the addition of a crazy final battle (which is probably over the top and impossible for many to follow but absolutely unbelievable to others :woot:).

I also loved seeing them as a fully functioning team in the opening scenes. Again the Hulk vs Hulkbuster scene was great but not my bread and butter (can't remember if you said you liked it). Yeah it might grow on you. I know Iron Man 3 did, even Iron Man 2 to an extent (which is strange as I usually prefer sequels). And if not at least you have Civil War and the Infinity Wars to look forward to from the guy who brought you TWS!

The flaws you have all read are there too lol but I took them in stride and they didn't really bother me, they're are some beautiful scenes too man, I teared up a couple times.

I don't think many Vision fans will be complaining! The guy was beautiful and Bettany was perfect.

CANT WAIT!! Going to go see it tomorrow for the second time the screening I went to Monday didn't show any trailers beforehand can't wait to see the ant-man trailer in 3d lol

Yeah I was happy, but i wanted moooooaaaaar lol, but I'm grown enough to understand. ....more is coming :awesome:

I also have to give props to scarlet witch, really enjoyed her character.

Haha, hopefully he gets a good shot in Civil War. Although I thought he'd be too powerful to be involved. I thought the idea was to cart off the uber guys like Hulk and Thor so the more military level guys could duke it out.

Thanks mate for understanding my points, truly. I too respect your opinions and they do seem to be fair and reasonable.

I loved the opening scene and I expected that they would go deeper into the other action scenes later in the movie. That happened with Hulkbuster vs the Hulk. But when it got to the other action scenes, I just felt deflated somewhat when you got to scenes like the stand-off with Cap, Iron Man and Thor vs Ultron, the twins and Klaw henchmen and you got just one or two minutes of quick action. I expected a different thing from Whedon's previous work where the action has always a sense, is correctly explored and is paramount to the story.

Sure, all of this is a matter of taste. And I sure hope that I grow to love this movie. Maybe, once the disappointment wears off. Still, like you said, we still have CW and the infinity wars to look forward to. Maybe i'll find redemption there.

Ryu, maybe you should see it a second time. That is what I did with Godzilla, which didn't exactly disappoint me the first time but it still felt empty. The second time I enjoyed it a lot more

Just something to consider, because usually you will know what to expect

No probs mate. Glad you liked that first scene at least. Was much better to me than even the awesome freezeframe suggested from the trailer. I have to admit the action during the Klaw scene is not something I'll be giving much of a 2nd thought to, definitely could have been better. Ultron brought all the wit but I would have preferred him to be more threatening, and more formidable in general. Really the bits of this film that make it something new to me are that first scene seeing the Avengers as a well versed team and on the attack, the crazy final battle, the whole lengthy build up to it where they are all over the place doing different things and the wondrous creature that is Vision!

CONFESSION TIME:

I have never found Hulk to be the highlight of any scene in the first film. It just isn't THAT entertaining to me to see him just wreck **** and never have a single thing done to him by the villains, which is one reason why I really like the Incredible Hulk. It is a lot more fun to watch Cap struggle yet still kick ass when fighting for example

Because this is am internet forum, I know some people will choose to whine if they disagree, but I don't care! ;)

Flaws are just flaws to certain people though, to others there might be none so it's just a matter of seeing for themselves haha.

idk she was alright but the character that really grew on me was quicksilver.

is he [BLACKOUT]dead for real :waa: ?[/BLACKOUT]
Sadly I'm thinking yes, but maybe if the fans like him enough they will. He had a nice arc and I'm not bitter about it, but at the same time...that's just such a terrible thing to do to either of the Maximoffs -- to make one have to go on without the other. :csad:

[BLACKOUT]I bet vision will die/give up his power to bring back Pietro.

or maybe Pietor gets the tahiti treatment hopefully[/BLACKOUT].

So do you think Feige/Marvel regrets announcing all there upcoming films, so many people saying how it's just a long trailer for future films, which wouldn't have happened well it wouldn't have happened if they didn't connect everything to IW, but people wouldn't have thought about it if they didn't know the future films.

Absolutely loved it. Make your own judgment, but for me it was deffinately better the first.

Absolutely loved the film and will be seeing it a few more times. Only had one problem with the movie
Quicksilver dying
