The Batman Spoiler Discussion Thread

Well okay sir, I don’t like it...

The movie reported to be 2 hours and 55 minutes long.

I think I will stand outside a movie theater and literally laugh at all the suckers lining up to see this one.

(For the record, with rare exceptions, I hate live action. I'm exclusively an animation guy).
You shouldn’t look down and laugh at anyone lining up to see this movie anymore than anyone shouldn’t look down and laugh at you for being a grown adult who still only watches cartoons.

Ik there’s some people on this forum who saw the test screen or either knew someone who saw the test screening. I wonder if they felt the same way ?

Riddler floods the city and the third act is Batman saving people?
Gotham city is partially destroyed like the riddler has intended.

But yeah people say the film could end on the 2nd act, I wonder is it because the true villain is not revealed until the 3rd act among deeper revelations?

If there was some kind of secret villain I feel like that would've leaked out by now.

No secret villain pulling the strings.
Its’s obviously the riddler who turns out to be hush who turns out to be the riddler and I am just saying one of the grand finales is how all this was orchestrated and came together to ultimately unintentionally create the joker at the end. The film totally comes together at the end and leads to the joker for sure where he parades and menaces around for a few scenes.

It seems to just not end when you expect it to. Far from a bad thing. This being more and more unlike every other CBM, even in structure, is great imo.
Because the riddler turns out to be hush who turns out to be the riddler who is defeated and apprehended early on and then (though subtly) the film changes tone and changes into a different movie going experience altogether. I am totally going out of my way to defend this film, this film I have not even seen.

I think what I’m getting is, the film doesn’t have this big spectacular action sequences that most comic book films have, I think it ends potentially in more of a thriller way as opposed to loud big action way.
The action to me seems much more in line with my taste than in most modern blockbusters too.

Had a dream last night that I saw a trailer for the sequel with Mads as Mr. Freeze, and it even kinda works after Gotham supposedly gets flooded in the 3rd act of the first film. I even came up with a line that would make a kick ass stinger at the end

“Tell me Batman, what happens after the shores of Gotham consume its very soul?”

“……..Hell freezes over.”

I've said before to Andy that his look reminds me a little of David Berkowtiz at the height of the Son of Sam murders. A Joker with a manlet physique would be interesting lol.
