Hope you do get to see some good stuff though. Who do you most want to see?

Thanks!

In terms of actors I'd be amazed to see anyone connected but particularly RDJ/Johansson/SLJ/Hemsworth/Evans. In terms of in costume, and even if just stunt men, I'd most like to see Thor and then Cap. Something like those set outtakes from the first Avengers film featuring Thor and Cap teaming up back to back against Chitauri would be unreal.

Yeah, I mean. It's nothing new. Too lazy to search for pics, but if you look at Lizzie on set of AoU and Civil War, she does exactly the same. So yeah.

I meant you completely missed the joke that you responded to

No the Russos definitely quit IW to make pizza.

If they made Italian rice dishes instead, they could've called it Russoto.

I like pizza. Crispy crust, good cheese and don't forget flavorful sauce. Mmm, Russos

I see practical props in the bts shots. Or do you mean to tell meCorvus staff is CGI? Did you see practical slender aliens in the Weta workshop? Did you practical giants or titans?. I assume no. You saw props like the ones the Black order uses...

The obsession with practical effects/prosthetics is so tired at this point. CGI has come a long way. We got the best Colossus because of great CGI. No actor has those proportions. The fools that wanted a human sized Thanos always bug me. The character's proportions are out of this world.

People wanted a human sized Thanos?

Yeah because it turned out so well for Apocalypse right? I mean seriously do people want to deal with that kind of disaster all over again. Granted I didn't hate his look in that movie, but there were scenes where even Fassbender was taller than him which takes away all the intimidation and menace from what is supposedly your main villain. I'm practical effects guy at heart, but that was easily one of the few instances where I think CGI would have been a much better choice. The only way a character like Thanos can be done right proportion wise is with CGI in my opinion.

Characters with non-human proportions should be CGI for sure - there's no way around it unless all your actors are freaks of nature.

But when you have a perfectly good practical suit and completely paint it over with a CG double like they did with Black Panther and Spider-Man in Civil War, that's a huge pet peeve :cmad: Especially when the CG double doesn't necessarily look better than the original practical costume would have with minor lighting touch-ups. I also believe the look of practical stands the test of time better than VFX - the LOTR orcs being a good example.

I literally couldn't tell that Black panther's armor was CGI in Civil War. Sure Spider-man looks CGI in some shots but that was due to their tight schedule, Holland was hired during filming. Thanos certainly can't be in practical either, there is a reason Avengers showed only his face.

Panthers suit was only enhanced with CG, and Spidey had to be totally CG because they changed his design after filming had completed, and so had to digitally replace him. Practical can look great but those aren't the best two examples of an overuse of CGI

On no those horrid jeans were Wanda's :funny:

If Lizzie's hair is still blonde in these scenes, this has to be from the beginning of the movie when they're all in disguises still.

It's entirely digital.

It's hard to tell with Black Panther, but the Spider-Man shots and the entire airport are very obvious VFX. It does the job but it's not something that I'd say is a feat to write home about.

Why do you think that Wanda and Vision are in Scotland? Is it possible that they ran away together to get romantic, and the Black Order found them?

I think Wanda and Hawkeye probably stuck together on the run and Vision goes to find them.

I think they were trying out Scottish reel dancing and selecting a new kilt for Vision. Then the Black Order came because they wanted to join in but refused to wear kilts themselves so they kicked up a fuss because it was mandatory dress.

Corvus Glaive wouldn't be caught dead in a kilt, although Black Dwarf was more open to the idea.

Yep, agreed.

I'm also outraged that Kong and Godzilla aren't done in full practical suits. Either that or make them human size.

If Wanda is wearing those terrible jeans Vision can borrow her skirts instead.

Scotland could be a stand in for another city or even a fake one

Scotland isn't a city. Edinburgh can be used as a stand in for London though, another place where they're doing some filming.

Wanda and Vision are in Edinburgh to put on a two person show at the fringe festival. Black Order gatecrash ;)
