There's no weirder villain than the Penny Plunderer.

I'm gonna say that this hulk looks closer to the actor portraying him than any other hulk before.

I think that's less to do with more accurate character design and more to do with the fact that Ruffalo's face looks more Hulkish. He's not really an ugly dude but I still think Norton and Bana were way too 'Hollywood Goodlooking' for Bruce Banner. Ruffalo has a more squat, kinda damaged looking face. Dude looks like he's got demons. He reminds me of every single deadbeat divorced father of all the girls I've ever dated, he just has that quality to him.

So yeah, i just think it's a case that he is much better suited to the part.

except the lou ferrigno hulk. that looked just like lou ferrigno for some reason...

You're right about that. He looks more like a regular guy than bana and norton. And he should. It's a great thing that they chose someone who looks more hulkish. Lol. Makes the transformation more believable if the man and the hulk look very similar. Or at least share alot of features. Even down to the hair length. TIH hulks hair looked nothin like nor tons hair

wolvieboy, Lol thats funny, about the deadbeat father

I am picturing that in my head right now, I literally can't stop laughing hHhahahaha

So you're telling me this guy creates this adhesive that's better than superglue but rather than getting a patent and making thousands (That was big money back in the 60's I believe.) he turned to a life of crime? It must have been due to all that glue he was sniffing and eating as a kid. 60's villain logic was pretty sketchy back then.

It's a necessary conceit of comic books (and a few Bond villains) we still see today: Spider-Man's web fluid would be worth millions if it were real, yet for decades Pete was struggling to pay his rent (it's only recently they have him making money from his smarts).

And it applies to almost every genius Super Villain. They could make fortunes from their inventions but that wouldn't make for much of story so we have them using them for crime.

From the 60's yes (the early marvel books had plenty of really cheesy villains). His origin was basically that he invented a versatile glue and rather than make millions selling the patent (a common plot contrivance that Spider-Man still has to this day) decided to use it for crime.

Pete went on to become the Trapster, still ignoring the obvious value of his adhesive compounds, and became a regular in the Frightful Four.

My favorite appearance is in FF 265. Pete decides to break into an empty Baxter Building and get his ass handed to him by the security system and the robot receptionist.

The FF was away for Secret Wars (except for Sue) and didn't even appear in the issue.

Nah, you could see the shape of Nortons face. Same cheekbone structure and eyes. The model for Hulks face pre-Norton, which has been posted in here recently, looks slightly different. You could definitely see Eric Bana in Ang Lee's Hulk too, with the hair and face shape.

i expect there were multiple hulk designs tried before hand but what i said is what's revealed in TIH related materials. interviews, commentaries and features etc.

There's an element of reality to that too. If you've ever seen a show or documentary about oh, say organized crime(Sopranos or whatever) then what you end up seeing is a bunch of criminals who're trying to do all these scams and whatnot so they don't have to work for a living. Yet, their criminal careers end up being just as stressful and taking as much effort as if they'd all just applied themselves and got day jobs.

I'm pretty sure Norton did do some mo-cap though, correct?

edit: wait, you said villain >.<

he did video of himself doing motions much like an animator would as a guide for the animators. he also worked with the stunt team that was being motion captured, giving them direction somewhat.

edit: i forgot about the facial capture for expressions using the fluorescent make-up system.

I'm pretty sure I've seen footage on the DVD extras or something where we see the animator tweaking the face to Norton's proportions.

might be misremembering rotoscoping? they couldn't change the model much (with the tech of the time) because then you'd have to change all the rigging which controls how it's shape changes with different movements.

they also had to do the transformation scenes so that would involve morphing the model in 3D from Hulk to Norton or vice versa.

Official Avengers page on Facebook says the commercial is only 30 seconds. :(

Yes we know. But it will apparently be released online and be 60 seconds long. So the teaser released a few days ago was:

A teaser for a teaser for a trailer of a movie. That's where advertising is in the year 2012, lol. :ikyn

considering there have been ARGs for unlocking a poster it's not too bad.

Ruffalo has a great square Hulk face. Norton's looks about as far away as you can get.

****, too funny :woot::woot:

like Bruce Banner is supposed to look. i'm paraphrasing here but "no one could imagine Bruce Banner could be the Hulk."
