I think audiences would buy him as a successor to Bale.

Well, not a single living creature (me including) was buying Daniel Craig as Bond when he was announced...but now? he's like, the badass Bond ever!t:

Call me crazy, but I still don't buy Clooney as Batman :/

I knew nothing bout Pace till he was suggested for Supes, and googled him up and laughed for days coz he is nothin like Supes, (that Bomer guy, who was a Bruce candidate here does, unfortunately there's better option)...I'm ready for the worst if Pace will not make it, but so far I'm all for him, i think he's very different from any actors who played Bruce, but he has it all, quirky & sexy!

Seriously, who wouldn't want this to be sexy Bruce? Sex sells! lol

I don't like Pace for the extraordinarily shallow reason that I don't find him attractive.

Well I disagree, as I find him very attractive in an Old Hollywood kinda way, but I can empathize with that sentiment because I've felt that way about quite a few picks for superheroes. Fan picks AND official castings. I mean, I hated Tobey Maguire's casting for Spidey for several reasons, but one of them was that I didn't find him even remotely attractive. Peter Parker was one of my first fictional character crushes when I was a kid, so I really wanted to be able to crush on the movie version. Didn't happen, lol. Garfield is remedying that, though.

But hey, all the straight guys on here expect to be able to drool over the female characters, so I don't think there's anything wrong with us wanting to drool over the men.

EDIT: For some reason I read Gina Carano as Carla Gugino

I said Carano is a realistic option that WB would look at. I support more than 7 actresses over Carano for Wonder Woman, but understand that Carano is a possibility.

Carano is perfect for the physicality and a believable Amazonian IMO. I don't think she has the acting chops. Though I admire her greatly...

He's got kind of a goofy, but lovable face...I'm totally straight btw

But there are other shots where he looks dark and moody, which is cool!

lee pace as batman is comparable to jake gyllenhaal as batman

both got that dorky loveable face the type of face of a person who looks like a sad puppy

probably not best for batman

But what we can take is that Pace looks like Bruce from The Batman cartoon (IMO!), he can pull off the Conroy voice, I think.

Whereas Jake. He looks and sounds like Tobey Maguire! That sad puppy can never be salvaged

True. never get JG. He will look like spidey borrowing batman's suit, his voice is big a no no for this role, and his body stucture is too ugly for any costume.

But I feel he's better suited to others roles out there, like Joker or Riddler.

I really like Anthony Daniels for Alfred.

A lot of people suggest more macho old-timers like Sean Connery or Jeremy Irons, probably because their trying to match Michael Caine and because Alfred is usually a former British agent. But I like the idea of Alfred being a little more unassuming and gentlemanly, kinda like George Smiley from John le Carre's spy novels (That's the guy Gary Oldman plays in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy btw).
