They showed an edited version of it, it's very blink-and-you-missed-it

Just realized they took off that awesome shot of Cap frozen in ice.

It was there, but only for a few seconds while Steve was having his PTSD flashbacks in the gym.

Pity, I was expecting a full scene for that bit. :(

Ya, would've been nice. [BLACKOUT]Albeit, I do like how Whedon incorporated the flashback into why Cap was going at the punching bag so hard.[/BLACKOUT] BTW, there's also a funny moment in that gym scene related to the punching bag.

It's there ....
it's when Cap is working out on the punching bag and he's having flashbacks.
Huh? How can he have a flashback of him getting thawed out of the ice? Wouldn't it be a third person POV?

Yes, that particular snapshot is from the 3rd person and somebody is yelling "he's still breathing" ....

To be honest TDK has set a very high bar for quality super hero film that the Avengers may or may not pass....I haven't seen it yet IDK.....It just confuses me how we got to a place where "gritty and adult-oriented" are automatically the better made movies or taken more seriously etc.

I seem to remember a movie called Star Wars that is about as dopey and stupid of a movie imaginable (really take a long hard look at the movie we all love. it's sooooo stupid, bad dialogue, weak characters, ham acting) but that's been a movie that has stood the test of time as one of the most beloved and imitated movies ever. ET another example (even though I don't really like it)

point is: I think what will probably end up happening is that TDK will be the one most people cite as the "better" movie.....but is it a better movie if you flat out just enjoy the Avengers more? If the ultimate goal is to make a movie people want to see again and again and again....maybe there needs to be a way to factor that in while still accounting for this so called "quality film" factor. I don't have the answer, just one guys opinion

This is a dead horse argument. The two franchises couldn't be any more different. One embraces its pop culture, fantastical roots, while the other goes for a more heightened reality. So while Nolan's Batman franchise are entertaining movies, I feel bad for the Batman fans who will never get to see a Mr. Freeze, or Clayface, or Man-Bat, because they don't fit into that grounded realism. I'd rather watch a MCU movie any day of the week, because it makes me feel like a kid again.

How often does Black Widow use the Widow's Bite (bracelets) in the movie?

Those Batman fans are few, the majority appreciate what Nolan has done for the character.

Even though we saw
Thanos half way through the end credit
will there be anything at the actual end of credits like what Robert and Mark said at the Premiere

Have you guys seen this video review of 'Avengers'? VERY good! This dude sounds pretty clever. But he also says the 3D is really good??? That's a first.

Anyway. This guy below saw the movie to. Guys, I'll believe that 'Avengers' is indeed awesome - NOW (didn't really think much of it two weeks back. Yes, I admit it). But this fat idiot is just completely lame to listen to! Seriously. Hear this review and watch this tub-of-lard-ass bash Nolan like every 5 seconds in the most provoking & way-out-of-line manner, while reviewing this movie. Tell me that he doesn't irritate you massively!? I personally wanna put a bat to his skull - like, hard!

And I highly doubt even if it were more fantastical they'd go for Mr. Freeze again because of Arnold or Clayface after Sandman in Spider-Man 3 or Man-Bat in the first place. Not that I'm not a fan of those characters, but come on. A lazarus pit-using R'as? Sure. A more monster-like Scarecrow? Right on. But Man-Bat? I think Hugo Strange, Deadshot, and especially a new take on Riddler are at the front of the line anyway.

Can you even name a great, definitive Clayface or Man-Bat story? Christopher Nolan isn't the one keeping the fantastical villains out of the movies, the fact that the most popular and acclaimed Batman stories feature the more grounded villains is.

EDIT: Not directed at you jmc, I was piggybacking off of your statement.

Any other 'heroes' make an appearance in any form?

Do HAWKEYE AND WIDOW earn their place in the Earth's Mightiest Heroes?

Don't mean to continue the off-topic discussion but, I would have loved to see what Nolan could've done with Killer Croc.

That being said, I saw a new Avengers clip on Marvel's Facebook page. Like someone said earlier, Captain America seems a lot better in this movie than in first avenger.

Here, I have an article that describes a possible theory regarding the mid credit scene.

http://movies.cosmicbooknews.com/content/spoiler-avengers-movie-so-whats-it-mean

Eh... The guy has some facts wrong:
Apparently, the mid-credit scene[BLACKOUT] involved "Annihilus" telling Thanos that Loki had failed in acquiring the Cosmic Cube, but Thanos turned and smiled — as if that was all part of the plan; meaning Thanos' true goal is the Infinity Gems[/BLACKOUT].
First, I don't see the [BLACKOUT]Annihilus connection[/BLACKOUT]. Sure the servant had some weird [BLACKOUT]tubes/armor thing going on in front of his face but he did not look insectoid and he was most definitely not green[/BLACKOUT].
Second, [BLACKOUT]Thanos' smile[/BLACKOUT] was obviously because of the comment about [BLACKOUT]attacking humanity = courting death[/BLACKOUT], it had nothing to do with the Tesseract or imply [BLACKOUT]anything about the Infinity Gems[/BLACKOUT].

People have described the cosmic scenes as somewhat corny. Is this the same case for the mid-credit scene?

I think what throws people about these movies is that they aren't based in space like Star Trek or Star Wars so when something in space happens they are like what? When a movie starts out in space people are like; "oh this movie takes place in space; expect huge things to happen in space" When a movie starts on the ground people don't expect a space element so when it happens maybe it throws them off and they are like; "what, this has space scenes too?"

Huh. I guess that makes sense.

"I only have one question" *Joker Voice*
Seriously though I haven't seen a answer to this yet:
Does [BLACKOUT]Thanos look like Thanos from the comics? Dimpled chin, helmet, clothing etc?[/BLACKOUT]

Thanks!
