Coulson is The Living Tribunal
Nah, he's The One Above All(Stan Lee) in disguise. That or the Beyonder.
Coulson is The Living Tribunal
Yes it is. One shared by the vast majority of superhero movie genre fans.
No it isn't. It's shared by the vast majority of Superman fans maybe. The spinning Earth nonsense makes the movie lose nearly all credibility. I was like 9 years old when that movie came out and thought that was scene was complete rubbish and killed the movie for me.
Most superhero movie fans nowadays have one of the following as the best CBM:
- tdk
- IRON MAN
- Spiderman 2
- X2
I never said it wasn't an important movie; it gave birth to the CBM genre, of course it's important. What I was disagreeing with is the blanket statement that it considered the best CBM by the majority of fans.

I would say Superman Returns had more action scenes in it than The Dark Knight. That plane catch still gives me goosebumps when I watch it.
that's not really a fair criticism of luthor, lexcorp wasn't even a thing until post crisis. There's no denying Superman's role in being instrumental in establishing the CBM movie genre, and in influencing all the Raimis and Nolans and Whedons and Snyders and Singers that have followed humbly in Donner's footsteps.
But the movie hasn't aged well, despite Chris Reeve's legacy as THE film Superman that set the gold standard for the role. Lex Luthor was a joke, even in 1978 (a powerful man with the resources of a major megacorporation at his disposal was reduced to a low-rent thief with a gang of idiots as his minions....he didn't even remotely resemble comic-book Lex); the fx are painfully outdated; the "reverse-polarity gravitational time shift" is the most laughable deus ex of all time.
Superman needs a facelift. Singer sure as hell didn't do it for SR; it remains to be seen whether or not Zack can do it in 2013.

last time I was like that at any movie it was for Phantasia at an outdoor. lol (years ago)Haha hell no, not getting high for this movie
Luthor in the Superman films was more like comic relief. He never once felt threatening or like an actual villain.
only the deal with paramount might mean it's still a paramount logo.

- TDK - Chris Nolan.
- Spider-Man 2 - Sam Raimi.
- X-Men 2 - Bryan Singer.
All three directors have said to be fans of Donner Superman movies and have even said that they were influenced by it.
So, Superman The Movie is considered by many fans and directors alike as an important movie.
I agree.Superman has aged well. None of its sequels have.

I'm hoping Avengers & TDKR are going to be my new favourites after this summer!
