@WolvieBoy and AnneFan - I've been seeing some mixed receptions of Thor's involvement in the final battle, some people say he's awesome while other say he doesn't have as many cool moments as others.

I wouldn't worry about that, he shines like everyone else. He also has some amazing dramatic scenes with Loki that just MAKE you want to revisit Asgard in Thor 2 already :P

That said, I definitely felt like all my iconic Avengers necessary moments were met and exceeded. I mean, I can't think of a single thing I felt was really missing from the film except an immediate sequel :P

I mean hell, there is one scene

(not saying which) where something happened and I suddenly though 'What if Fury is a light model decoy in this scene?' just because it popped into my head. Turned out that was a far fetched idea and I felt silly... Then in like, the next scene, Stark makes a joke about them and I was like "AAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" :P

Also, this is me at the midnight screening :P

I just wore my hoodie and there was a guy in the full TFA Cap costume, completely authentic. He let me borrow his shield for this photo :P

Thats a nice hoody!

That's pretty weird considering he's has a much larger power set than anyone in the film.

Make no mistake, he does have cool moments. But I'd say the other characters have more.

I don't know, I can think of about 6 great scenes, all action oriented, that Thor is a big part of, two of which are pretty damn iconic.

I agree with Oberon that Thor has bigger action moments then Cap. I think that's pretty much a result of the nature of his power.

Other characters?

I was pleasantly surprised with how kick ass Black Widow was. The close combat fight choreography and the way it's filmed was very well done with no shaky cam or extreme cuts. You can see every punch and kick quite clearly. Her fight in IM2, for example, came across as wire work and not once did I believe the force of her blows could do the damage that was displayed. Not so in Avengers - I BELIEVED every hit, if that makes sense.

Yeah that's pretty much a given though considering their power/ability sets.

Now this is what I like to hear! :woot:

to be honest i was more impressed with her kicking arse scene in iron man 2 than i was the interrogation scene, which had a very noticeable "hairbutt"

i hope her other fight scenes are much better than that

In terms of screen time in the final battle, I do think Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow and Hawkeye had more scenes.

I'm not really concerned with the amount of the screentime as much as I am with the amount of damage he does to Loki's army.

If that means that they have some more time, but Hulk and Thor have their power moments, I think that's perfect. The most powerful heroes wouldn't need the same amount of time to make an impact.

I had the EXACT same concerns after seeing the interrogation scene. The headbutt looked fake and the flips and **** were floaty. Luckily her other fight scenes are nothing like that. They feel real and brutal. I especially liked how
she takes out two aliens with one of their spears
. It's a quick moment but one that stuck with me.

Just a reminder to all the folks who have recently seen the movie to vote on the rate/review thread. Thanx in advance.

You guys are sooo lucky. Still have to wait for May 2nd.

I never thought 7 days could seem like a nightmare eternity.

Think of it like a really good episode of Firefly or Battlestar Galactica. The basic plot might be 'Ship runs out of fuel, characters need to find fuel, fight space bandits for fuel, win day and fuel, escape' but it's the inbetween moments that has the impact, the little complications that add up, how each character deals with the crisis, how far the heroes/villains go in order to achieve the goal and the methods they actually take. It's the colouring of the story that makes it unique, not the point A to B stuff.

Think of X-Men 2. Magneto escaping prison is a pretty generic narrative point, right? But the WAY he escapes? Completely creative, original and one of the coolest scenes in a CB movie. Avengers has PLENTY of moments like that.

Oh you just got major points for bringing up one of the greatest scenes in CBM history. Huge MAGNETO fan here.

That was posted a couple of days ago, but it's just as uncomfortable to watch a second time.

Also, for Hulk fans, best first transformation scene ever. It was genuinely pretty terrifying.
