The Batman Reboot Casting Thread - Part 1

Love Padalecki, but can't see him as Batman.

He's my ideal Scott Summers, should an X-Men series ever be made *fingers crossed*

As much as I love Padalecki, I don't see him as any superhero, especially not Batman or Cyclops.

I was intentionally going for a younger Batman fresh out of Year One. I think there are a lot of interesting ideas from those early days that a TV show could explore (and that the movies have maybe only hinted at). That and I'm more interested in fleshing out a modern take on the classic Batman (kinda like BTAS) rather than adapting the more recent comics.

There will never be a live action Batman TV series as long as the film franchise is profitable.

That's basically what it comes down to.

"Arrow" is probably the closest that will ever come to one.

Agreed.

He has the look, height, acting. He's 33 but has looked the same for the last 10 years.
i liked wes bentley for spiderman and green lantern so yeah good choice for batman too.he has a certain look about him that he could pull off a comic book hero hell maybe the daredevil reboot to if not batman.

Bentley is totally not right for Spidey.

Bentley as Harry Osborn I could maybe see, but not Spidey.

He's shorter than Bale, but that shouldn't be a big deal. Keaton was 5'5.

Keaton is 9' 1.5"

His shortness is just an urban lejend. The guy is a Giant, he hits himself with roofs too often.

They use camera angles and steps to make him look shorter.

They just do it very convincingly.

:oldrazz:

Padalecki? NOOOOOO!!! Even Jon Hamm would be a better option if they go with an older Batman.

Matt Bomer

This guy lacks expression to be called "actor", and his eyes look like it's made of pretty stones and rarely blink. The only good things about him to be Batman is his jaw and manboobs. He'll look like a chippendale dancer in costume, because his looks is more of a "kinky" type. Not feeling him as a serious actor.

I like his voice too. But I don't see him as Batman. Hal Jordan maybe.

and I do think Joker should eventually be in the reboot, but I wouldn't put him in the first movie. Either way, I wouldn't want anyone but Tom Hiddleston playing him.

Jon Hamm MUST be the next Batman. he reminds so much of Bruce from the comics and the 90s animated series.

I love the occasional (or actually fairly regular on the Hype) bouts of irrationality around here... "His eyes look like pretty stones and he never blinks.... terrible Batman!!!"

Good God, folks.... :o

And surprise, surprise.. now he's playing one in "Magic Mike"

He would be a horrible choice for Batman, but not for the reasons you mentioned.

Agreed, but I doubt he'll get the role. Because WB/DC will probably go with a younger actor.

I'm not into the idea of a 40 odd year old playing Batman, and I doubt WB will go that route anyway. They might. But why should Batman be ancient compared to an undoubtedly young cast of the JL just to differentiate from Bale's young Bats? There's no need.

Batman can be established for a number of years (how many is irrelevant), but that doesn't mean he has to be old.

They need someone who can pass for mid 30s, regardless of the actor's age.

That isn't Hamm. Hamm looks his age.

Bale already gave us the young origins Batman in his early 30s. There's no need to do that again. Batman Begins was perfect, perhaps the best superhero origin film ever done.

Mid 30s seems like a fair age range for the next Batman. It would mean he's been established for a few years and isn't green.

I think Bale's Bats was 31 in TDK, making him 39-40 in TDKR.
For the reboot. Say an actor, late 20's or early 30's playing a Batman around 35 or just over?
