Let's not act as if this is the first time this has happened, one of the most anticipated films of all time isn't getting 5 star reviews across the board. That's kind of what you get when you come on boards like this and hype a film up in your head as being the best film ever made before even seeing it. Like I said on the TDKR boards, there are going to be people on here who would be disappointed with a 99% score thats how crazy the hype for these films are. All i see is that the score is positive, it will likely stay that way, and the majority of my trusted top critics enjoy the film.

It's a good film, that's the battle won.

Fanboys don't care if it gets mostly positive reviews, they always freak out if a film gets below a certain rating. If the movie ends a point below 80% on RT, then it's the worst reviewed film ever...to fanboys.

"Not everyone likes what I like! Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!"

Just searched Avengers on Twitter.

Kinda feel like sitting in the corner now. Man some of them are straight to the point.

"Not everyone likes what I like! Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!"

Yeah... That's me right now unfortunately.

I felt like throwing my computer every time I read "the novelty of seeing them together is gone" or that one "Proof we don't need more Avengers movies". They should have given up on Batman and the X-Men a long time ago.

Just came back from viewing. It really does feel like a ANH-TESB transition. More personal feel with lots of quite character moments, and not a lot of fist-pumping scenes. I may have to watch it again to properly assess my feelings about it. I have to say that the X-Men films can learn a lot from this film about how to effectively manage a huge cast.

I just watched the movie too, and I agree I probably have to watch again.

I can understand why some critics have mixed feeling now. You know, like point out some weaknesses but at the end still giving it good scores. That's my feeling too. There are some parts that I think felt rushed and don't engaging enough, especially the first and second act, but the third act is the part where I can say : THIS IS IT. This is my Avengers!!!

But for the X-Men, in my opinion, X-Men : DoFP has more depth for the three main characters (Erik, Charles, Mystique) than AOU. However, AOU has more equal portion for every members of the Avengers.

I love Wanda and Vision here, but to be honest they have less awesomeness than Widow and Hulk in the Avengers. That's just my opinion though.

Btw, I'm new member here. I hope to discuss more with you all.

If there is more personal feel and it is actually a little darker or more serious, that's music to my ears. This needs to be a different movie than Avengers.

No idea about the ending, but the intro was Maria Hill being interviewed by the World Security Council with clips of the Battle of NY played over it
Oh right, might have been interesting but looks like we'll be starting with a big action scene instead.

I think part of the problem is Marvel have raised the bar so much, they have created this huge amount of hype and expectation that now can't be realistically achieved with every film.

A lot of critics and fans are now expecting some kind of perfection which just isn't going to happen, even the best films are not perfect.

The critics loved The Avengers because it was new and fresh, it had never been done before and it was pulled off brilliantly. Unfortunately now regardless of what AOU does they will find fault with it. If Whedon had used the same tone as the original then you can bet the critics and viewers would have called it a repeat and criticised it.

Whedon has tried to change the tone and keep it fresh, he deserves credit for this. I will judge the movie with my own eyes but it sounds to me like this will be Empire Strikes Back style, which is fine by me!

I'm sure we will all enjoy the film, I'm sure it will be fantastic and hopefully it will get an 80% + score on RT too.

I'm headin' out to see if folks, full review in a couple of hours. :)

I might be stepping into dangerous territory here, and i've never really been on the thor boards to discuss it, but aren't the first two thor films essentially the MCU's attempts at luring the tween/twihard/tumblr girl demographics? That's always what i took from them, especially when you consider the focus on the plain Jane character and a larger focus on her romance with Thor.
I always thought it was more Disney fairytale than Lord Of The Rings style fantasy adventure.

The Thor/Jane stuff is very handsome prince whisking ordinary woman to his magic realm type stuff you would see in the Twilight book section or Tumblr girl fanfic.

Nothing wrong with any this but I don't think Hemsworth and Portman have the chemistry to pull it off. The romance between those two characters I buy into the least out of all the MCU films.
Jane, Darcy, Dr. Selvig and Darcy's assistant/intern/boyfriend. Hell Lady Sif has had more screentime in her two guest appearances on Agents of SHIELD than the two Thor films combined, which should not have happened.
Whenever I see Jane, Darcy, Selvig & Ian I can't help but think it would be more fun to see Thor, The Warriors Three and Lady Sif having adventures across the realms than watch those human characters doing stuff.
To ME the Dark Elves should have spoke English and have us ASSUME they spoke another Language. I still think so much was lost with them speaking Dark elvish
I wholeheartedly agree.

Christopher Eccleston and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje are fantastic actors. Why waste those guys talents by having them speak Elf gibberish that disconnects them from the audience.

Lining up! Huge que, got here 2 hours early, right at front, haha

Film in T-50 minutes

Let the games begin! See you on the other side. :)

Guys, please. Help me out here. I can go see Age Of Ultron in about 24hs, but by myself. Or I have to wait like until Saturday to see it with friends. I mean, I want to see it as soon as possible, but also I like to share the experience and like, talk about it afterwards. What should I do? What would you do?

Dude or Dudette. Seriously? Go and see the frelling movie. Frell the other people and go see it again on Saturday. I'm gonna be dying for another week and a day and you're asking whether you should wait.....arggggghhhhhh!!!!

Anyway, after you've seen it twice, you'll seem like an expert and way smarter than everyone else. Personally, I love it when that happens (cause it ain't that often). :woot:

I don't know if you're crazy or just bragging. :cwink:

This might be a shock, but a lot of these guys dont have any taste or know much about movies in general, they just run movie sites.

IM 2 syndrome? haha I love IM 2 I was just talking about it in here.

Very goot man!! :)

I guess it's interesting to read what others say about a movie, but I just can't bring myself to care much one way or the other. I'm going to get up next Friday morning, drive to Hollywood, have breakfast and endless mimosas at Preston's in the Loews Hotel, walk over to the TCL Chinese with their big @$$, bad @$$ new IMAX projector, and enjoy every second of the movie.

I have spoken....:cwink:

I know, that's why I've said that I usually don't see eye to eye with him. He is a prick, but sometimes he has a point. He blocked me on twitter for simply asking where was the bad buzz for Daredevil, by the way.

:lmao: P.....R......I......C.......K.....that spells Moon.....

How dare you ask such a question. What's your problem anyway? :woot:

Cali: I hope you have a great time. I wont get to see it in such an epic way on May 1st but Im really excited anyway.

Seeing it in 11 hours, with the first Avengers and TWS before it. 8 hour stay in the cinema, but it will be worth it! To all who are soon seeing it, enjoy guys!
