Bumblebee The Bumblebee Spin-Off Official Thread

If less is actually more.

Not sure what you mean. But I'd like it if the robots had actual characterizations this time. I've never been happy with the depiction and characterizations of the robots in any of the movies. They've never felt like real characters in the way a character like Rocket Raccoon or even Groot does.

Well, it's just 2-3 Decepticons and no Megatron or even Prime to really hog the screentime. I don't recall if other autobots are showing up beyond the flashback.

The new trailer was good, I had no idea there were so many other Transformers in this and I certainly had no idea they were using the G1 designs!...So that was cool, and overall it looks fun, definitely did a better job getting my interest than the previous trailers.

The Transformers themselves look so great. After years of being told that Bayformers were the only way to sell them in terms of design, it is so refreshing to see these more classical designs look so much better on film.

Clearly updated versions of the original G1 designs can work and look infinitely better than garbage Bay-formers.

Granted, we've only seen a little bit of footage and isolated stills from the flashback, but this is basically what they did:

The true shame here is that this might be too little and too late after Michael Bay has irrevocably damaged this franchise.

The designs look great and the trailer actually has me looking forward to the film. Would've preferred if they actually had Bumblebee talk finally. I was never really a fan of Bumblebee not being able to speak.

Also, there was a shot of the Hoover dam in the trailer I think, which is where Megatron was kept frozen. So looks like there might be some continuity with the Bay films in there if only the first one.

The classic transformation sound is there also. Hopefully it's heard in the actually movie, and not simply placed there for the trailer...

I'm seeing this film just for that G1 Soundwave. Total geek moment.

Seriously the designs are flawless!

I mean, the marketing is doing a tremendous job of showing that this ISN'T a Bay movie. And the trailers seem to be generating much more excitement than Last Knight. So, we will see.

How disappointing. They have the potential here to start over, and they've seemingly got something grand to launch themselves with. It would be an error in judgement to link this film to the mess that Bay released.

Maybe they're doing a soft reboot (of sorts) and using elements of the sequel films to build on (but in a new way). One can hope, cause they've really got the potential to rescue the Transformers franchise here, and yet linking it to the Bay films is imminent disaster.

I haven't even watched any of the Bay flicks since the second one, but man, this really does look like a huge step up.

Has actual heart to it, the designs are finally really on-point, and look really 80s. I'm in.

Can’t tell you how many times I watched the recent trailers! So much G1 goodness and Cybertron!

This has to be the coolest transformation in the entire series. Michael Bay, eat your heart out :o
I know we've got to let the mind loose a little bit, but how can a Helicopter (or Fighter Jet) Transform into a Car; they're different sizes. They should be parts that simply don't fit.

Still makes more sense than Megatron being able to transform in a gun small enough to be used by his fellow Decepticons. :o
