My name is Sawyer, and I approve of this message.

That is pretty awesome. Glad he's going to have a better relationship with Barry than Quentin had with Ollie. That part of the dynamic is cool at least. My girlfriend, being a Rent and Law & Order fan, will get a kick out of this.

So it's confirmed: the Wests are black.

I've never seen the guy in anything, but I'm sure he'll do a good job.

Not to get off topic, but I'll be 35 when Man of Steel 2 comes out and you guys all make me feel old :)

I have no idea who that is.

Also, I'm still anxious to see who will be cast as Zoom. And, of course, pictures of the costume.

Have no idea who he is but everyone seems to be excited. I'm excited that color barriers are being broken when it comes to casting major comic book characters now so it allows a wider range of actors to take on roles. This may sound like a dumb question but its safe to assume Wally (if ever introduced) will be black? Or maybe still white?

Ok, so I just figured something out that could "fix" this weird incesty thing: Det. West being a surrogate father doesn't mean he adopted Barry, but rather could mean he's a role model to him, a mentor of sorts.

I never got the incest remarks to begin with. Barry said his mother was killed when he was, what, 12? So he's still very aware of who his parents were, and that Detective West is not his father. It's not as if Barry's mother was murdered when he was three months old, and Barry and Iris were raised together as brother and sister.

Great casting choice. He was amazing on Law and Order.

Oh and I will be 34 when World's Finest comes out. (32 now)

Depends on how much they care. If he was Iris' biological nephew, it would make sense for him to be black. However, I could easily see them having Wally be adopted as well, which would give him Barry something to bond over.

I just hope they get Barry Allen/Flash right. All I am hoping for with this.

Would be even better if DC/WB would keep creating cool original Asian, Black, Middle Eastern characters (Like Diggle) instead of race-swapping becouse of the sad fact that the majority of the characters are white dudes created by white dudes.

This. I mean, wasn't Carrie Kelly created just for the TDKR comic? Probably because they wanted another female Robin. She didn't exactly take off to the heights that Dick, Tim, or Jason did, but she was recognized for being a good OC in a good story. If DC wanted to diversify its characters on film, just could just start with creating some diverse characters on paper, let them grow and mature in the comics for a few years, then introduce them into the TV Shows and movies for the wider audiences to enjoy. I think it'd be a lot more palatable for everyone.

Your entire post :hrt:

Agree with you fully. In the comics u atleast often create new characters, some work out, some dont, but films generally just swap races.

Did you guys never watch Law and Order? He was a detective on that for a few years. He's solid, and the detective role won't be hard for him to play. He was also in the original broadway cast of Rent and the film version, so if he needs to sing for some reason in the show, it'll be awesome. He's got a great voice.
