From Christian Bale to Jay Ryan is a DEFINITE downgrade. That shows a lack of respect for the character to support him for the role

Wow you havent even seen him act! and youre suggesting him?! Beauty and the Beast isnt on tv yet. You suggested him based on a picture. Why are you defending him if you have no idea of his abilities?

That to me shows that you do not care about the quality of acting in the next Bat film and thats sad, because the last films were so great, why would you want to downgrade?

I suggested him simply in the unknown category.

I said that when I was thinking about it, I was relying too much on thinking of Cavill's situation, being mainly on tv. Even Routh came to my mind. Just the situation of being an unkown TV actor or something.

I said I liked Ryan from what I saw of the teasers of BATB. I thought he would make a decent Bruce Wayne, he looked and acted pretty good.

I will admit wrongdoing. I jumped into it with the wrong mindset.

Has anyone mentioned Luke Evans as Batman? A tall, good looking and talented young actor, not in bad shape either...

And while I LOVED Tom Hardy as Bane, if we were to use a huge 6'5", 285lb Bane in a movie no CGI would be needed. Just put a full face mask on a wrestler or bodybuilder than have a talented actor voice over him.


Joaquin Pheonix as Batman? Don't love it, but I don't hate it either. But I feel the same with him as Black Mask.

Another actor who could play one side of the title character? Leonardo Dicaprio. He'd be a great Bruce Wayne but I'm not sure if I can imagine him dangling thugs off roof ledges...

I am not really familiar with his work, so, anytime I've heard him mentioned, I always assumed it was more based on his acting, cause, imo, I don't really see him as looking the part (other then being a tall, dark haired, male, in decent shape) his looks don't really scream Bruce Wayne to me

tho, like I said I am not familiar with his work enough to have ever dismissed the idea of him, If the suggestions of him were purely based on acting....

but, if people are just suggesting him based on looks, I'd probably have to pass

Be fair. I never said that. All I said was, what would happen if WB casted a gay actor as Batman? Because we know the media and other obnoxious groups would make stupid topics about it, after all the things said about Batman being called gay over the years. I worried if it would damage reputations, especially Batman's and would WB risk the impact of it? That was all.

And that aside. Luke Evans. I personally don't think he's leading man material. But who knows, maybe he is?

Batman/Bruce Wayne. I think he would give a great performance. You already know from his personality he can play the billionaire playboy. He's in great shape and known to action adventure films from Mission Impossible days. As long as he's not allowed to have influence on the script at all, everything should be ok. He has the acting chops. If you've seen him in Last Samurai his portrayal of a tortured character is exactly how Wayne should be approached. I can also see him as a great Batman throwing himself into the role. Forget all his antics outside of his work. Just don't let him make any decisions on the movie and just hire him as an actor.

I'm certainly not going to knock Cruise as an actor or get hung up on him being so short, but he's just not right for the part.
